Name 5 bigger ones. I can't.

It was meant as a joke because people are saying Watson isn't a top 5 QB. I can't think of a bigger player trade unless you consider teams trading up in the draft for a player.  The Redskins trading up for RG3 was 3 firsts and 2 other picks.  The Rams trade up for Goff was 2 firsts and I think 2 2nd round picks.  I think this potential trade would be bigger than the Hershel Walker deal.

Nice deal for Godwin coming off that injury.

Devastating news for the franchise.  More years enabling the owner to be GM with his lackey in place as mouthpiece and always available fall guy if things crash too far.

Not surprising, as this owner would not have any interest in putting winning over his own desire to control what is happening and ultimately receive credit if he achieves success again.  He's never been held accountable for the numerous personnel failures, including the league-worst or 2nd to worst draft results over the last decade, or the most precipitous fall of a super bowl winning team with a young QB in NFL history.  No accountability means he can just keep the same deal going.  Eventually he and his lackey will be the last people left in the room.  Find more guys with emotional intelligence to support your "collaborative approach."

If the owner prioritized winning, Roseman would not have survived the last coaching fire.  Definitely should not have been around after things crashed due to personnel decisions and awful drafting, not coaching.  Now you can keep him around as you have to keep Hurts, because no one else (Wilson, Watson, Rodgers et al) will even consider coming here, and we know you can't draft anybody, and if you could it's unclear who here can develop someone anyway.  QB factory, indeed.  So you keep him around and now he can lead a "collaborative approach" for his 5th or 6th head coach, whatever it will be, because that makes sense.

It's difficult to see how success happens again, now that the game with the Eagles is largely up and people around the league know what is going on.  Personnel people who have achieved a certain level of success with the Eagles now seem to quickly look for exits.  The lackey is ridiculously trying to change NFL rules to limit future mobility for such employees, as if that would be remotely fair.  It's unclear whether they will be able to attract talented evaluators moving forward.  Most free agents no longer see the Eagles as an organization they want to play for, and that is a real shame because not long ago the team was viewed that way.   It is now a regular occurrence to hear about free agents that picked a team other than the Eagles.  Once the remaining team stalwarts retire or get traded, it could get pretty ugly.

FFS were only a few years out from a championship and people act like we've been the most poorly managed football team in the league. Plenty of criticism to go around but how many other teams would you want to switch FO's with for the long term?

Watson to the Saints makes it even easier to root against them. Will also be fascinated by the subsequent Panthers panic move.

When Howie is your GM what other choice do you have?

Howie deserves to be criticized plenty.   It's all fair game from over the years, but I think the Wentz maneuvering was pretty masterful (after he screwed up with Hurts pick).  Just biting the bullet on the contract was painful, but it will help in the future with what he got it return and cap opening.  They may have to do the same thing with Cox.

Minshew for their 1st round pick!!

The rumblings of Jags taking Hutchinson and Detroit taking Willis are getting loud...so if the Panthers strike out on Watson, would they take Pickett at 6? Two QBs in top 6 would be fantastic for us. Push those players down.

Wait...Hurts for their 1st!  I am brilliant.

Of course they will take Pickett at #6.  Tepper is a Pitt alum and donor and reportedly loves Pickett.  Rhule tried to recruit Pickett to Temple.

Howie with his new extension is going to think long term and trade up to #5 for Pickett now

If Howie were a lame duck GM he'd be more prone to making a splash move to try and save his job. See Pace and the Bears last season trading up for Fields.  Actual long term thinking and planning is to fill out the rest of the roster, especially the defense with some young building blocks.

But keep on with those mental gymnastics people.  I'm sure the denial that Hurts is the QB will persist until kickoff of week 1.

Howie struck out trying to keep the Super Bowl window open. He's admitted this. And, yes, the Reagor and Hurts picks were egregious.

But you run the risk of falling flat on your face when you go all in. Nobody's complaining about Golden Tate if the Eagles repeat in 2018. If the Rams had faced a legit Super Bowl team in the Super Bowl and lost that game, they're the dumb team that mortgaged their future and lost. They won, so we don't talk about that. We have "F them picks" memes.

The Doug Pederson micromanagement criticism isn't warranted. Imagine 2017 with a less involved analytics department. No Jim Schwartz. No Jeff Stoutland. A micromanaged Doug Pederson was a better coach than Pederson had any right being.

I probably would've fired Howie after 2020, but they didn't. He's done a good job since and there's no reason to shake things up right now. Tie him to Sirianni and rebuild this thing.

I hope you're right. There will be a team without a QB that will panic in RD1 for Ridder/Howell/Corral.

Yeah not warranted at all to criticize a GM for micromanaging a HC and how he calls games. What the heck

Panthers not even a finalist😅

Howie trading two of the 3 picks to get up to #4 for Pickett is probably just as likely as drafting 3 players at their current draft position.  I don't even buy the Giants saying they're sticking with Daniel Jones.  If there is a QB they like at #5 they could take one as well.

Howie could make a deal with Joe Douglas contingent on the first 3 picks going off without a QB taken, then with the Jets on the clock the trade gets announced.

From everything we've seen, Doug needed micromanaging. If you criticize Howie for Doug, criticize it as a bad hire.

I don't know if childish is appropriate.  At some point, I would think these types of non-compete rules run the risk violation of Anti-trust laws.
