I would like to reiterate Ukraine’s commitment to peace.

None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.

We are ready to work fast to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky — ban on missiles, long-ranged drones, bombs on energy and other civilian infrastructure — and truce in the sea immediately, if Russia will do the same. Then we want to move very fast through all next stages and to work with the US to agree a strong final deal.

We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. And we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump provided Ukraine with Javelins. We are grateful for this.

Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive.

Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it in any time and in any convenient format. We see this agreement as a step toward greater security and solid security guarantees, and I truly hope it will work effectively.

Do you understand why this is a true statement? When slick Willy said he trusted putin and had a good relationship, I knew he was lying. When trump says it, I believe him.

In the 10-15 years following the dissolution of the Soviet Union there was a big desire to normalize relations with Russia to prevent a backslide into another Cold War. Clinton and Dubya both were pressing for this before we really started to understand what Putin was.

You can still see that sentiment in the 2012 debates when Romney claimed Russia as a geopolitical foe and Obama tried to laugh it off. And it was part of what motivated Germany to try and build stronger economic ties, under the belief that it would help prevent the sort of action Putin took against Ukraine.

To be sure that while he was always a snake, I don't think Putin burst on the scene fully formed as a dictatorial imperialist. I think he grew into that as he saw Russia struggling to find its economic footing.

A Harvard Poll. Not exactly right leaning

How NOT surprising.  Five Eyes is dead.

Question for the four dimensional chess players here: Let’s say Zelensky puts his tail between his legs and apologizes sufficiently enough for trump and Vance. Then he offers enough praise and thank you’s to heal the wounds enough for trump to speak with him.

What’s next? Does he have to concede the territories overtaken by Putin? What then?

In a likelihood, if a peace deal is reached, here's what it will look like:

1) Conflict lines frozen.

2) Sanctions lifted on Russia.

3) Russia re-builds military.

4) Russia invades again in 3-5 years. (Probably either during the 2028 Summer Olympics in LA or the 2030 Winter Olympics in France.)

Even the righties in Europe are starting to turn on Trump.  Le Pen, Geert Wilder, and even Farage are issuing public negative commentary toward the current US policy toward Ukraine.

Probably has nothing at all to do with them and their country footing more of the bill now. Nothing at all.

All 3 of their countries paid more than the 2% of GDP guideline in NATO but sure they will pay more now.  None the less, Trump is breaking the alliances.  Well, except for the alliance with Russia which is growing.

Probable has nothing to do with the fact the felon in Chief has abandoned our Allies and is siding with a war criminal.

Do you morons seriously think NATO member funding goes into like one big pot or something?

Every NATO member foots their own bill to themselves, man.

Do me a favor and have your wife eat some fruit so next time i eat her arse it isn't so bad. Trump stood his ground.  Refused the demands of Ukraine.  Within 36 hours, Zelensky came crawling back willing to agree to what he should have from the start. No more handouts.

Fruit makes the front door taste better, not the back.

I kinda thought this was common knowledge but I guess that explains the high divorce rates in MAGAt-Land.
