I can't believe how man idiot hosts on WIP want to give a "Tyreek Hill" package to trade for DK Metcalf and give him $20M a year.

I mean WIP callers make TATErs look smart.

Good point. The NFCE has been pretty bad over the years

Herbert was drafted in 2020. Give him time

And before anyone mentions Hurts...

If Hurts had these stats then I'd say give Hurts time too

Year Team Games Passing Rushing Sacks Fumbles
GP GS Record Comp Att Pct Yards Avg TD Int Rate Att Yds Avg TD Sck SckY Fum Lost
2020 LAC 15 15 6−9 396 595 66.6 4,336 7.3 31 10 98.3 55 234 4.3 5 32 218 8 1
2021 LAC 17 17 9−8 443 672 65.9 5,014 7.5 38 15 97.7 63 302 4.8 3 31 214 1 1
Career 32 32 15−17 839 1,267 66.2 9,350 7.4 69 25 97.9 118 536 4.5 8 63 432 9 2

But he doesn't

So you're saying gaudy passing stats does not correlate to winning games? 😁

Herbert can't win the big game? We're just making stuff up now. He only converted like 10 4th downs in that play-in game vs the Raiders. Scored 32 points, threw for almost 400 yards, 3 TDs... It is a team sport. Funny we give all the excuses in the world to Hurts, but come up with stuff like this for one of the best QBs in the league.

KC didn't win because of Mahomes, they won b/c of Reid, who won with Smith, but Mahomes allowed him to take it up another notch. Mahomes on most other teams would probably be more like Herbert, a promising young QB who hasn't shown he can win the big game - because with most teams and most HCs, he'd fall consistently short.

QBs get too much credit and too much blame, it's a team game, and having not just talent, but the right mix of talent, and the right HC, and a little luck, is required.

Nah, you draft well so you can get the "most out of" better players.

2017 was magical. But outside of that in the Howie Roseman dozen years the team hasn't been a top 3 seed at all. And statistically those are the teams with a decent shot to win.  It's been a lot of smoke & mirrors around 3 9-win and 2- 10win playoff appearances otherwise. And that's with one of the worst divisions in football in that time. The Eagles haven't been bad obviously but they really haven't been anything near a top tier team for a long time outside of one season.  Goes back a few years before Howie even. If we're being honest the Eagles were one of the best teams in the league NFC from 2000-2004 but outside of that it's been a few one off playoff runs

I recall the early 2000s kind of like now - AFC was the stronger conference. The worm will turn, it always does.

These are hosts, like Ike Reese and Jon Ritchie. ESP is rotting everyone's brain over there.

On top of it afc west was one of the best divisions in football last year. The division was a combined 38-30. Meanwhile they nfc east was 32-36. The only division who had a higher win total than that 38 was Nfc west at 40. So much harder division than the nfc east.

let me also point out jalen hurts is 0-6 against playoff teams in this year averaging 19 points on offense in those games. Herbert was 5-4 and the offense averaged 29.8 points. Yeah I’m sure the chargers would really take the eagles position over having herbert who is going to be a top 10 QB for the next decade and just big time improved their defense this offseason that was their biggest issue.

One of the worst defenses in the league and had the same record as us...while beating and playing several playoff teams in a much better conference.

Anyone who takes Afan seriously...doesn't get it.

Want to fly over a mountain range with an airplane held together with duct tape?

Because, that's basically what this current offense is.  It works when you are flying over smaller hills... but when you hit the real mountains, the extra sheering force from the wind causes too much turbulence and the wings fall off.

Hmmm Justin herbert this year was 5-4 vs. playoff teams averaging 29.8 ppg in those games. Meanwhile hurts this year was 0-6 averaging 19 points with a bunch of garbage time stats like td vs Dallas down 41-14 late in the 4th, a td vs. chiefs down 19 with 20 seconds left and raiders down 19 with 4 mins left. But right herbert is the problem for the chargers… apparently hurts averaging 10 points less and winning 0 games against playoff teams clearly correlates to winning games against playoff teams…

3.99 is elite.

I’m 100% positive he doesn’t actually watch other teams. He tried to tell me once the Texans were close to a special oline meanwhile espn pass blocking and run blocking win rate they’ve been bottom 1/3 in the league since watson came into the league and bottom 10 in pff grades all but one year watson has been in the league and the one year they were it was bottom 1/3. Add on the mahomes isn’t proven BS.

You didn't mention the rates at which gun purchases have gone up.

I'm sure there are stats, I sure don't know where to find them. I wonder how many LEGALLY OWNED guns are used in crimes? I'd hazard a guess not all that many.

How many playoff games has Trevor Lawrence won? How about Zach Wilson? Justin Fields, Mac Jones anyone? How about Malik Willis? How many NFL playoff games did Kenny Pickett win? Kedon Slovis, Sam Howell, Arch Manning, Spencer Rattler?

Yea. That's what I thought.

Dareke Young , WO , crushed his pro day , impressive small school prospect

Johnathan Giles  another small school WO who nailed it at his pro didn’t

I can't tell if you're serious with this

I won a super bowl of chili once.

Nets gonna trade him in the offseason. I’ve felt for a while he didn’t want to be in Brooklyn either

Did you happen to take notice that the Bengals actually won three post season games? Two on the road?

How did we do? We weren’t even remotely competitive in our game.

To address the Tampa game in general, not to agree with AFan’s stance.  Mahommes, against essentially the same defense lost his two starting OTs before the Super Bowl at the end of the 2020:season and had a bad game against Tampa.  We forgive Mahommes because of losing those OTs.  The Eagles were playing a PS G at RG, down at that point three RGs (Brooks, Driscoll, Herbig) and Lane missed a third of the game at RT.  Kelce had his worst game of the year, probably impacted by Opeta at RG.  Note that the Eagles were down to Clark at RT.   Sanders was bad but he had been hampered by an injury for most of the season.  Hurts got surgery on his ankle after the season so he wasn’t in good shape either.  That offense couldn’t afford any bodies missing.  Meanwhile, the starting Tampa D that gave Mahommes fits played together, I believe for the first time all season.   Yes, the Eagles looked ragged.  Teams without depth tend to look that way.  (Yes, Burrows also had OL issues and looked better against the Bucs   Not denying that because I am not defending AFan’s argument.). Howie, has a ton of rebuilding left to go.  (Unfortunately, it’s Howie because the worst signing the Eagles made this offseason was extending him, IMHO.)

From the defense side of the bar, I agree with your assessment.

Hurts has a disturbing habit of playing no better the second time he sees an opponent; most times he plays worse.  He was bad against TB the first time until the game was out of reach at 28-7, and he was just as bad or worse in the wildcard game until it was out of reach at 31-0.

For a player of his work ethic and intangibles, that shouldn't be ....
