2 of my Final Four picks were knocked out the first round.  UConn and Kentucky.  Who saw that coming?!

I think they did target Reid.  But, if you have the choice between KC and Philadelphia... where are you going right now?

Meanwhile, my Cougars easily handled the Illini to go to the sweet 16. If the Horned Toads can beat Arizona, real potential to offer up some grief to a couple of the wife’s cousins that went there.

I can't lose another Final Four pick.  lol

I'm not really on the same page as everyone else with respect to WR.  There seems to be a push for a bigger possession WR.  I think that's the last thing we need.  This is already a very constrained, unexplosive offense.  A reliable, sturdy possession target may help to make a bad passer less bad, but we are just committing further to the construction of an iron ceiling for the potential of this offense.

Devonta Smith is a slick route running intermediate range target: gets open nicely, toe-taps the sidelines, etc.  He is not a burner, does not really take the top off deep, and is not one of those guys you force the ball underneath for those explosive YAC plays because you want the ball in his hands.

Adding a better version of JJAW or Jeffery to this offense will take us nowhere.

Devonta Smith really should be paired with a vertically explosive threat.  And the offense still needs a weapon in space; we lack that one player that puts the defense on its heels and freezes them the second he possesses the football.

This need isn't something that MUST be addressed this offseason.  It's fine to wait until we have a passer who can actually make use of it.  But I also wouldn't waste resources in possession types to marginally improve the WR corps either.

So Watkins is too slow?   A big, agile route runner who catches everything and that might open up the middle more for Hurts would be a bad pairing with Watkins and Smith.  In what world are Smith and Watkins slow.  No one is asking for a slug but your constant need for speed at WR seems a bit misplaced.   You must hate Kupp.

If the Eagles don't add talent in the back 7, this sight will look mighty familiar in 2022.

True. But also, could you imagine having a QB that could get the ball out that quickly?

Eagles 2022 schedule shaping up to be on the easy side with the the movement in free agency of the offseason.

Let's say Eagles go 3-3 in the East.  I see 7 to 8 wins outside of the NFC East as of right now and this before the draft and the rest of free agency for the Eagles.

Washington x2 - They got Wentz but he's very boom or bust.

Giants x2 - didn't upgrade at QB

Cowboyx x2 - Lost Amari and Wilson.  Randy Gregory left town.  Might lose Collins.

Bears - suck

@ Lions - Suck

@ Texans - Suck

@ Colts - Traded Wentz and have no backup replacement plan.  Any replacement at this point isn't going to elevate that team that much.

Packers - Lost Devonte but Rodgers will still shred us.

Vikings - They should actually be pretty good in 2022.

Jaguars - making a lot of signings and got Doug but should still be a winnable game although it will also be the Doug revenge game.

Titans - Cut Julio.  Feels like their window might be closing.

@ Cardinals - Lost Chandler Jones.  Murray becoming a bit of a diva distraction who wants a monster contract.

Steelers - Ben retired and they replaced him with Mitch Trubisky

Saints - Went all in on Watson and came out empty handed.  Marcus Williams walked.

Commies have a nice defense and they'll have Young back. I see us splitting

Giants are still a mess but Jones still beat us once. We could split

Dallas may have lost some but I don't see us sweeping them

I agree with the rest up until Jags. I think Lawrence improves big time

Julio wasn't the Titans. It's all about Henry

I think we lose to Cards unless they somehow have to trade the QB

I honestly have no idea about Steelers. Claypool had those few FF weeks that he was on fire but kind of disappeared. Plus the new QB isn't scary. They need a restart

They still have Kamara(who knows if he'll get suspended) and Thomas. Also F the Saints. I also don't think it'll be an easy game

Watkins is not too slow.  But he's also not often used.  Getting that big slow WR you want will make Watkins and his vertical game in less utilized.

You want a big "agile" WR...well, the big WRs with meaningful agility go in the top half of round 1.  I'd love one of those too.

If you want a sluggish possession WR, that will congest the middle of the field, not open it up.

You must hate Ty Hill.

2nd and 3rd may have gotten it done.

Alec Pierce, Christian Watson and George Pickens are not slow. 4.46, 4.36 and 4.47 respectively. Fast, good verticals and great catch radius. If it was up to you, we’d have 3 John Ross’s.

Hate is a strong word.  Dude is not at all likable though.  But, maybe it's just me that doesn't like folks that beat pregnant women.

If you're ranking NFL positions by importance in general, where does WR rank in today's NFL? #4 after QB, OT, DE?

And I can say, if it were up to you, we’d have 3 JJAWs.

You can’t just pick a bad fast wr and say that’s what I want to build around.

The football player, obviously.  We all don’t like Hill.

Sorry, I have a hard time separating the two.

DT and S rank before wr for me

Everyone is projecting Pickens in round 2. Silly. Hope we get him.  Hes that guy.

I just like mocking people who think 40 time is the most important thing to a successful WR. It’s like 3rd at best.

Good question. In today’s league, you can make an argument that WR is number 2. I personally think it’s 3 behind DL as a whole.

How often do you send 3 WRs deep? And even better, how often does that work?

Most pass plays are 3 seconds, that means the WR doesn't get past 20 yards, you want at least one WR who is quick and agile (i.e. screw his 40 time), can shield the ball with his body, and snatch with his hands. Avant made a nice living going one yard past the 3rd down marker, turning around and winning all the battles with DBs.

With teams going to 2 deep looks more and more (see the playoffs) the ability to consistently move the chains will become increasingly important as the deep ball is taken away from offenses - and that means getting open quickly underneath and run blocking by WRs.

Hines Ward ran a 4.55 40, and outplayed 100s of WRs who could beat him in a 40 yard dash.

Same with Isaac Bruce.

Would rather have a Great OL with good WRs or a Good OL with great WRs!

I’m taking the great WRs.

I forget if it was posted last night but Rams let Woods pick what team he wanted to go to. And since Philly reportedly were in on him, I guess he passed on us. List keeps growing.

I think they are trending to be ahead of DE, if not already ahead to begin with.

I think it’s silly to rank a list of the most important things for a wr.  Every wr is unique.

If you disregard speed and just want big bodies that beat press coverage, you’re going to have a slow offense that requires 18-22 plays to reach pay dirt….and forget about coming back when you are down 2 scores.  We’ve been there, recently.

If you only look at 40s and disregard the rest, you’re going to have a bunch of raw guys with poor timing who run the wrong routes and give you an agonizingly unreliable offense.

If 40 time were all important, Cooper Kupp could not be successful.  If 40 time were not important, they wouldn’t run it.
