Now we can spend three months criticizing a draft that hasn't happened yet.

Excited when the blog realizes that Hurts starts in 2022.

Barring a trade where we will end up giving up way too much for a QB this is probably what's going to happen.

It's the most likely scenario at this point.

But, so is missing the playoffs next season.

Maybe Mayock will go back to the NFL Network. He always did a good job with draft stuff there.

When we look back on this moment in six months, will a time without Baby Hands Kenny Pickett seem like a lifetime away?

I don't do very well at mock off-seasons but I'll make a few predictions:

Gone -- Barnett, McLeod, Singleton, JJAW, Kerrigan

Traded -- Dillard for a 3rd round pick (hopefully 2nd), Reagor for a 5th, Minshew for a 3rd

FA signings -- backup QB (Mariota), a safety, another LB from the UDFA pile, a DE better than Kerrigan

Draft

1st round DE, CB, S

2nd round -- LB

3rd round -- WR

4th round and beyond -- BPA

2022 season record -- 7-10 and miss out on wildcard

He would have a lifetime gig at the NFLN if he went back to doing draft work, Senior Bowl, NFL Combine and also doing color for some college and NFL games.  I love his input.  I think he's great when it comes down to breaking down tape and also relating to the viewer.  He can be high strung and annoying at times but we just lost an all-timer in Madden who was the same way.  Not saying he's in Madden's league but he has some of the same techniques.

Add in Joe Banners twin sister getting hired as a GM and give us another 3rd.

Mike Mayock deserved a better fate. Raiders made the playoffs despite Gruden.

Would be interesting how many of those bad picks really were his or Gruden’s.

The whole "roll with Hurts" idea is stupid. I'd rather the team "roll with Minshew" for 2022

Id take him as a draft adviser any day of the week.

Im sure he will be hired by NFL Network by the weekend if not tomorrow.
