Seems a little overkill no ? They would have their "big back" back with Fournette or Robinson, then Duke and Singletary.

I look at it as you can't count on Sanders to be healthy. So Fournette, Robinson and Gainwell would be a nice trio. I'd look to try and move Sanders if possible too.

For the "just trade up for Young or Stroud" in 2023 crowd:

It's not happening. The Falcons are going to be horrendous, they will pick much higher than the Eagles and are more of a candidate to trade up. If they even need to. They could be the worst team in football next season. And there's no way they're trading down. There will be too many other bad teams without QBs as well.

So peering into the future, as of right now anyway, barring someone stepping up and changing the 2023 QB draft landscape unexpectedly(which is possible I guess) your best chance to fix the QB problem is the 3rd best QB from the 2023 class.

I wasn't a fan of him going first overall, but Cleveland gonna Cleveland. My view on this is simple -- we know Hurts isn't the guy. Something like a conditional 4th for Baker at a reasonable price for one year? I'd be OK with it. Maybe...just maybe this gets him motivated and focused like when he walked-on in college. If he plays well, we bought cheap and can either re-sign or flip him. If he doesn't, we get out it with no further liability after one year (and maybe a comp pick if someone else signs him).

I don't see the point to running it back with someone we know isn't the guy. Might as well see if we can get lucky with a reclamation project since there is no long-term commitment. If nothing else, maybe he helps Smith and Watkins.

I don't know that Mayfield would do anything to move things along here. I don't think he's the answer.  He has more potential upside as a passer but I think he's not someone that I would take over a first round rookie next season.

Reports are that like Osweiler, the BROWNS may have to be the ones to throw in a pick with Mayfield for someone to take on his salary. 7th and Reagor for Mayfield and a 3rd?

Lol OK this I'd do. If we can offload Reagor, I'd do that in a heartbeat!

We were talking about Buffalo.

I'd trade for Baker. I don't think the Eagles will see his upside as worth it, but I think a healthy Baker would be a good player here.

The word you're looking for is dbag.  That's what he is.  So is Kyler Murray.  When you have Rodgers overall talent and you're a dbag then it's more tolerable, but neither has anywhere near that talent.

Tbh I really didn’t love Kyler Murray coming out either. I thought he’d be successful as a top 15 QB with potential too 10. However I think he’s super overrated and been saying that for about three years now. It’s the same thing with him every year. He starts out the season like gangbusters. Then midway through the year he suffers a injury and is not the same the rest of the season.

I think Atl takes Willis in the draft this year.

He lead Cleveland to a playoff win in 2020, so it's a hell of a lot more likely. Baker showed real growth in 2020, then regressed badly last year. If he can be had for next to nothing, I'd take a look.

Again, he played with a shoulder injury since week 2 of last season. I don’t think he regressed, he was just playing hurt all year. I remember fans complaining that the Browns wouldn’t shut him down.

Well that's silly.

This is my point. If this is actually true, and we can get Baker and a 3rd for a 4th or something...of course we do that.

They'd be crazy to given they're going to be even worse next season and will be in a better draft spot in 2023 which is a better QB class. But if they want to be that dumb, then that benefits the Eagles obviously. Still don't think trading up for anyone in 2023 is all that realistic regardless though. The price is going to be too rich.

Yeah, I'd definitely roll those dice. The question then is what do you do with Hurts? We'd be in the same situation as Cleveland where teams know we need to offload him. Who would be interested? Atlanta? Seattle?

The Eagles would have to believe he is a franchise quarterback in order to make that move even for fourth round pick. I look at this way, i believe it’s gonna cost them $19 million this season to have Baker Mayfield on the roster. Would I rather have Baker Mayfield if the Eagles don’t believe he’s that guy but he’s just better than Jalen hurts or would I rather have that $19 million to roll over in the 2023 to add guys then who could help my team long term in 2023? I’d rather go with the latter

Baker, the player, I agree. But Baker the human being with feelings and emotions.. there’s no WAY he could handle the fans or media in this city. Not even for one game

Wonder if Julio might follow Ryan to Indy.  They need a WR although hes almost certain to miss several games.

Their identity is running the ball with Taylor.  Ryan can play action off that all day.  He doesn't need to pass 40-50 times a game and Julio doesn't need 15 targets.

The bridge.

and he's not Hurts

That would be my concern. He may be just too mentally fragile and immature to handle Philly.

You'd hope Howie was smart enough to have a deal for him worked out in advance. I wonder if you could move Hurts to a place like Seattle or Atlanta (if they don't sign Mariota).

So we know our QBC was at Pickett's Pro Day.  Do we know if any of our staff was at the Nevada Pro Day to watch Strong, Doubs, or Turner?  I did a search online and didn't find any info about what teams were attending their Pro Day.

The Philly media would own real estate in Mayfield's head if he came here. He's one of the softest guys out there when it comes to that stuff.

I'm thinking this too.  They aren't going to win anything especially with Tom back.  Draft Willis, develop him, take your lumps and get higher picks to rebuild your team.
