I think Epps and McPhearson are the fallback options.

I thought Nelson played pretty well last year.  I know they need to get younger in the secondary but that's a very reasonable contract for a #2 CB.

You couldn't get Lawrence back in that trade? Did you even try? Shameful.

Prefer donuts holes personally

I don't buy that. I'm guessing they fill one of them with a FA and draft high for another. Who knows though, they could be content.

Not a lot of guys on the younger side.  26 or under available players are Kevin King, Vernon Hargraves and a bunch of scrubs.

Well, Carr went 31-for-34 against the Eagles while Hurts went 18-for-34 in the same game.  It sounds simple enough -- just improve from an 18/34 passer to a 31/34 passer.

As dumb as ESP's tweet is, the last part rings true -- look at what Murray and Jackson are currently demanding from the Cards and Ravens.  If folks think Hurts will be asking for anything less than $30M per season, even for his sub-standard play, they're kidding themselves.  Biggest reason I prefer the Eagles press the reset button now and start over at QB.

Hurts can get a Super Bowl ring here this year and I'm still not paying him a dime

If overpaying Hurts means we win another SB, sign me up!

It's Lurie's money, not mine. 😁

That enough to get any sort of low end comp pick?

What a great post showing how big of joke some of you are with your Hurts hate.  Jalen Hurts could win a Super Bowl and you still wouldn't want to re-sign him. Classic.

They will never win because of him, in will be in spite of. You can keep living your Hurts dream all you want but there is no world where he gets a new contract with us.

You are mistaking cause and effect.

Now both of the Eagles fallbacks are gone for the secondary holes

What about Kyle Fuller?  30 and from MD

Nope.  If you took me off ignore you might learn something.

I think the 5th year option is huge given the premium salaries QBs command.  Hate to agree with ESP but that's a valid argument for taking a 1st round QB...provided that QB is a 1st round talent.  Would never suggest taking a 1st round QB just to get the 5th year.

If the qb is good they are going to demand a new deal after yr 3 anyway

When Hurts struggles this year, the huggers will certainly say the Eagles didn't build around him and give him enough weapons. They most certainly won't mention the o-line though.

So you anticipate Howie putting together the 2000 Ravens defense over the course of the rest of this offseason and next to where the Eagles would win a Super Bowl with Hurts but it would be in spite of him?

And the hivemind here wonders angrily how it can't be called rational for its over the top Hurts hate.

So Roob wrote a piece breaking down eagles drafts by position since Howie and overall.

It was pretty clear that since Howie the eagles have drafted Lineman, QBs and WRs in the first

The last time they drafted a corner in the 1st was Lito Shepard in 2002, 20 years ago.

Last time LB in the 1st 1979, Jerry Robinson,

Last RB in the 1st 1986 Keith Byars.

Never in their history have they ever drafted a safety in the 1st, Sorry Kyle Hamilton ☹️

I can't see them taking an OL in the First this year, I sure hope they don't take a QB in the 1st, I think there are a couple CBs that are top 15 pick worthy but not sure they'll fall that far which leaves DL and WR.

I imagine the two first round picks will be a DT or a DE and a  WR or Howie could go two DL.

That's if history and patterns hold true.

Lets go

Had to give up a lot just for them to take Hurts.

If you’re looking to draft a QB Corral would be my choice .

I also have been watching some Cole Johnson , big QB , who navigates pocket well and has a strong arm . Little older 6th year SR , but I think he has NFL starter potential after a year or so of sitting/learning . Late round pick
