Makes that worse is we still don’t know exactly what the F he did.

Same with Jamon Brown. Can't believe it never leaked out what he did considering he was a nobody.

The mistake with Malik Jackson was restructuring after he had a lis franc injury. That’s not "bad luck”

Did they actually restructure it? I feel we had a big conversation thinking they did but they really only did in 2021 when they knew they were going to release him as a post June 1st

Fixing the glove mid-play really didn’t help his case. Lol

I remember for sure they did. That's why he's $9M in dead money this year and was an additional $4ish last year. He only signed for 3 years $30M total. When half of it is dead in year 3, its from restructuring. You can see on his old contracts his 2nd year base was restructured to the minimum.

Plus there is this from right after he signed:

Malik Jackson’s deal similarly includes a $9 million signing bonus, initially spread out over five years, which means $3.6 million in dead money in 2021.

2021 came and it was wayyyy more than just $3.6

Nope. But it sounded like a big thing with Dom removing him from the team hotel the night before a game. I'm guessing he brought a girl back or something and that didn't fly with the COVID rules.

Did you see Kelce’s comments about him? It seems like really nice stuff. He obviously likes the guy. But his response wasn’t "he’s gonna be a star. He’s gonna show everyone that he’s a top 10 QB in the league.” It was like a paragraph about things about his leadership and hard work. At face value, seems like a ringing endorsement and guys like Afan and RTK will take it as such. But it was missing anything about him being a good, successful, QB.

There's nothing nice to say about him.  It's all fluff.  That's why they have to spout off about leadership, hard work, swag, etc.  That's all there is.  And the vets are obligated to throw in support for an embattled QB.

It’s all it ever is from the owner, to the GM, to the HC, to his teammates, to ESPN analysts, to beat writers, to Twitter fans, to the absolute Melvins like RTK.

No one talking about Hurts ever talks about his QB skills... its always everything else.

You seem to forget that Jalen took this team to the playoffs.

So every team that makes the playoffs automatically has a good QB situation?

He played all but two games in his career. but he was on the decline and he got benched by the jags cause of his lackluster play. It was a bad contract for a 29 year old DT who had seen his play decline and he was not good against the run. He had a 61.8 grade by pff in 2018. It was a huge decline from the two previous seasons. There were signs he was declining. His injury happened but there’s a high chance he was already not the player worth what they were paying him. That contract the way it was structured was bad if he wasn’t able to regain 2017 form. Add on he wound up being a complete dope if you read some of his comments towards people on social media

He declined in Jax b/c they changed schemes, from a one gap to two gap.

That's what you look for, someone devalued b/c he's in the wrong scheme for his skills when a new HC/coordinator is brought n.

Rex Grossman "led” his team to a SB

No not every team but most teams that make the playoffs do.  Eagles absolutely do when their 23 year old QB becomes the youngest in franchise history to take them to the playoffs and does so in his first season starting.  I'm very excited to see what he can do in year 3 and just how big of a leap he will make.

I'd rather make it to the SB with Grossman than miss the playoffs with Herbert.

Just win, baby.

Really, enough. We all know how y'all feel about Hurts, the horse is dead, move on.

We'll know by January if you were right or just a bunch of internet fools.

Yeah the 2021 Eagles really had the 2006 Bears defense out there.  And don't forget the great special teams contributions from Jalen "Devin Hester" Reagor.

He declined cause he was also bad against the run and had a crap attitude. There were reports from jags beat writers saying he was half assing it and didn’t look good nearly as good even as a pass rusher that year as in previous season from a burst perspective. Scheme change or not there was belief he was beginning to lose his pass rush abilities and at 29 wasn’t unthinkable he was declining with the amount of games he had played regular season and postseason.

here’s something cool… excuses are like aholes everyone has one and they all stink. He was arguably declining and they bought moving into Schwartz’s scheme and along side Cox would revivie him. IT DIDNT. end of story. It failed. That’s not bad luck when multiple people said he was bad against the run in 2018, declining as a pass rusher in 2018 and was lazy. But hey it’s always an excuse of bad luck. Maybe it was just not good of a move.

Tim Tebow "led” his team to the playoffs

He actually did play a pretty significant role in that team making the playoffs.  He took over at the end of 4th quarters in a lot of games once defenses were worn down to win that season.  That was a fun team to watch.  But again, that was also a really good defense from Denver that was able to consistently keep games very low scoring.

You've said this multiple times.  It's a passable argument, except, we don't just win.  Our Eagles made the playoffs under the new diluted format as the last seed, embarrassed themselves, and proved they never should have been a playoff team in the first place.

"Just win baby" is an absurdly low standard as a supporting argument for a team getting obliterated in the wild card round.
