I’ve viewed Barnett for a few years now as a thrift store Brandon Graham. The nicest thing you can say about him is run defense is his strength, but he doesn’t have nearly the pass rush BG does.

What I want to see for our Dline rotation is this:

Sweat-Barnett (mostly on short yardage)

Hargrave-Williams

Cox-1st round pick

Graham-1st or 2nd round pick

 

if we can get our 8 man rotation  back in proper order, the Barnett signing can be advantageous to us. He doesn’t have to play as much as he has in the past, and we now have the numbers to be able to play him to his strengths.

It’ll be interesting what Barnett’s contract ends up being. Dallas re-signed Dorance Armstrong to a two-year, $13M contract. He had five sacks in 2021 and 7.5 for his career.

Corral release is quickest I've seen in a while, wish his Intel core processor was as fast, he's so far a one read take off running but he has better passing tools than the current one read and run QB on the roster 

I don't think Muma is much of a hot take seen plenty of mocks on here with eagles taking him in the 2nd.

It’s the same thing. These guys build bonds with each other. They’re not gonna dog out their friends. For instance, Devonta Smith is gonna support his friend, but he even showed frustration when he was missed or not even looked at when he was running wide open. In his heart, he knows he could’ve been helped a lot more. But throwing his friend under the bus in public isn’t gonna fix anything.

Do we though?  Look at what he just signed for and what Blount signed for in 2017.   Signing Scott before the draft was unnecesssry.

He's got a lot of energy pre-snap and after the ball is released.

The Barnett extension is not popular, but for the right money, it's also not crazy.

We have no idea what we are going to get from Graham.  Sweat is an elevated injury risk.  It sounds like Reddick is going to have a separate role and won't really be a big part of the base DE rotation.

Someone has to play DE.  Or do you want to go into the draft telegraphing to the entire NFL you are taking the best DE on the board in round 1?

Howie LOVES to quickly band-aid all the big needs pre-draft to become less predictable and to gain flexibility during the draft.  That's a smart strategy.  Unfortunately, it almost never translates to good draft picks.  But it's a good strategy nonetheless.
