Ten rushing touchdown impresses me zero when evaluating a quarterback.... especially considering he probably cost miles lots of money from taking all the goal line TDS.... Reality is he plays like a back up because he was never meant to be more. Dude isn't hot garbage, but he's the second best QB on this team.

Fun part. Jameis Winston had 14 in 7 games in a team with almost nothing going on... Hurts is tied with Davis Mills at 16 with more starting games. The dude isn't very good

I don't like Hurts as a starter but that was before the 2021 season so not sure how relevant it is

So maybe #29?  Not bad for basically a rookie.

He doesn't cost lots of money.  He costs $1.6M.  The production he gets with his legs counts as much as with his arm.  They don't later deduct it from the scoreboard after the game.

QBs win Super Bowls with their arms, not legs. Even MVP Cam Newton who had 10 rushing TDs in 2015 folded in the big game.

Cam Newton lost a Super Bowl?  MVP Rich Gannon lost a Super Bowl, does that mean that Super Bowls aren't won with their arms?

Dumb response given that a pocket passer was the QB opposite Gannon.

Further, it still misses the point that primary runners don’t lead teams to Super Bowl wins.

I like it. Maybe we finally draft a linebacker in top two rounds.

I think he has not gotten the attention he probably deserves. Would be a great rd 2 pick.

Peyton Manning lost two Superbowls. Heh, checkmate you RB haterz

They don't until they do.  Plus "primary runners" don't exist.  He passes the ball far more than he runs the ball.  It's not even close.  The good thing about Hurts is he is continuing to develop and improve as a passer.  That is only going to make him all the better.

Better than what?

And congrats. You got something right. They don’t until they do, and until a QB who’s game is more developed around their ability and propensity to run the ball, and less so around their ability to read a defense and make smart decisions and deliver the ball consistently, (figured I had to give the long winded description since many are too stupid to understand what is meant by "running QB), then there is no reason to believe they ever will become consistent championship QBs.

Better than what he was in 2021, just like he was better last year than he was as a rookie.  Good thing for Jalen Hurts is he's far from a finished product at only 23 years old.  He just finished his first season as starter and took the team to the playoffs becoming the youngest QB in franchise history to do so.  Good thing for the Eagles is Jalen is a is a QB with all of those running tools who is extremely committed to continue to develop and advance his passing.  Reports are that he is extremely coachable.  He's not Carson Wentz.  He doesn't have the physical talent that Carson Wentz had coming into the NFL.  But unlike Wentz, Hurts is someone who is very open and welcoming to being coached.  He is someone that wants to become a better passer and is willing to put in the necessary work to do so.

It's players like those that will reach their ceiling.  I highly doubt we have seen his ceiling.  I am expecting him to make a very noticeable leap forward this season.  If he doesn't improve or he takes a step back then he probably hit his ceiling.  But I don't see that happening because the parts of his passing game that he struggled is completely reasonable for a young developing QB and can be improved upon.

Be honest, you took that guy last because we have no shot at ever spelling his name correctly

The closer the draft gets the more i hope we draft a QB. If this class is considered lack luster then our FO really F'd up using a 2nd on hurts. Ive seen 4-5 of them with actual QB skills and mechanics to build on. Standing tall and/or moving the pocket, reading simple coverages, looking off safeties, lead passing, throwing guys open with anticipation, etc etc etc.

I chose Myrons Tagalong-Amorosa strictly because of his skillset

For the umpteenth time, This team was in the playoffs because the NFL wanted the revenue from an extra playoff game. The entire state of Pennsylvania had no business being in the playoffs last year as both their games proved.

It’s the best descriptor for the type of player often referenced I can think of. If you have something better, I’m all ears.

Fact is they still made it and they made it by beating the other teams that were vying for that spot (Saints, Panthers, Falcons, Redskins).  They didn't back into the playoffs or something like that, they went on a 7-2 run to clinch a playoff birth before the final week of the season.  Had the Rams beat the 49ers week 18 then the Eagles would have been the 6th seed.
