I didnt want to spend big on Robinson anyway. As soon as he loses just 1 step hes Alshon all over again.

Agreed, I didn't want to get involved with him. Read a lot on how he lost a step. Now was that an injury and now he's better? We shall see, but I didn't  think we could afford to take that chance.

No company, regardless of the industry, should try to prevent employees from advancing in that industry.  Whether it's within or a competitor.  It's bad business....but falls in line with his reputation.

I think the Eagles are campaigning to make that restriction league-wide. If I understand it correctly, the only restriction would be during draft season. People would be free to leave/move from the day after the draft until the next draft season, sometime after New Years I'd guess.

Why would they do that. Let the man play at his most successful weight and let him fly to the QB the he has been, and doing a great job at... Sounds like another, round hole square peg situation this team just loves to create.

That's what I was thinking, he's been most effective playing around 235 pounds, as a stand up 5th man rusher in blitz heavy schemes, not sure why one would ask him to gain 15 pounds when he's been highly effective at 235 unless one Intends to employ him differently than he has been in the past, which to me would be a mistake and as stated more square pegging

Holy crap

Who all has turned us down this week?

Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson*, Marcus Williams, DJ Chark, Christian Kirk, Allen Robinson, Justin Reid? More? Total embarrassment.

He’s a FA in 2023

He's not. His contract tolls.

Man, what the F.

This is not unexpected. The team is not competing for the division this year. WOnt, until we get a QB, and we have cap issues.

I didnt think we would be at first either, but I started to suspect Howie would turn there for a big splash after missing on Williams and the Ridley trade.

Im expecting Mathieu here.

What in the actual F

That’s surprising

Releasing Fletcher hurts. Was such a pillar for so many years.

In my view, this has been a problem with the Eagles defense for quite a while...the DC (whoever it has been) has simply been unable to devise defensive schemes to fit players skill sets...instead he seems to demand that the player changes what he is best at to fit in with the defensive system...Gannon is no different...

That is never going to end well, and makes good players average, and average plays bad. Let your good players do what they do best, and work with them, not against them!

No he will be on his 5th year option

Obviously just clearing cap space for Watson

Go turn on Madden and sign him there. Here in the real world, he's a 33 year old WR who serves no purpose on a rebuilding team.

He provides a veteran presence to an extremely young position group.  Brings a skillset/size that is absent from that position group.  He would be cheap.

You can't fill every role on a rebuilding team with good players in their prime.  Every year Howie adds cheap veterans on one year deals.  AJ Green could serve as a valuable lockerroom presence to the young guys on offense while also being a guy who can contribute on offense.  We don't need someone at WR to be the #1 guy, that is DeVonta and he needs to get more targets in year two.

Bye Cox. Thanks for being a great Eagle.

Surprised there was no trade. Interesting that there could be a possible return. Is no one going to be interested in signing him either?

Doesn’t mean Fletcher is gone gone, but it’s gonna hurt if I see him on another team this year. I get it from the Eagles side

That whole $2.12 mil they get to save. Lol

Chargers sign Cox is where my money is at

Damn, Howie waits until he gets his new contract before he starts shedding his bad restructured contracts.

Gained 2 million in cap space this year, 15 million dead in 2023.

So next year this is our defense:

D-line: Sweat, Milton, ????, ????

LB: Reddick? ????? ?????

CB: ?????? ??????

S: ?????? ??????

Could be the slowest out of the gate, but I would also say most boring Eagles FA period I can remember. This is dreadful.

Last years free agency of just Hargrave and then smaller one year deals weeks later was less boring?
