I'd rather have draft picks, UDFA or guys who haven't panned out from other teams.  Barnett isn't going to have some magical change in his game.  He's a personal foul waiting to happen.  We know exactly who he is. 

If it's a throwaway year, at least bring in guys who we don't know about or might have potential.  This is a trash offseason.

It'll just make for a relatively bland off-season except for the draft.

That part is good.  Bringing Barnett back is bad.  Not neutral, it is bad and there's no way to slice it.  He hurts more than he helps.  We'd be better off bringing back Avery as a pure DE.  

 

There's no confidence in Hurts, nor should there be, but bringing back bad players because of your familiarity with them isn't a good plan.  They could have moved on from Cox, but chose to run it back with him.  Would have made for more flexibility for 2023 had they just let him go hunt for another ring elsewhere.  Bringing in Reddick?  Fine.   No guaranteed money for Ward.  Fine.  Pascal to finally push JJAW off the roster.  Whatever.  

I've got no issue with punting on free agency, but bringing back Barnett... that's just stupid.

Maybe.  Im not getting worked up about this off-season until the draft.  They were never going to make any big moves in FA.

The Eagles EASILY have gone in to the draft and taken 2 DE in the first 4 rounds.  Now they have Barnett, BG, Sweat, Reddick (DE/LB), Williams (DE/DT) all on the edge.  This tells me they either don't think any of the top edge players will fall to them or they are planning a trade up for Pickett using their 3 1st round picks.  

Absolute garbage move bringing him back...and for multiple years!  What a joke this is.

surprised about Barnett, but it all depends on the contract... and yes I think it does indicate they may be targeting a move up for a QB.

Possible. Signing Barnett to 2 years is not a "cover your bases entering the draft" move. It's more of a "sign a starter because were trading these firsts" move.
