He had an injury plagued year in 2020 but in 2019 and 2021 he was awesome. He pulled a hammy last year, but was the hottest slugger in baseball at one point. Might’ve hit 50 HRs if he didn’t pull that hammy. Was on an absolute tear. And had a great playoffs for the Red Sox. I think he’s finally found his groove and he credits current Phillies hitting coach Long for helping him improve his stroke.

He also had injury plagued 2016 and missed games in 2017 and 2018. That’s another concern of mine. Frankly I’d prefer moving hoskins into a DH role and moving Schwarber to first in most games (occasionally let realmuto DH or play first and let schwarber play outfield). His defense in the outfield isn’t very good. Which means we still would need another outfielder. Our centerfield position is also a mess. Frankly klentak and the Phillies botches in haseley and moniak really hurt. 

Fully expect Watson to land with Falcons, maybe Saints. Either way he needs to decide because FA has been very slow and we have mocks to do.

Basically what I’ve been saying would happen. If the eagles could make this move and Deshaun would approve of coming here then the eagles would’ve been all about it. I think besides wanting to stay in the south they’re other reasons

Hey I’ve been saying for a year now there’s a chance we get stuck in a Qb purgatory where you are just good enough to make the playoffs but not bad enough to be high enough to select the QB you covet. Add on you might not have the assets in future years or player that wants to come here.

I agree with you. Realistically, aside from the Huggers, I think most of us are on the same page.

I think there’s some that just think a QB will become available and they’ll get him or they’ll just move heaven and earth to move up the draft like it automatically has to happen then. Meanwhile there might not be a team willing to trade down with you. Or a team giving up better assets. Or player doesn’t want to come. The theory we can just get the QB when the team is ready sounds great in theory. Until you can’t accomplish it due to things outside of your control. Not saying it happens. They might very well get that Qb then but there’s definitely a chance they wind up in a purgatory
