There are people who think that Dillard and a late pick is going to net us a good starter and a 2nd.

Come on now.

Dillard for Ja'Marr Chase.  Get it done, Howie.

I was told by multiple people we would and could get a nice haul for Dillard, yet here he remains.

Strange.

Ah yes let us praise this omnipotent football mind who foretold that no team would trade for Andre Dillard a week into the league year. We are not worthy.

Was hoping they’d address WR in free agency since they so suck at drafting them. They simply can’t afford to blow another pick on a bust WR. Jameson Williams is about a sure thing as it gets. Could see them becoming obsessed with a big guy, since they always do a theme every year. They fixate on a specific skill set and hammer it into the ground.

And S. I am hoping for Honey Badger, resign Nelson, a trade for Danielle Hunter, and a surprise WR trade. That plugs a lot of holes and further allows them BPA in the draft.

Nelson won't garner much interest in the FA...he's ok at best.  If the Birds don't come away with a CB in round 1 on draft day I expect him to come back then.

It isn't about being traded yet. Like I've said, if he was going to bring back that much he would be gone already.

Tbh, I'd rather keep Dillard for depth. The most I can see them getting for him is a 3rd

Agree. The price for Dillard is a 3. Worse than that, keep him.

Dillard could probably be a starting LT somewhere but he's a decent enough backup for us

That’s one way to spin it. I think another would be we made competitive offers and players preferred to be elsewhere. It happens. If we were in better cap shape, we could have topped those offers. It’s OK to splurge with the right player. I’m not saying go full-Jaguars.

Hopefully we get some steals in FA because it’s been disappointing so far.

Obviously the Eagles hoped/expected better themselves.

My guess is that the order in which players went mattered as well.

Likely that second options were signed before their first option decided where to go.

Draft is a month away. People often don't make these deals until they have a better idea how the draft board is going to unfold.

Sometimes they wait until the 2nd or 3rd rd, to see if they got the player they wanted or do they need to trade to fill that hole.

It only makes sense to splurge when you're one or two players away. Otherwise, stick with value.

It makes sense to splurge when acquiring a franchise cornerstone for the next 4-5 years too.

Was a young Dawkins available in FA this spring?

A cornerstone isn't a solid starter, it's a perennial pro bowl/all pro player. And teams rarely let these guys hit the market in their prime years.

Marcus Williams would have been the cornerstone of our back seven. We made a competitive offer and missed. What would you have said if we signed him?

They did say publicly their off season goal was to surround Hurts with talent, much like they said they would with Wentz.  I suppose getting Ridley would have been a step in that direction but they did not pivot well from that situation.

You

I’m going to guess Cox ends up having a real good year. Probably about 7-8 sacks and ends up making the pro bowl. Then signs a big 3 year deal elsewhere and fades quick.

"We’re only a player or two away so it was great value for Howie to splurge on a big ticket guy.”

More and more i am feeling like Zion will be  our last first round pick

Brian Westbrook on Facebook posted a picture of him standing next to Jordan Davis.

And says, thank goodness I'm retired.

Davis dwarfs him.

It’s absurd but Bwest’s 40 time was only marginally faster (4.59 v 4.78).
