Karlaftis and ojabo? Nope

The nice thing about Ojabo is that despite being raw, we saw him win on the left and right side, with speed, cornering and spin moves.

And he was great at causing fumbles too. He’s really impressive.

The Las Vegas project is profitable but it’s failing too.  We are going to see this same story over and over. This dude just saw his teammate kill someone drinking and driving at a high speed.

This next hire by the Raiders is important. They need a guy who isn’t just a good coach but a GREAT role model.

Vegas is just too much fun. Seriously. I was in my 30s, living in Seattle making good money and I flew to Vegas 2x per month to party with my girlfriend who lived there. And I use the term "girlfriend" loosely because I'm not sure how monogamous either of us were....but she was a smokin' hot bottle service girl so whatever.

I can't imagine myself as a 24 year old multi-millionaire NFL player? I would have died of a drug overdose in an orgy about 3 weeks after being drafted.

The future of defense - blah schemes that play it safe.

Watched Jermaine Johnson. Nice player. Probably not good enough to pick with any of our three 1s but will be long gone by the time we pick in round 2.

He won at times with speed, but it was mostly hand-fighting (long arm, two-hand swipe) and effort. He seems to be a little stiff, like he lacks bend.

Watching Ojabo and him back to back and it’s no question which one has higher potential as a pass rusher. Johnson, though, looks like a solid DE2 who can also play the run well.

So definitely our pick at 15

Gut feeling is if Gannon leaves the Eagles won't get any of the top DC names.

Raw but amazing potential. Needs to add strength but hes a kid. Dont know if he can put his hand on the ground though. Fangio would drool over him

Agreed - JJ is a base end that can hold an edge and provide a bit of pass rush, but probably wouldn’t consistently threaten technically sound RTs.

They probably promote Wilson

Foskey was my top pass rusher  , but he returned for another year .

Probably. I would hope they get Wink or Vic. No clue on what Wilson would want to do with the defense.

Yeah, not confident he’s getting to 15 either.

Hope he's a better HC than DC.

Ojabo has somewhat of a Barnett vibe to me.  His best traits are burst and bend, lacking moves and winning with his hands and not a great run defender. I would not mind consecutive DE if Karlaftis is followed by Jermaine Johnson or Travon Walker.  But suspect Karlaftis will be gone by 15.

He was a great find by the Raiders, 5th round pick and played pretty damn awesome this season which Lovie said he would do back at Illinois. Arnette had issues back at college so his nonsense was more predictable.
This stuff going on is another reason the NFL and sports teams in general didn’t want anything to do with Vegas but now the Raiders are there, I would think every drafted, traded, signed FA, would have to go through extreme vetting, basically the opposite of how they vetted JaMarcus Russell.  FBI level background checks and anyone with a smudge but a franchise level QB, doesn’t play for the Raiders. Deshaun Watson? Likely not.

Guess where the 2024 Super Bowl is? It’ll be the Super Bowl known for both teams showing up on game day, lol.

He’s got a sick spin move. He’s far more athletic than Barnett.

Ojabo has the potential to play much more freaky given time.

Nice 34/olb class

Johnson was an OLB at Georgia and he dropped into coverage way more, than just covering a screen pass once in awhile at Florida.  Florida just let him attack from both sides.  I can’t find any tape but by most accounts he handled Neal back in 2020 when Georgia played Alabama.

Neal improved quite a bit this year.
