Agreed. Pointless...jersey sale only signing.

Heading into the season at this point with where it stands at starting QB for teams in the NFC currently I'd rank Hurts as 8th best in the conference.  I expect him to make a substantial jump in his 3rd year.  This should be the season that really shows what he will be as a NFL player.  I think it's possible that he jumps as far up as 6th best in the conference this season.

1. Brady
2. Rodgers
3. Stafford
4. Prescott
5. Murray
6. Cousins
7. Wentz
8. Hurts
9. Jimmy G
10. Mariota
11. Winston
12. Daniel Jones
13. Golf
14. Lock
15. Fields
16. Darnold

Say we have Slay and Gilmore as our 1/2.  We upgrade DT with Davis, grab a DE like Jermaine Johnson II, Safety like Brisker, and LB in Muma.

Just curious how would they be screwing him over?

He didn't capitalize 'hurts' .... so I suspect he's actually talking about Reagor

He’s 9th at best on this list. Likely 10th. If you add in the AFC he’s probably like 20th in the league at best.

Even if he takes a step forward, it will always be after he rolled to the right and ran. He hasn’t improved his decision making, ability to read defenses, and deep throw accuracy at all through college and NFL.

Because we are going all in with Hurts.

Gilmore is pointless. Stop. Rookie/McPhearson will be most likely #2, with a chance at bringing back Nelson. Tying cap up in a second 31 (32 years old in September) year old CB on this roster is so dumb I can't even insult you well enough.

Just you wait, he’s gonna take a massive leap next year from where he is now to not being top 5 in a bad QB conference

I think Garoppolo is a lot better than hurts, and I’m not a hurts hater by any means. Other than that I mostly agree with your list

Why were his turnovers down last year compared to his rookie year if he hasn't improved his decision making and ability to read defenses?

They turned into a run first offense and called plays that were designed to accommodate his limitations. His ability to read defenses arguably got worse, and his worst game ever was his most important — and the cherry on top is this:

There's a better chance that Hurts will be #13 on that list after this season than top 5.

Yikes

I think he did throw the ball away rather than trying to force a throw and that was him responding to coaching.  I also think he protected the ball better getting sacked.  I don't think that is the type of decision making that shows he is making progress making the right read in a timely manner.  His time to throw did not improve.  It was worst in the League while playing in an offense that had a lot of read option, screens and other short passes.

Because they went to a run heavy offense, and his 23.75 attempts per game in his last 8 games was last in the NFL.

Put Jimmy on a team that isn’t run run run for the first time in his career and he may surprise some people

Is this stat a thing? Does it take into account a qb extending a play?

He was vetoing teams in cold climates that don't play in domes to saying Cleveland was where he wanted to be all along. That's rich.

At least Jordan Matthews was honest about Buffalo. Nothing to do but make babies and leave after the season

Any offense with a young inexperienced QB ins his first year starting and first year in an offense would be wise to lean on the running game and try to accommodate that young inexperienced QBs limitations.  It's called good coaching.  That's how you properly develop someone and bring them along.  He played bad in that Bucs game but so did mostly everyone else on the Eagles except for Kerrigan of all people.  Bucs were a great team that if not for Cooper Kupp breaking deep in the final minute of the game they probably would have repeated as champs.

In the most important game of the regular season though he stepped on a busted ankle and played a productive and promising passing game.

Probably won't surprise people in the good way seeing as how often he throws absolute bonehead interceptions when he does throw.
