They could not trade him before June 1 with that contract, and that would be a ishy thing to do waiting and then trading him.

Based on the fact that there were trade enquiries, I very much doubt he doesn't get claimed by another team (with money)...his Eagles days are over! such a sad day to see a true Eagles star end his career like this...:(

He could have been traded in June for the same cap hit, and at least got a pick for '23...might not have been a great pick, but it would have been something.
