He would've been a nice WLB here

Sure, but there is zero chance they were paying 8 million a year for an off the ball LB like him.

Take a gander at 2018-2020, taking Watson’s rookie year and 2021 out of it. Better completion %, better yards, 20+ more passing TD’s. Just stop. I don’t care if Carson was better in 2017. He isn’t now.

Yeah of course Wentz isn't better now.  He's a shell of his former self after that meltdown in 2020 even though he was able to rebound enough to save his career to an extent last season.  Wentz 2017 to 2019 is basically Watson 2018-2020.  Watson has a better completion percentage and more yards but it's that same tier of QB.  It's not intended to be a slight towards Watson because I was really big on Wentz.  But looking at the actual young elite QBs in the NFL now (Mahomes, Allen, Herbert & Burrow) I don't see 2017-2019 Wentz as part of that just as I don't see Watson as part of that tier.  He's more a part of the tier of young QBs like Dak, Jackson and maybe Kyler, although I don't quite think Kyler is there yet.   That's the 2nd layer type tier of young QBs that Wentz used to belong to and maybe one day can still get back to that level.

Also you gotta remember that for the first 3 years of Watson's 4 seasons he was throwing to the best WR in the NFL.  Wentz was throwing to an increasingly washed Alshon.

Watson Record Completion % Yards Yards Per Game Touchdowns Interceptions QB Rating
2018 11-5 68.3 4,165 260.3 26 9 103.1
2019 10-5 67.3 3,852 256.8 26 12 98
2020 4-12 70.2 4,823 301.4 33 7 112.4
  25-22 (53.2%)

Wentz Record Completion % Yards Yards Per Game Touchdowns Interceptions QB Rating
2017 11-2 60.2 3,296 253.5 33 7 101.9
2018 5-6 69.6 3,074 279.5 21 7 102.2
2019 9-7 63.9 4,039 252.4 27 7 93.1
  25-15 (62.5%)

I liked him but it's time to move on.

I'm hoping to land S Jayron Kearse. Should not be that expensive at all.

My first thought was comp pick calculation. He didn't do enough consistently as an Eagle, but filled a gap

Zzzzzzzzzz

Fing Lowie. No free agents want to come to Philly because of them.

Schwarber was the better contract(and better offensive player with higher upside).

Would've gone 26 AAV with Bryant, but 7 years NTC is absurd. Wouldn't have gone there.

Nice, debating the merits of 2 QBs who will never play for the Eagles.

Be honest, I know this describes some, if not most of you

Could you imagine Schwarber on the boards of our fisher price hoop?

I’m guessing the Rockies theory is in coors he will see his numbers increase as it’s very hitter friendly. In 2 years when they are still not good in that division, they can trade him with those elevated numbers. I can’t imagine Bryant is extremely thrilled to be a rockie. I tend to think the market wasn’t great as it appeared to be the mariners, Rockies and Phillies. Phillies were out once they got schwarber.

Nice signing for them.  Heart breaker the way they went out, thought it was going to be their year the way that game was going.

Cool, at least he isn't going to Dallas.

Definitely funny money there

Holy crap, that is a boat load for a guy that old
