He has us making 5 picks through 4 rounds and no DE/edge pick.  The board could fall that way where there's not good value of the position at a given pick, but since it's a need and this FO values the position as high as they do I just don't see it.  R3 we go CB, Thompson from Texas?, when there's other CBs and some DEs still on the board and R4 we go TE.

Davis, Hamilton, and Watson would be a nice start, but I'd hope for better in Rs 3 & 4.

Schrager has us taking London at 15 and McDuffie at 18 with Davis still on the board that late.  That would be a nightmare.

You just don't know enough about the draft!

And yet people think adding Metcalf will fix any of this.

We need a real QB before we sink anymore high resources into receivers. The trio of Goedert, Smith, and Watkins don’t get enough good targets as it is.

We actually need less speed at receiver.

All defense baby!

Question for the blog:

If Howie is hellbent on taking a QB at 15, in which order would you rank them from "I'd be okay with/like" to "I absolutely hate this"?

The Eagles popped for the plane tickets and ride from the airport, but couldn't afford to throw in a couple Eagles duffle bags.

This is so big.  My wife and I make good money.  We have a kid in college, but we still do well with what we bring in.  It's just we spend a ton of money.  The car payment is the biggest waste of money.  But we need it and with my job, I need a good reliable long distance drivable car.  Luckily, my wife's car comes off the books in November.  And within the next year or 2 hopefully our daughter is off our car-health insurance and phone plan.  Hopefully.  That would be a nice bump.  I am able to put about $1200/month away to 401k.  But that will grow when all of those other bills come down or go away.  Our goal is to sell this house in the next year or two, (we already have $200k equity in it in less than 3 years) and downsize and move towards the beach.  Get a 10-15 year loan and get out from a having a mortgage by the time I am ready to retire.

If I ever retire.  With given what I do for a living....I might not need to.

We bought our most recent rental property with cash.

The last two cars we bought, I went to the dealer with a number written down on a post-it note. This number was the max I was willing to spend. Time 1 the salesman tried to haggle with me so I walked out, only to be called less than an hour later by his "manager" agreeing to my offer. Time 2 they took it right away--should have low balled a little better I guess.

We pay cash for big ticket items. No usury, no interest, just straight cash homie. It's the only way.

Regardless of profession, the old saw about the three-legged stool holds true for retirement: pension, social security, and savings. To which I would add good medical insurance.

So, four-legged chair.

1) Desmond Ridder -  Welp

2) Malik Willis - Please kill me

3) Matt Corral - no, no, no

4) Kenneth Pickett -  For F's sake Howie

5)Sam Howell -   *shoots TV*

Ideally the receiver should also be able to catch the ball.

Taking Walker over Hutchinson...man the Jags.

Details...

Why Dillard has significant trade value:

More half of the NFL’s left tackles (18 to be exact) are making at least $11 million per year.

Dillard would cost a team $2M this year and $12.6M on his option year.

So he's cheap to try out for a season, and you have a good base from which to negotiate a long-term extension.

Since he's not that expensive to keep, Howie has no pressure to move him, though the option has to be exercised by May 3.

Figure Howie will keep him if he's not offered a 3rd, b/c he could probably trade a 4th for a solid one year rental, so why not keep his own rental for depth.

I'd expect a deal to be made after the 1st rd, where 3 OTs will go in the 1st rd, Neal, Ekwonu and Cross. If you don't get one of these three, Dillard is a better bet than the other rookie OTs to start at LT in 2022.

There are 11 teams that would probably find Dillard to be an upgrade at LT.

Rams - Joe Noteboom

Jets - Mekhi Becton, 1t rd pick who may be better suited to RT, replacing George Fant

Colts - Matt Pryor, nuff said

GB - David Bakhiari, good LT who is aging and was injured last year

NO - James Hurst

Balt - Ronnie Stanley, RT they have project as their LT

Bears - Teven Jenkins, more of a RT written in at LT

Jax - Cam Robinson

Sea - Stone Forsythe

Pit - Dan Moore

Car - Cam Erving

Okay with/like -- Pickett, the only viable option at the position.  The rest would be organization-wrecking decisions at #15.

Howell -- bad

Ridder -- really bad

Corral -- just comically awful

Willis -- set your clocks for 6-7 years into the future when the Eagles would be relevant again.

There hasn’t been one rumor of a trade or any offer so clearly the league doesn’t see anything in him

Yeah, that's cute Howie Jr..  The next time you're right about anything....will be the first time.

As the biggest Howie ball washer in here, you'd be wise to avoid any draft discussion...

Thank you for your commentary Mr Steuber.
