If you're Howie, you just set up your draft board, don't panic, hang by the phone and kill the draft.

Since this draft will probably have unexpected risers and fallers throughout the first two days, if you have a good board and trust it, you can wheel and deal to best advantage.

Don't reach, don't draft for need, and you'll be fine.

FYP

If we don't get a DE in the 1st, Joshua Pascal is discount Travon Walker in the 2nd.

You act like he's preparing for a tornado or something. 🤣 Like he's in danger. Really reassuring!

I'm not sure if I would laugh or cry if the Falcons didn't take an edge rusher in Round 1.  The Eagles were 31st in the NFL in sacks with 29, ahead of only ATL.

The Falcons had 18.  Talk about malpractice if they aren't drafting DL.  Of course, I said the same thing last season when they left Parsons on the board.

This is the Falcons current depth chart at WR:

They need a WR just as badly, if not moreso. There's less of a gap in EDGE talent between R1 and R2 then there is in WR talent. They could go for Mafe, Ebiketie, Hall, etc. in R2.

TBF, you guys are both right, the Falcons are awful all around.  Other than Lindstrom and Hennessy?.., their line is really bad.  They have Pitts, Patterson, and then Terrell at corner, but they still might have the worst roster in the NFL.

I was just thinking the devastation Davis & Vea would cause on the d-line at the same time.

Imagine the Panthers draft Willis and TB gets Davis?  He couldn’t even see over the middle much less complete a pass, remember Hurts jump, pass, interception? Lol, with those two monsters it would be no hope for a QB under 6’4”.

On all the Jordan Davis love, I just have serious concerns about a guy who was always too out of shape to stay on the field in college. This guy could get it together and be great... or eat his way out of the league. Not a risk I'm willing to take. https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/jordan-davis-nfl-draft-evaluation-stock-combine-testing

He really seems to enjoy doing those things though...

Howie... don't reach and don't draft for need.

What could possibly go wrong.  Btw, according to the excuses, Howie never sets the board, its always someone else.  Just sayin'

But.. if he didn’t... we’d be set. I can’t imagine why we’re concerned...

Dotson is a very nice player but that's way too high. Day 2.

True, when the other benefit is Worker's Comp or Public Disability benefits.

The sample size is limited from my perspective, but I think Dotson is one of the best WR's in the draft.  He just had Franklin coaching and Clifford throwing to him.

Guys I don’t want:

Jordan Davis- concerns about his work ethic, conditioning, and taking plays off

Derek Stingley Jr.- his play falling off since his freshman year, unwillingness to tackle

Drake London- seems like he’s running in sand, lack of separation, JJAW PTSD

George Karlaftis- i just don’t see it.

Malik Willis- same issues we have now, just with a stronger arm and better deep ball.

Sam Howell- again, just don’t see it

Not that London is a great separator, I think it’s getting oversold because of bad QB play. Under throws and late throws really made him look worse.

Well, you were the biggest Davante Adams fan before that draft, so I’ll take your word on second round WRs

I also liked Carr there too...poor Carr being stuck on the Raiders.  I'll say this though about Dotson, he isn't the freak that people get enamored with, he's average sized with good athleticism who looks like he does the little things right.  Those guys last a long time in the NFL.

You may be right. He just looks slow to me. Reminds me of JJAW

That seems to describe a number of WRs in this draft.

I just had a shiver go down my spine reading that.

I find a rare televised Phillies game just in time to watch Bohm commit another error.

This is a player that's hard to predict where he'll go.  I've seen him ranked anywhere from 2nd Round all the way to 6th Round.  What scouting reports I've read about him have been fairly favourable, though.

London is Evans , even when he’s covered he’s open , big long and athletic , he bullies DBs  , still maturing and getting stronger , only 20 . Hands down my number one WO , absolutely love his game .

and the separation stuff is way over blown , WOs just don’t run free in the NFL , a step or two is considered separation

Jar of poutine?  Never heard of that.  Maybe I am mistaken in what poutine is then.   What is poutine?

Pretty sure you are talking about Poteen or Poitin, aka Irish Moonshine.  And maybe that's what JR was referring to as well?

I read JR's post that you replied to and he mentioned a jar of it, so was thinking it was the liquor.  Unless he's talking about just the gravy then it's going to be really messy getting all that into a jar.  Good luck.

So, would you like some Poteen with your Poutine?
