And don't forget about Kamara assault from Vegas that is on video. How many game suspension for that one?

They lost their stud S to FA, replaced with an inferior guy, and Jenkins to retirement. They lost a top LT, great coach in Payton, is Michael Thomas still good or will he be traded.

Play the AFC East and NFC West, the 2nd and 3rd toughest conferences.

Potential is Top 3 pick

How far could the Eagles move up from 15 with that 3rd we got? 12-13 range?

Saints gave up a future first, future second, 3rd this year and whatever else picks to just move up from 19 to 16.  Why do you think a comp 3rd would move you up to the 12-13 range?

That would be terribly disappointing, and I like Booth. Wyatt is too old to go top 18 IMO.

Wouldn't be my favorite outcome either

Jermaine Johnson and Jameson Williams/Garrett Wilson/Chris Olave would be most exciting to me.

Predictions for our picks: Wyatt and Booth

Random, but Chris Simms said he would be shocked if Stingley goes in the top 25.

I'd be cool with Booth and Wyatt.  Thinking our 2nd Rounder #51 might be for one of the DEs/Edge players of Williams/Ebiketie/Thomas.  Maybe even Sanders gets consideration.

Wonder if they'd use the extra 3rd to trade up if a player like Gardner or Johnson is there after the 10th pick?  Or if they'd consider a trade down if some team gets desperate for a QB then use some of the extra picks to make small trade ups to get their guys in the 2nd/3rd Rounds?  That's where the meat of this draft is, from picks 30-80.

We gave up a 3rd to move from 12 to 10 last draft and moving in that range costs more. What’s your point?

Also, the Saints didn’t trade up, they bought an additional 1st rounder and traded down with the other one slot.

Top three would be a dream but we already had that similar dream shattered this past year with Miami, so I don't want to think that positive. Top ten would be a great get if that even happens.

Yes, he and Milton are back.  In Huepel’s gimmicky offense he’ll put up more gaudy numbers.  Especially since he’ll start the season (spring practice and all) as the starter. Unlike last year.

Go Vols!

I don't watch college ball but I've been seeing over the months that people really seem to think the 2023 draft will be a lot better. Is it that this one is so bad that it makes 2023 look great or are there actually some prospects that will be going in top 5? Are there any generational QBs going in 2023?

The biggest hurdles are the teams needing a QB next season that will likely finish worse than the Eagles and the Saints.
Lions, Giants, Commies, Panthers, Falcons, Texans, and the Dolphins, who have 2, 1st round picks and 2, third round picks in 2023. The Seahawks and Texans both have 2, first round picks next season as well. If Wilson and Fields play poorly again in 2022, we might be contending with the Bears and the Jets.

I think that’s a good way to look at it.
That said, the hard and fast rule being this year’s draft pick is worth N+1 in the future is devaluing the future pick way too much. I understand why they do it. It’s easier and cleaner during negotiations, and you have to bake in potential risk.

That would be terribly disappointing, and I like Booth. Wyatt is too old to go top 18 IMO.

And even at that half round valuation, it's still not this king's ransom for us that a lot of pundits and fans are painting it as. It's basically a wash or worse unless the saints end up being a bottom feeder and next year's first rounder ends up being a top-5 pick.

Damnit. Why did Ojabo have to get hurt. Sucks. That was my guy

I’ve soured on the DTs in this draft, but I feel the Eagles are kind of a lock to take one. Honestly, I’d rather they take Ojabo than any of the DTs even with the torn achilles.

Wonder if the saints may actually trade up for a QB. If not, when and where do they get one? They gave up their pick next year and a 2nd in 2024, hurting their ability to trade for one in those years. I can’t imagine their plan is to just roll with Winston and see what happens.

What changed?

Johnson/Wyatt/Davis/Booth /Elam

I don’t necessarily agree with the half-round valuation either, but it’s much better than a whole round.

Picking up two premium assets opens up more possibilities than owning pick 16. To me having the guy "a year earlier” isn’t worth it, and it’s a confusing trade for the Saints, at least until the other show drops.

Nothing really, I was always pro DE over DT in this draft, but after thinking about it more I’ve just become even more pro DE. The Eagles have so struggled to address that position for years, I think I’m a strong pass rush draft class, they can put those issues to bed for a while and don’t have to worry about it anymore. I think solid DTs are more in abundance.

Ojabo was smart to come out this season, unless his stats significantly improved next season, he would look like a 2nd round pick next to Will Anderson.

Of course, we have to keep in mind is whose No. 1 you’re trading for.

Would Howie have taken that deal from Green Bay or Tampa Bay? I’m not so sure. In that case you likely need an injury at QB to get a palatable first round pick to wait on.

Meanwhile, the Saints probably will be competitive. I don’t see them bottoming out because they didn’t in 2021 when a lot of things went wrong, but it’s not out of the question either. What has the better odds of happening? The Saints’ pick is say 24 or the pick is top 12?

I would take that. Two firsts, two seconds, three thirds

Simms top 5 CB and S

1. Sauce Gardner
2. Trent McDuffie
3. Jalyn Armour-Davis
4. Andrew Booth
5. Marcus Jones

1. Kyle Hamilton
2. Lewis Cine
3. Daxton Hill
4. Bryan Cook
5. Percy Butler

I think you guys are going to win. I put $50 on unc. Had some Arizona coaches tell me Kansas region was set up super nicely for them. They thought as the 3 overall seed that Gonzaga deserve the region they had (terms of teams and seeds) with how Kenpom (before tourney) and NET rankings had the teams rated analytically. Most of the Arizona coaches thought unc would beat Kansas as they thought Duke was a more talented team than Kansas and unc has always had the talent. they just weren’t able to put it all together until after their 12-6 start to the year

What the hell are the saints thinking? I love this trade for the Eagles, but I cannot figure out why the saints would do this trade.

You have to drop all the way down to a quarter round evaluation for it to start to balance out. Which is well below market value as far as these types of valuations typically go.

They have to have another framework for a trade to trade up for a Qb. That’s my guess
