That’s what made me bring it up. That team has way too much talent to be 10th in the eastern conference. I’m guessing they make some kind of trade this offseason

New Orleans has the better parlors for sure

Tbh there’s a chance Kyle pitts might not even be there if they deal watson to atlanta. If I’m houston I’m at least trying to get him in the deal.

No way that happens.  Watson would have nobody to throw to.

Can't wait till this deal goes down to see what a team gives up for him.  I can't see Pitts included though if it is Atlanta.

Well, Beta Bo, that's a false dilemma.  It's not a choice between celebrating those guys or doing it from happening.

The Eagles could do both.  Why wouldn't they want to protect themselves? They work to build and train their department.  It's not fun or beneficial to have everyone good poached year after year.

Yes total embarrassment

Can someone explain how Saints were able to clear all of that cap? Did players take less money? Are there a ton of void years on contracts?

So are we looking at...

Watson to Atlanta

Ryan to Indy

Jimmy G to Seattle

Jameis staying in New Orleans?

If I’m atlanta I’m not doing it with pitts involved. I’ve said this for a while, the only reason he wants to go to Atlanta is that it is hometown team. Frankly that roster with how it’s constructed and what they’re gonna have to give up is basically just the Texans 2.0 going forwad. They’ll be competitive (most years) cause they have him and the nfc outside of 5 teams is really just not very good. Just makes way more sense for him to go to the Saints with how the rosters are currently and going forward with lack of capital. Plus loomis is a better GM then what’s unknown in atlanta.

The difference between a team like the browns and saints and a team like the Falcons is the Falcons have a bad defense, a horrible o line and they lack playmakers besides pitts. They have all 3 things that are not good and they are going to lack draft capital going forward.

Cowboys having a disastrous offseason. Look out for the Patriots with this.

Did Watson say that?  I didn't see that reported.  Any franchise QB is usually given "input" for major moves especially involving the offense, but I'd find it tough to believe that Watson would ask for "control over the roster."

Reddick is a local guy.  Seems like he is the exception.

Seems like it would behoove the owner/GM to find out why they aren't winning the hearts and minds of free agents anymore.

How about he wanted a say in even higher up decisions https://www.espn.com/blog/houston-texans/post/_/id/25497/why-deshaun-watson-is-unhappy-with-texans-and-what-comes-next

I want the guy but I understand that we can't have everything we want

If I could be perfectly honest, if I was playing for the Texans and in his position (before his off the field issues) where they made me promises when i signed my extension and they become completely dysfunctional I would also like a part of the decisions going on.

Smart they need as many olinemen besides LT

Don't fool yourself, Lowie knows Hurts isn't the answer. They've been trying to replace him since at least last year (the offers to trade up for Z Wilson). They just haven't been able to....yet

To me, this makes all the difference in the world.

That we are stuck with a glorified running back as our starting QB in the first place falls on Lowie...but I suppose that is water under the bridge.  If they are just singing Hurts' praises to protect him and because no franchise wants to go into a season openly admitting they have no QB...then that's fine.  I understand you need to do that.  As long as they know he's not the answer, I don't care what they say; of course they should be verbally supportive.  Now, if they actually think he could be a QB on a successful NFL team, then we have much bigger problems than Hurts.

Jameis to the Colts makes a lot of sense. He fits that statue pocket passer mold. Just need to keep his boneheaded throw % to a minimum.

There are a lot of 2nd (or 3rd, deppending on your perspective) tier starting QB's on the move this offseason.  Is that because there is more starting QB dissatisfaction than usual and we can expect an early run on a mediocre QB draft class?  Or is that because teams do not intend to draft a QB this year and want to find their marginal improvement with flawed vets?

I have a draft question for the board.  Why is Jordan Davis now being shown as mid to late first round?  UGA is one of the teams I was able to watch a few times.  This guy looked like a big time difference maker, not just a heavy 0 tech, or 2-gap guy who can't move.  He impacts the entire game and in college he couldn't be single blocked.  I saw that he absolutely nutted the athletic testing... doesn't even seem possible at his size.

I've seen mocks with the Eagles passing on this guy three times.  It seems to be like he should be in the discussion in the top 5.

If the Eagles have to run it back with Hurts and compete for another wild card berth, and no draft QBs are worthy, I hope they can draft impact players at any position, and especially valuable positions.  Edge rusher, OL, sure, but a guy like this at DT impacts the entire defense in multiple ways.

Wondering if anyone else saw this guy similarly or if there is something I am missing about him.

If I’m the colts i try to get something with him done now with watson taking his sweet time. Cause if the saints miss out on watson I’m guessing that’s their fall back plan. so then you got to hope he decides between you and the saints but also more time goes by. However I’m guessing Winston won’t make a decision til this watson situation is resolved

Was wondering the same.   We have some smaller DE"s so getting a bigger DT makes a lot of sense.

Any team that trades for Watson is  not necessarily looking at the immediate future but rather the next 10 years.

Atlanta would probably stink for the next couple years until they can rebuild their team.  But at least they'd have a QB to build around.

I think he's a great prospect, I think he'd fit well in Gannon's Defensive scheme.

Big guys that move like him don't come around often.

I think he's the kind if player that one can build a defense around.

If he's there at 15 I'd take him and if he's still there at 19 it's a no brainer.

I'm sure Howie though instead will draft some rubbish QB a no name speed ball and a DB coming off injury☹️
