What if Howie has a deal in place already with HOU at #3?

Maybe HOU wanted one first this year and one next year.

In case they get out tanked by JAC or DET.

I think he got screwed a bit when they lost their top 2 WR's and top 2 RB's in the same draft class and didn't have a ton behind them.

Oh definitely didn’t help him. If i were Howell, I’d have gone back to school. would’ve entered the transfer portal and gone to a better school potentially increased him stock. I get the risk of injury but i also think if he clicked elsewhere and got back to his sophomore year level of play teams would be higher on him again.

Everyone gets so excited about "draft capital”. Especially Howie. Jalen Reagor and JJAW were once "draft capital”. Part of me is like "we need to fix the defense with all these picks”, but then part of me is like "well, these picks are probably gonna bust anyway, may as well pick a QB.”

 

Lets be honest.. no one is ACTUALLY good at evaluating QBs. And none of what anyone says makes any sense. Some of the best QBs in the league were drafted outside the top ten. Many "sure fire” prospects bust. It’s all a crap shoot. May as well use your lottery tickets. I’d rather have Davis Mills than Jalen Reagor.

Howell could be a real steal in R2. Still has the arm talent, proved his athleticism last year and he's just so damn...fiery.

There are always good prospects for every position on day three. I think Linderbaum is really good and I doubt picking Cameron Thomas over him is the right call..

More impressive his drafting of mahomes or mcnabb? Mahomes i think had more questions around what he was and why he fell. But he identified him and went and got him. Mcnabb had to choose from mcnown, culpepper, smith and mcnabb. And idiots who wanted Ricky Williams. He made the right choice. Development wise I’d argue mahomes by a lot considering how great the individual achievements mahomes has been to start his career. Not that mcnabb didn’t have some of his own.

We're on same page. I really like Stroud but seems like a real long shot to get.  Other guys I need to see more and fall into the who knows category
