Its odd that he lists Penning as a G. He can definitely play tackle.

It is batshit crazy that Brisker is all the way in round 3.

Pickens should probably be up in round 2, not 3.

Thomas Booker in round 6... he could be a day 2 pick, but if day 3 its likely earlier than round 6 imo.

I dont get what he is doing with athletes. He has Troy Anderson up in round 3 which can only be explained by the athleticism. But Woolen is down in round 4. He has Chig Okonkwo all the way down in round 6....

I think Malcolm Rodrigues was a productive and very athletic LB for an elite defense. He should be higher than round 5.

Beavers should be higher than round 5.

He doesnt even list Bubbaa Bolden at S.

Verone McKinley could probably go round 3. I dont see round 5...

And my final critique, maybe the worst of all- Kyle Phillips is going to go well before round 6.

Thinkgs I like.

Elam in round 1.

Taylor-Britt recognition- up in round 2.

Cam Jurgens properly adjusted up to round 3.

Coby Bryant properly ranked up in round 3.

Castro-Fields given some recognition in round 4. You have to respect PSU DBs these days.

Important to note that is where he has them valued, not necessarily where any specific team might value a player.  That’s why the whole "Hurts was a third round value” plays out as wrong.  Eagles had him on their value board and believed another team picking between their second and third would grab him so they leapt, primarily because they valued a QB over a S at that point.  He readily admits in talking with personnel people in the league that some value players differently (like the Team A has Ridder as a first rounder - note, that doesn’t necessarily mean Team A will pick him.). For example, I could see the Eagles with a third ground grade on Jurgens, maybe. (Not totally convinced that ultimately Stout wants more bulk in the IOL.)

Interesting they call him LB.  Is he projecting more as a LB?  3-4 OLB?

DE in a 4-3, OLB in a 3-4.

You’re right of course, but I’m taking the "full recovery” prognosis of the tweet at face value

He probably has a really good chance of returning to his pre-injury function.  He also has an increased risk for another injury I believe. I don’t think the injury should impact the assessment of his potential but it makes him a riskier pick in round 1.

Pickens is not exactly seen as a good dude.
Rodriguez is a midget which is going to impact his value.
I have Beavers in R3.
McKinley I have as a R3-R4 guy.
Kyle Phillips will be gone by mid R5.

Bummer on Ojabo. Really wanted him at 15/16. Jermaine Johnson is now the guy. I also would not be opposed to trading up for Walker at all. If Walker and Johnson are not options, I just hope they bypass Karlaftis and go Mafe.

Thank you for that well thought out response. I see that NC education worked wonders for your intellect.

Thanks - To me the real issue is how positions like RB have a relatively short peak vs QB.  Having one position where the guarantees are more than 10 times another when there’s a rookie salary cap creates a labor divide.  I don’t think the current rookie wage scale is sustainable.

Ojabo saved us from the rumor that Howie was going to trade up for him.

I kind of hoped the Eagles would consider him.   I am guessing the draft and Nelson are the options.

We tried the torn Achilles thing with Sidney Jones and I doubt we go back to the well at this point.

A team can generally turn it around pretty quickly if they get some good pieces. Chargers and Bengals come to mind

What usually happens in those cases is the team has already added key pieces during their losing stretch, then they "suddenly" turn it around.

Eagles are in the second year of a rebuild, sure, they went 9-8 against a weak schedule, Cincy went 10-7 against a weaker schedule.

The best FAs (solid starters or better in their mid-20s) all went for $15-20M, Eagles got one of them, even with loads of cap room, at best you can land 3, and probably overpay for one of them - the other FAs are older "names" who got overpaid relative to what they'll provide 2-3 years down the road.

Both enabled by cheap rookie deals on qbs that are far superior to Hurts. Same thing wentz enabled.

Should have just parted ways.  Go full youth movement.

That is god awful.

What a waste of cap

Agreed - given I never understood his previous contract I hope this in some way allows him to be traded.

Otherwise, the band-aid was off… use/save the cap for the future.

Yep, terrible.

While it's probably not the best use of the cap there are ways to deal with respected veterans that reverberate positively and negatively.   This is a positive reverberation.  My opinion only so you don't have to try to educate me on why I am wrong.

Ok

you are wrong

PE.com needs to learn punctuation, unless they plan on using Cox out of the backfield.

Agreed. This may facilitate a trade but unsure why the recipient team wouldn’t have just…signed him.

Yep. Just an awful cherry on top.
