Just looked out the window to enjoy the sight of the pigs flying by.

I think pig wings are generally under appreciated culinarily.

I think Brisker is fine value at 19. I also think in most drafts without such a great CB class, Elam is perfect there too. You might be able to trade down a bit for him. But Im totally fine with either guy in that spot.

I do think Travis Jones should slot in lower than that.

Brisker would be a horrible pick at 19

Why’s that?  Dude is solid all over the field

I’ve seen these a few times on BBQ channels and always want to try but never see them anywhere.

Dax hill is a far superior prospect.

brisker is a second rounder at best. Not a great tackler. Dont think he can cover single high. I dont value box safties anymore. At least not until day 3

That sounds like a commitment to primarily zone, you don't need top speed, you want length, tackling and ball skills - gee, didn't we draft someone like that a few years ago?

So don't get fixated on 40 times, Sherman ran a 4.6.

Zone?  Cover 3? Cover 4? Or Tampa 2?  Cover 2?  Cover 6?  Clearly not Cover 0. But what about the Saban/Belichek Cover 1.  The Ss or sometimes the LB switch on there underneath cover.  .  Any press?  Off man?   When they say the Eagles led the league in zone coverage last year, that is pretty much correct.  But there is some naïveté to that statement.  But do you really think Gannon and Wilson want to be limited primarily to Cover 3 (Schwartz ran a lot of Cover 3) or Quarters (Cover 4)?  Teams don’t want to run pure man but you can bet they want the option along with Cover 1. It’s pretty telling that Gannon let the DB decide what cushion they were comfortable with.  I think it suggests a desire for more flexibility.  I am not fixated on 40s.  I am on hips, feet but also like 3 cone and short shuttle as the suggest body control and agility in DBs.  But burst and speed matter as it opens up what the D can do.  In this day and age, playing primarily man isn’t sound but playing as much Cover 1 as possible is key and I believe Gannon knows it. " Commitment to zone” is so simplistic.

Yup.  Same.  I think you have to go to a specialty butcher shop to find them.

He was a great tackler as a junior but struggled as a senior with a shoulder injury. I think he’ll be fine.

good source. I never see wingspan measurements.

It still has Booth with the slight edge on Elam. Both still ahead of Stingley.

Since I was a kid, square you shoulders, wrap up and put your shoulder to the ground with him  in between. Broader shoulders, longer arms, the easier to wrap up.  Long arms and wingspan also contribute to PBUs or PDs.  Elam is attractive except for his reaction, which includes some miscues. Kid needs to become a film room junkie.

Lame…….RIP

You already have a 31 year old good outside CB making good money. His name is Darius Slay. Adding a second in the same price range (if not more) and blocking progress for McPhearson, Gowan, Scott, plus whatever rookie you draft is dumb. Bring back Nelson for pennies compared to Gilmore and let him compete with Zech and a 1st round rookie for CB2.

PS- I wouldn’t have let Douglas go. I would have converted him to S.

Douglas would probably be a horrible S.  So often the answer to slower CBs is make them a S.  Box safeties should be extinct. Nothing in Douglas’ game suggests downhill and he simply didn’t have the speed or angles for sideline to sideline.  Too many folk read the draft "pundits” that worship at the feet of conversion.  You are relatively new here but I have enjoyed some of you draft interest posts.  But Douglas as a S isn’t one of them. He is best as a boundary B corner.  Mean ball skills and able to cover most Xs.

Glad I got to see them live.  One of my favorite drummers, and a hell of a lot better than that clown Jimmy Chamberlain.

Yup, I got to see them way back in the Electric Factory days (2,500 people max) around 2000. It was an amazing show with Queens of the Stone Age as the opening act.

That would have been awesome.  Did Dave play drums for QOTSA ??

Dax Hill is not far superior or even superior.  He’s interchangeable at S which gives us flexibility.  He can play single high as well

Not at that show. He was on stage but off to the side just rocking out. It was early on when no one really knew who QOTSA were. I remember not knowing them and  it was a year two later they had their first hit single come out.

I was saying back then I would have given it a shot rather than letting him go. And  at "being new here.” I’ve got more EMB posts than you bro.

Bro’, post numbers aren’t a sign of longevity.  New in the Blog is what I meant. Aside from the draft game posts, you actually post some football detail and I enjoy that.  Take it as a compliment as it was meant as such.
