At least Reid can get back to his personal status quo of fielding bad to mediocre WRs.

All I ask for is a "we're fine there" in reference to the failings at WR next season for them.

He's a 28 year old speed receiver who wanted an extension to carry him into his early/mid 30s. He's better than DeSean, but as a comp -- DJax fell off a cliff starting with his age 31 season. He's not the type of guy who lasts into his mid 30s.

This is a fascinating trade.

Hill is the best, most dangerous weapon in the NFL...in this entire generation of NFL football.  He erases angles, makes plays with his quickness underneath, takes the top off deep, puts the entire defense on their heels, and opens up everything.

The 2 biggest questions facing the Chiefs have always been...when will Hill slow down and how will Mahomes & Co handle it?  On one hand, think of how far back the Chiefs would fall without the superhuman play from Hill.  On the other, think of how lucky AR and Mahomes are to cash out a 28 year old Hill for an enormous glut of picks to aggressively draft more WRs for the next generation.  It felt like the party might end for them with the decline of Kelce/Hill, and now they get a chance to extend it with the fastest WR draft class in history.

I get it’s a crazy haul and contract, but I feel fans say that every year. By the time the team has to worry about it, caps have gone up, moves can be made, and we’re all scratching are heads going "with what money?!” "For that price?! Let "x” team have him”

Moving on, when is Michael Pittman Jr. available? 🤣

I'd consider it if we had a QB. Hurts to Hill would be a disaster.

Yards per catch went down, but still had similar stats to career stats. Hard to replace that and coaches having to game plan specifically for that weapon. A rookie WR will not come in and do any of that. They had a Superbowl window there and closed it early. Kelce also getting older.

We almost have not only all of 2022/2023 covered, but also 2023/2024! Not quite fully there for 2023/2024 at the moment, but with the various income streams that we have going (Rakuten, Amazon, Fanatics and AdSense), we can pretty well count 2023 as being covered. So that carries us all the way to April 2024.

Chiefs drafting Jameson Williams now.

They were getting further away from their window already; lost to the Bengals twice in the same season.  Good front offices recognize that.

Hill's contract demands put him out of range with where a talented team can go -- everyone has to fit into the overall cap, and when you have a bunch of talented guys in their prime (including the cap space Mahomes takes up) it doesn't make sense to give one WR $30M of it.

The Chiefs will...still win the AFC West.

What would a trade with KC look like? #15 + 51 for 29 and 30?

No way. It would be 15+4th rounder for 29 and 30.

Chiefs are lucky he chose Miami

There are a ton of WR's in this draft that can replace Tyreek Hill.  Chiefs offense started to get figured out when the took the deep ball away from Hill.  This may actually be good for them.

I hear you, but he still has a few good years left. And is a certainty. Could work that 30M out like Howie does to make it all work. These draft picks are a crap shoot. Only one 1st round pick in that haul and a lower one at that. Short to midterm, they probably just wasted Mahomes next 2 years. That offense won't be near elite.

Eagles should just get Parker now, I doubt he costs a lot at all with his injury history.

No thanks

Nope.

OCT trade value chart

29 and 30 worth 2570

15 and 51 worth 2389

15 and 4th worth 2099

Hmm...

The problem though is he is not what the other 25+m$ WRs are. He is more than a 1-trick pony, but he is far from a complete #1 WR. So while his schtick is dangerous, is he really the most dangerous weapon in the NFL when he's never been top 3 in receiving yards and his last 1300 yard season was 4 years ago?

Then you can turn the debate into how much he opens up the offense and allows Kelce to do what he needs to, but I think I agree with KC that an offensive decoy isn't worth 30m$ annually.

So in that sense, I think Deandre Hopkins is the more dangerous weapon as it doesn't really matter if you double him or put a guy over the top; he'll open up the offense AND beat the coverage they have on him consistently.

KC might end up regretting trading Hill, big time. He might be the most game breaking WR in the history of the NFL, someone who completely changes how the defense must play.

Not to mention he was the perfect fit for Mahomes' skill-set.

Chiefs 29th and 30th for one of our Teen picks so the Chiefs can get the EXACT WR they want in this draft

We'd have to throw in more than that, but I do like trading down with 15 or 16.

Most likely.

WR salaries have now caught up to where QB salaries were in 2018-2019.

Damn Jaguars ....  this wave of signings will move WR up in the draft.

Id feel much better about drafting a WR at 29 or 30 then one in the teens. Not only because we've done it 2 consecutive years, not only because the late-first/day-two WR crop is really strong this year, but also because there are so many gems that will be available in the teens at much more valuable positions.

If we do draft a WR at 29 or 30, please be Williams or Watson.

If the Eagles trade down I think they'll want a 2023 1st. If it's unlikely they use all 3 of those this year, don't know how it would make sense to trade down for two more of them.

Christian Watson? Hes my pet WR this year, but I think he'll be available on day 2 for us, Maybe even the third round.

We could do both. Draft Jordan Davis at 16; trade 15(and 51?) for 29 and 30; trade 19 for a 2022 3rd and a 2023 1st

Ignoring off the field issues, character, and age....I would take Hill over any other WR, RB, TE in the NFL without hesitation.  He takes over games and destroys game plans in ways that Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, Davante Adams, and others absolutely cannot.  Those 6'2" all around #1s are great and they pile on the yardage totals with modest ypc and explosiveness stats.  Hill is a cornerstone of an NFL-changing offense.

I guess there's no better proof of his worth than the 2022 season. Will be interesting to see what happens with both teams
