The cap is rising over the next decade at a rapid rate, the Eagles will not be constrained by the cap from doing anything they need to do in 2023 or 2024

The cap discussions and projected space are based on numbers that the NFL has all but said will be the cap.  The Eagles currently have 40 million in 2023 cap space, this is based on the projected cap of 225 million.  It is not going to magically be 250 million for 2023, it will come in very close to, and probably not higher than 225.

The cap is rising discussion is dumb, we already have a 98% idea what it will be the next two years,

Riddick didn't. Watson wants some control over the roster. Do you see Howie ever giving that up? Honestly I wouldn't either.

I really don’t see Mickey loomis giving up control over the saints roster either tbh. Maybe he does want that, but I think part of that was dealing with the dysfunctional organization as a way to either get the power or force them to trade him.

Because you have the GM and HC playing RPS and Nerf Basketball with players?

Relax, just mixing it up.  Get bored with the same answer to the same question all the time.

Watson met with teams with bottom 5-10 rosters (Falcons, Panthers). He didn't choose teams that could win immediately with him (Eagles, Browns, Vikings pre Cousins extension).

A lot of players will chooe comfort over winning and that's their choice.

Win what? A championship? No.  There is no winning a championship with our defense with Watson.

Because Philly is a s-hole of a city?

No, the fans are terrible in Philly.  We can blame Howie but the real problem is the fans.

But there is a championship with a better D and Hurts as the QB?

Watson has rejected the two most talented teams trying to acquire him. Not sure what else needs to be said other than that. The Browns are legit SB contenders with Watson and he turned them down.

I'm not even a Howie fan, but people want to blame everything on him because it aligns with their agenda.

Apparently Haason Reddick never got the memo that the Eagles are the worst FO ever and free agents just don't sign in Philly.

Saints have an elite defense.  Not so sure that our roster is more talented.

I knew you or someone else would correct me.  That's why I said Nerf.

I have no clue what hoop they used tbh. Just think fisher price is 1 on the power rankings for combine hoops lol

I like Cleveland.  Not a metropolis, but that's actually what I liked about it.   Small town charm, at least the parts I went to.

It's possible.  But one things for sure a championship contending team is far more likely in the future of the next few years if we use this draft to add some young building blocks to the defensive side of the ball.  You build a better roster and you will have a better chance competing against contending teams.

Howie should bring in Watson... just one more layer of insulation for him.

Any city is fine if you have a bunch of money.

Would Watson sign the non-compete though?

Sure, just as long as the massage girls all sign non-disclosure agreements.

I actually agree with you on roster part (elite defense I’d argue good). The saints last year were missing a QB. When Jameis got hurt they were 5-2. After that they were 4-6. Their defense finished fourth in points per game allowed and seventh in total yards. Their oline is good (I’m guessing they find a suitable replacement for Armstead if he leaves). If Michael Thomas comes back and kamara doesn’t go to jail that’s two good weapons. And I expect them to likely bring in someone like  Robinson or will Fuller (apparently really good friends) who seem to be waiting on what Deshaun Watson is going to do.

   How much is a bunch of money?  My 10 year old base model Chevy would say that I am not exactly a Rockefeller.

Hilarious.

Saints were 7th in yards allowed per game at 318.2, Eagles were 10th at 328.8

Saints were 4th in points allowed per game at 19.7, Eagles gave up 22.6

Yards per play allowed, Saints 5th at 5.1, Eagles 7th at 5.2

I mean we're already screwing up the cap in the year 2034 so why not

I don’t think they had an elite defense but it was good. better than the eagles. They actually that hurt because Trevor Siemian and Taysom hill are worse at quarterback then jalen hurts and caught up to them in some games and put their defense in tough spots.
