No. It's bad, period. 

No one out there wanted him when historically any somewhat decent DE gets paid. The team didn't improve, at all. And he's just going to take up snaps from someone else that could potentially have a future and actually improve the team.

The off-season plan is actually good. Don't push any chips in because we, rightfully, don't have full confidence on Hurts. If Hurts bombs in 2022, we're in good cap shape to make moves. If Hurts is the guy, then we push some chips for 2023. 

It'll just make for a relatively bland off-season except for the draft.

So they had an out with Fletcher Cox but brought him back for $15 million.  

They FINALLY don't have Barnett under contract and sign him for 2 years.

They bring back Greg Ward and Boston Scott before the 2nd wave of FA starts.

Howie was in his final year and he gets 3 more years.

Honestly, this might be one of, if not the worst Eagles offseason in recent memory.

Uh... no.    Barnett gets more penalties than he does positive plays.  He's a net negative.   This is a bad move, at any cost.

So purposely not even trying to give Hurts a chance by putting a good team around him or build up any of the other 52 for the next guy and purposely wasting a year is a "good plan".

He’s going to be very expensive for just a body. Rebuilding or not, this makes zero sense.

If I see Reddick lined up off ball just once because of Barnett...

 

 

He already counts as $8M dead this year + whatever his new deal is, but yea, great move.
