He was- and WIll smith was wrong for doing it.

Regardless if it was a known tatseless joke or not. Violence against a comedian is wrong.  Boo- hiss, gasp, whatever, never go see the guy again, thats fine. Violence is just wrong.

You cannot condone violence against someone using words. Thats how we get censorship and loose the freedom of speech.

It's not violence if it's not real.

Here is a Karlaftis video.

He doesnt look unathletic. He has good initial burst, and changes direction well for his size.

I understand a bit, the comparison to Barnett. He has tons of hits and hurries with less sacks than youd like.  But youd have to say hes a better version of Barnett. He is bigger, stronger, faster. Has a better shot at developing in to something in the NFL. And is most likely more productive right away, than Barnett has been even with years of experience.

Karlaftis is not my guy. I wont love the pick if they make it. But, I dont think itll be bad like I knew the Barnett pick would be.

His college production sadly is not even remotely close to Barnett's. Barnett had 32 sacks over his 3 years in college.

I cant remember a dude who dropped so fast

He was a top 5 pick 3 years ago and probably 2 years ago and now he's forgotten

I am really warming back up on Howell. He lost his top 4 weapons before last season without much going on behind them.

I wonder if they volunteered? Usually this announcement comes much later in the offseason.

On sort of an it's not about Hurts but it's about Hurts topic...I think the blueprint the Eagles are using to get back to relevance is that of the Peyton Manning Broncos, Brady Buccaneers, Jimmy G 49ers, and Stafford Rams.  Stack up the roster and either go on runs despite your QB or entice a veteran QB to join the momentum.

The ideal situation is to find the QB first, but you also have to adapt to the cards you've got.  As a fan, it's tempting to wallow in the misery of our current QB and the flawed draft class, but we've got to invest resources in something, otherwise we might as well just Hinkie it.  And the best case scenario are those Broncos/Bucs/49ers/Rams teams.  The problem, however, is that Howie has never demonstrated anything close to the ability to draft a roster with that kind of top to bottom talent to either overcome a QB problem or entice a better one.

I've always had in the back of my mind that when Howie attended the Pitt-NC game he went to watch both QBs.

Excellent choice.  That coach is a total meathead who will ham it up for the cameras.  Not to mention, the Lions have decisively surpassed Cleveland and Cincinnati as the league's most embarrassing franchise, which should make for a more compelling story.

What is the appeal of Howell?  6' QB with an ordinary arm who still isn't a hyper-productive hyper-smooth passer.  Will probably make a very nice backup one day if he is drafted accordingly...just like Pickett.

This of course assumes he knew her hair style was not a choice or fashion, and knew she had alopecia. He may have, I dont know, but either way, even a tasteless joke on stage doesn't deserve voilent actions?

I mean are we really at that place in time right now? Where violence is justified because of a tastless joke about a non life threatening health condition?

The "hair style" has never been a secret. Quite the contrary. She has put it out there.

It is true that hitting someone for making a tasteless joke is not good but Rock humiliated her publicly and Smith replied in kind. Letting Rock get away with that was, at the very least, inappropriate. Frankly, if someone insults my wife, I would not sit idly by.

Nonsense.  Hurts isn’t going to hold back the progress of WRs.  Watkins improved his route running as last season went on.  Yes, the Eagles went to concentrating more on running.  Of course, keeping the D off the field had nothing to do with that.  The fact that Hurts is dynamic as a running QB has nothing to do with that.  It is so obvious that Hurts held back Reagor and JJAW from achieving all pro status. (Sarcasm intended).  The play of Reagor and JJAW had no impact on Hurts development.  The best route runners on the team are Smith and Ward.  Ward just isn’t athletic enough to matter.  But Watkins passed Reagor in snaps as the season went on because he improved his route running but he is still green and still has hands issues.  Drafting a decent X won’t hurt Watkins development.

Hurts has significant flaws in his reads, progression and delivery but this "he hurts development of receivers so don’t add one” is nonsense.

So Watkins, labeled the  #2 WR by his own coach, went for 647 yards and 1 TD this year.  His entire identity and the majority of his usage is as a downfield threat...and he barely connected on the receiving end of any deep balls all year.

So I'd say that either Watkins isn't any good, or Hurts held him back.

Will smith is not a mid-card guy. He’s a top of the card guy who draws big money and gets paid big money.

and that slap was a shoot. Not a work.

Will Smith hasn't been a big draw at the box office since the 90s.

I'm shocked that more cities/states are so hard against supporting new stadiums.

The amount of money a stadium event brings in is insane.

A big wig in the restaurant told me that an Eagles playoff game was worth 500M dollars in local revenue.

Piizza places, bars, liquor stores, all benefit from it greatly.

Numerous studies have shown that subsidies for stadiums is money down the drain.

Why should taxpayers subsidize billionaires?

He's the Angelina Jolie of actors.  Never really been in anything that great, most intriguing movies are all pure action flicks, yet somehow sits atop the absolute A-listers.

Sure... more actors doing things that actors do.   Seemed very orchestrated, dare I say choreographed.

If not, then good for Chris Rock for not acting in kind.
