Gotta imagine the fact that we haven't heard the contract details yet for Barnett is a good sign price wise.  Any time someone gets funny money it's leaked ASAP.

Can’t wait for his Tweet when Denver cuts Singleton in TC, and Howie resigns him the following day.

Boston Scott is fine.  He makes plays when called upon.  We get our moneys worth from him.

Yeah sure.  And there were a lot of upgrades available in free agency.  Still are upgrades available even at this point.

Dumb re-signing. Especially as early as it happened.

And there are upgrades through at least round 5 of the draft.  Maybe later.

The Barnett extension is not popular, but for the right money, it's also not crazy.

We have no idea what we are going to get from Graham.  Sweat is an elevated injury risk.  It sounds like Reddick is going to have a separate role and won't really be a big part of the base DE rotation.

Someone has to play DE.  Or do you want to go into the draft telegraphing to the entire NFL you are taking the best DE on the board in round 1?

Howie LOVES to quickly band-aid all the big needs pre-draft to become less predictable and to gain flexibility during the draft.  That's a smart strategy.  Unfortunately, it almost never translates to good draft picks.  But it's a good strategy nonetheless.

Should have signed someone else at DE.

Yep.  Done with this first round bust.

There’s a possibility Barnett might not even make the final 53

I say pay him commission. Every game without a penalty…$100k. Every game with 1 sack…$100k. Every game with a sack and no penalties…$1M. We all know that ain’t gonna happen so make it high.

Pascal will apparently wear #11

Bro he's gotta make at least league minimum, stop being unrealistic

For how many catches he will have this season

Isn't that a bit optimistic?

Avatar bet that he’s above that? I’ll take that action.

Just read that we might be in for Devonte Parker? No thanks!

Barnett blows, but he's only 25. Here's hoping that he can be a decent rotational end and didn't cost a ton.

Not holding my breath for either.

Yeah a sport is "war”

The Eagles not kicking the tires on any other DE on the market is where the issue lies with the Barnett signing.  He's not the only 25 year old DE out there.  Arden Key is coming off a year with 6.5 sacks, is 25 years old and still on the market, but we didnt even sniff him, just went with the guy we know.  And why?  Because we know him.  Familiarity seems to be the key element to bringing in amy free agent.  We brought in two players from outside organizations. 1 is a Philly guy, the other is a former player of the HC.  It's almost as if they don't have a pro football scouting department.

Also the issue with Boston Scott.  Signed too soon and never even looked into another option.

And that would be fine but Barnett hurts this team. He’s been a walking penalty waiting to happen. He just doesn’t get it and apparently neither does the FO.

exactly my issue.  Add to that the fact that Scott, Barnett and Ward weren't being pursued and could be signed after the draft makes it that much worse.  Don't even bother seeing how the draft falls, who becomes available via trade during the draft....just bring back your scrubs.

We don’t know that the team didn’t check into other options at DE or RB. In all likelihood they did but didn’t like the numbers they were hearing. In Barnett’s case, they have simply preferred him to what’s left. Key had character concerns previously and apparently is a poor run defender with his best pass rush success at DT.

I think there is merit to the thought that the team should have waited out the market at RB. Maybe they should have waited it out longer at DE, but we won’t really know until we see Barnett’s contract or some of the others that eventually sign.

They signed the best, young EDGE in the FA class.

Ward signed a minimum contract with zero guaranteed money. Why bother waiting to sign him to that deal?

As for Scott and Barnett, we really have no idea if they were being pursued. I know you’re going off a lack of report, but that doesn’t mean teams weren’t sniffing around. I think we can surmise that the interest wasn’t heavy however. That’s a fair assessment.
