Or he might just be a vinny curry type player who is always gonna be a playmaker in the run game but only a few sacks each year. I dont know...

Can be taught and will be taught are 2 different things - I was only commenting on your question of why a kid can beat 1 type of blocking routinely and not the other.

I have been saying I prefer Wyatt over Walker

and Tindall over Dean when it comes to the GA prospects

Walk me through this. What qb are you adding that will be a significant upgrade and also allow them to make the roster better at the same time?

Because I don't see it.

I can envision an offseason where the Eagles trade for Wilson, sign Allen Robinson, add a pass rusher and a safety somewhere. Probably not elite level, but solid guys for depth.

I think an Eagles team with Wilson, another high quality WR like Robinson, and adding depth elsewhere could compete with anyone in the NFC. The Eagles roster isn't that bad. Especially on offense. They really have no big needs on offense outside of QB and one more WR.

Thats wild.

There is hope with Hurts, after all.

Hurts doesn't have to be Rodgers (and choke every year), he just has to be a much improved Hurts, if you add enough pieces (power back, possession WR, H-back, OL depth) around him.

Playoff football is going to be tough on QBs going forward, and Hurts ability to run behind a top OL is one of those wildcard aspects that can give the Eagles an edge IF he becomes a decent passer - but a QB who isn't very mobile is vulnerable to a top pass rush and defenses build to stop the pass - which seem to be more common these days.

The multiple different conclusions people are jumping to after two games is something else

I think Wilson is exactly the QB who will struggle going forward against the faster zone schemes, taking away the big play, playing mush rush and force him to throw consistently from the pocket at 5'10. And as he ages, he may lose that mobility that allowed him to buy time to make big plays.

This a tweet from 2018 ? What is the point ?

Exactly.  The 272 regular season games mean nothing.

agreed, mostly.

I wouldnt go for Robinson. The scramble drill in seattle seems to be speed WRs going down field instead of back to the QB and Wilson airs it out. Id get another fast guy and let him continue to air it out. Robinson will probably be like Alshon. Never a great athlete, he will be close to washed by the time he comes here.

Chark or Kirk, or even a draft pick.

In response to the Payton retiring rumors.

We've seen these changes the last few years, would Dean even been a consideration at LB five years ago?

Defenses are becoming smaller and faster in reaction to the rule changes favoring passing.

This will favor power running teams and make it harder for QBs to make big plays against good defenses (they'll still put up big numbers against bad defenses in the regular season).

The "Red Queen" effect.

The NFC is about to be a punchline:

- Brady considering retirement

- DAL against the cap and stuck with a way way overpriced Dak

- NO in cap hell and maybe no Payton

- Rodgers possibly traded to the AFC

- Rams have no real draft picks and are over-leveraged in the cap

- 49ers still don't have a top QB

- ARI scares nobody

The NFC is about to become the NBA's Eastern Conference of the last decade except without a LeBron caliber player.

Get Watson and rule the conference for years to come.

My fault

I would not be shocked if Kyle Trask starts next year for the Bucs , lots of roster turnover coming this off season , Brady may not one to be part of it .

Been reading that Calvin Ridley could be had for less than a 1st rounder. He's young, pretty damn good. Could be a guy who could grow with Smith for 5-10 years. Two Bama boys.

Maybe something like Seumalo and a 3rd for Ridley. Or a 2nd straight up for Ridley. I'd do that.

Howie can still maneuver around with these picks. For example, he could even still trade down to the late first round with one of the first rounders, amass even more picks, and then make a trade for a QB after.

There's plenty of room to maneuver. Which is why everyone just assuming trading for a QB would decimate the entire draft, that's simply not true. The Eagles would still have the other rounds and plenty of picks to improve the roster.

Anyone.

But yes…anyone isn’t necessarily good enough.

To answer your question, I burn one first on Carson Strong, trade Hurts to the highest bidder, and let Minshew air it out with a lot of INTs until we get fed up and give Strong his shot.

Find a running back and try to make him a decent at best passer is not a recipe for success.

Why trade Seumalo?

Like Seattle has done the last five years?

Missed PO twice, lost two WC games, only PO win was over the 2019 Eagles, a real powerhouse, and they scored all of 17 points.

In their three losses, 23, 22 and 20 points.

Ah ok ,the tweet he showed   was about Belichick and Brady and from 2018

The Packers might have to outright cut Rodgers too, especially if they have to hold onto Adams on the franchise tag. With Adams on the tag, they're 60M over the cap. If they cut both Smiths, Cobb, Amos and Turner...that's only 45M of savings. They'd still have to clear 15M with extensions/restructures after losing all those players. Of course, they could give massive extensions to Smith, Smith, Amos, etc. to lower the cap number...but then they don't have more $ to help out Love.

Packers are in the same spot as us last year...but without a SB ring.

Agree with your logic to some degree but it’s the NFL and usually it won’t go as expected. Might just as well be the NFC superpower division again.. feels like that perception changes every few years.

Except for Dallas of course. They consistently suck for decades.
