What’s curious is what happens going forward with future quarterbacks that become available on the market. In 2023 or 2024 if a quarterback of that caliber becomes available you are going to likely have to match at least what was given up in the Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson trade. And that value should only go up if both of those situation work out really well for those teams.

Now if you wanna go to the draft you better either be bad enough to be picking high enough to get a quarterback. Or have some luck along with your scouting taking one outside of the top 10 that becomes that good. Meanwhile to move up to get high enough to get a top 10 QB in draft it’s going to be a lot of compensation for a kid who is unproven could become burrow or could just be baker mayfield or Carson. 

it’s an interesting dynamic going forward at the position trade market and draft.

What a long strange road to get where the eagles and browns are. Eagles make the trade to get Carson wentz due to cleveland believing he wasn’t going to be a franchise QB. The eagles go on to win a super bowl and the browns eventually get baker mayfield. And now today the eagles have hurts and the browns have Watson and a SB contending roster.
