So the Cowboys are drafting Wyatt in the first round?  Is that the splash Jones has been talking about?

I suspect Hurts will play much like he did last season.  The largest variable in predicting his performance is not his untapped potential, but rather to what degree defenses game plan to shut him down in the run game.

Hurts was running the football at a highly excessive 32% of his pass attempts before he injured his ankle against the Giants.  He will resume that excessive pace this season as long as his legs stay healthy.

Last season Minshew started 2 games — one for an injured Hurts and one as starter in the meaningless Week 18 game against DAL with a playoff spot already secured.  I predict if it’s Hurts/Minshew again in the QB room that Minshew starts 4+ games this season.

I would take this right now. At least that’s 4+ games where Goedert, Smith, and even Quez (and maybe rookie draft pick) aren’t running wide open only to turn around to a clean pocket and a 2 yard QB run.

The draft is in two weeks.  The Eagles aren't going to draft a QB in the draft.  In 2 weeks we will know for sure.  When we are in August and heading close to the start of the season I suspect Minshew will request a trade when it is clear to him he won't be the starter just as he did in Jacksonville when it was clear to him that he wasn't the starter there.

Different to be behind a starter like hurts than a starter like the top 10-15 who won’t be benched under any circumstances and carry contracts that basically prevent it anyway.

Well Trevor Lawrence wasn't a top 10-15 QB.  Minshew was already the backup here, already went into Sirianni's office and asked what it would take to become the starter and was flat-out told it isn't happening.  My guess is when it becomes clear to him that he is again going to be the backup this season that he will want to go elsewhere because there are still some teams without QBs and there will likely be at least one QB injury over the summer.

Yes I bet Hurts would have won more games in Jacksonville than Minshew did.  Hurts took an ish team to the playoffs in his first year as starter.  Eagles were 4-11-1 the prior season.

I can't believe people actually think like this. We didn't beat a single playoff team. Hurts managed to only beat dumpster fire squads. And it was never because of him, it was usually in spite of him.

The defense only let up 14 ppg in wins this year. During that 2nd half run, we barely threw the ball 20 times a game

This chart was from early December. When you take into account the rest of the team, Hurts was playing on very easy mode

We could have had almost anyone at QB last year and won these games

The new kids on the block are making that gum drop RTK look like the dipish that he is.

Future is bright.

I'm curious, what games did they win in spite of him?  You said usually so I'm expecting out to point out a majority of their games.

Panthers, Lions, Saints, WFT (last game) are ones that come to memory without digging in

If the Eagles enter the 3rd round with realistic picks of Booth, Ojabo, and Pickens I would be as happy as a clam.

I didn't realize he was that big of a LB.  Interesting prospect.

For as much as this team underachieved, I really liked the players they had.  Loved Max Talbot.  Wish Schenn would have wiped the ice with Crosby.

Best I can do is Pickett, Green and McCreary.

Jalen Hurts is No. 30 in The Athletic’s 2021 QB Rankings (usatoday.com)

"The Athletic recently broke down their 2021 quarterback rankings into tiers and Hurts landed in the fourth tier, as the 30th ranked signal-caller entering this season."

"He just can’t throw it well enough and accurately enough. And I don’t think he’s going to turn into Dak. I don’t think he has that level of passing skill or just arm talent. I don’t dislike him, but I don’t think he’s a real starting definite NFL guy."

"game-plan around his weaknesses as a thrower"

haha yeah yeah, I know.  Just one of those guys you hate on other teams but love when he's a Flyer.

That 2010 Flyers team was fun to watch though.

I don't like Hurts as a starter but that was before the 2021 season so not sure how relevant it is
