Would Lurie really want this scumbag to be the face of the franchise?

I walked away from the Eagles for two years when they signed Vick. I will do so again if they get Watson. That’s just me. I would not expect anyone else to do it.

Yep, I would totally understand somebody being put off by his off field stuff. I just, don't care enough about it I guess. I won't buy his jersey or anything else, but if he's here as our QB, I'll cheer for him on gamedays. That's about the extent of it really.

I wish every player we brought in could be a Brian Dawkins type, on and off the field. Life isn't so easy though, unfortunately.

It is pretty early, let's see after the senior bowl and combine. I'm sure this will be adjusted a few times. I would HATE the London pick. I would just take a Ohio State WR or Williams right there if they wanted one.

True - although the amount of information available now compared to the first draft I followed closely is staggering.

My wife stopped watching because of it. If not for Vick's honest, sincere rehabilitation I don't know if I would have been able to. He still does animal rights activism.

For Watson, it would honestly depend on what he does moving forward. If he says the women were shaking him down, then I'd be out.

He might have been told he'll get the Chiefs HC job if he waits for Andy to retire

He's already over 50 and Chiefs just extended Reid at the end of 2020. He'd be dumb.

Let's take a moment on this, the 4th anniversary (January 21st) to remember the 2017 NFCCG. What a great game that was, and it wasn't even the greatest game of that season!

Unfortunately, the official NFL videos won't embed but here's a few others, including some fan shot stuff at the game.

It's hard to believe that 4 years have already gone by!

I understand the compensation aspect may put some off of him. And truthfully, I don't want to give up multiple 1sts to acquire him. Howie has been decent enough at trades that I'd actually trust him to get that part right (which may be foolish on my part).

As for his contract, meh, that's the going rate for upper tier QB play. No issue with that.

As for his off field issues....well, I understand it will put people off. But I personally don't care. These players come and go, and much like celebrities, people get too invested. And then are ultimately disappointed when the person they've admired turns out to be a scumbag. Whatever Watson did or didn't do is up to the court to decide; it also lends him to potentially being discounted until it's cleared up. If the NFL clears him to play, then I have no issue if he's under centre for us next year (of course, compensation dependent).

It's no big deal if you don't think sexual assault is a thing.  If you are concerned about it, then you might find it impossible to root for a team that employs someone accused of that behavior.  It's not personal investment in the player.  It's a distaste for that behavior.  I am sure we have all unknowingly rooted for someone that was probably a rapist.  It's big difference to knowingly root for someone who is at least accused of the crime.

There's also a moral argument against from a utilitarian perspective as a player.  His behavior has already cost him a full season.  It will also likely cost him a substantial part of another season.  Having that kind of unstable behavior, like a drinking problem, is going to have further consequences that impact his on-field play.  Remember this was already in the context of his trying to force a trade.  How long before he tries to force some change with the Eagles and he's sitting in a driveway  doing sit ups or getting massages?  He's not worth it because it's almost as likely that he's out of the League or off the team in 3 seasons as he is a starting QB.

Every player carries some level of risk reward. And what of Ben in Pittsburgh? He's treated as a hero there yet....same exact thing really. So people can and do look past off field issues. I can separate the player from the person off the field, to me they are two different things. I understand that others don't separate the two.

Like I said, if the NFL clears him to start playing again, I have no issue with him being here. I would hope the Eagles have this part of things cleared up before making any significant investment in him.

Yeah you and I have a pending bet if you remember. We'll finalize it closer to the draft, but so much will change between now and then.

We do? What was it? Was it me or the other eagles?

Yeah, if we went corner early he wouldn’t be my first choice. The other two picks are great and/or delusional.

There is a difference between him and you though.  He actually worked in an NFL front office, and still has contacts there... and you don't.   Maybe he knows something that you don't.    Besides... there are "reaches" in the real draft, are there not?

Howie Roseman actually works in front office , so what’s your point ?

these guys are wrong as much as their right , I could hit 50 %

Very interesting 1st round mock. Lots of new names/places. Jeremiah is plugged in too.

I like Karlaftis. London? Nah. Green? To replace Brooks at RG, sure. I'm ok with DE, CB, G/C.

I like this other than Dotson.

Nope you. I felt we should/would use 3 firsts on defensive players, you thought otherwise. But we both agreed the bet would be nullified if they traded one of the picks away.

I started trying to talk myself into Watson but couldnt get there.

Its not just the allegations.  Its the sheer number of them and the fact that he has shown no remorse or contrition.  It makes me think hes a giant POS and I just cant go there.

Even aside from that, a team would be negligently stupid to trade for him not knowing if or when he'll even be eligible to play.

Take a 50/50 QB + 50/50 WR = 25% catch percentage. Lets go.

Oh yeah. I’m definitely still down for that. I actually look at it this way I think they’re going to take an offensive lineman if one is there. I think part of it is seumalo has been injury prone the last 2 years and they might be looking to upgrade over at right guard (I’m guessing they keep Dickerson at LG with how he played) and save the money. Then I can also see if Kelce doesn’t retire or does if someone like a linderbaum is there that they would take them thinking we are getting a potential pro bowl caliber center for the next decade when he does.

I kind of think the Eagles look at these first round picks is not just for next year but for the next 5 to 10 years. Which makes me think they would take offensive lineman if the value was there

I like Kinnard as the new RG. Maybe round 2

Agree they likely take Linderbaum.

Not my first choice for an outside corner

I know Some would be upset but I’d be Fing thrilled. I think that kid is gonna be really good. It is not too often you’re going to get Jason Kelce followed by a guy who might be a better prospect than what Kelce was coming into the NFL. I loved creed Humphrey. I think linderbaum is on another level from what he was coming out.

What don't you like about Dotson?  IMO he's very similar to Diontae Johnson from the Steelers. Very good hands, great route runner
