Every year I have a tradition where I buy the jersey of my favorite college player no matter what team he lands on. This year it’ll be Jameson Williams. It just happened to be WRs the last 3 years. CeeDee Lamb jersey, Chase jersey. This year will be Williams. Will be interesting if he goes to Washington and I have both a cowboys and commies jersey in my closet 😈

None of those guys excite me. If we had a chance I’d just assume trade back a few spots. But I’m hoping they draft a QB so I’ll have a reason to watch games this year. 😂

Garrett Wilson doesn't excite you 🤔

When people make claims about QB's NOT going early in drafts it's almost like they have never watched the NFL draft before. There are always going to be teams with high picks desperate for QB's who will talk themselves into someone. There will be at least two QB's off the board by the time the Eagles pick, if not 3.

Congrats. I‘ll admit I went into every game hoping we‘d win but thinking we‘d lose. And I consider myself an optimist..

For the faithful with full confidence then cudos to you. I know the forum was full of doom and gloom and ‚we will never win‘ and ‚Fire Howie‘…

That 2017 team was the only one I ever felt confident enough to do sports betting. I usually avoid it like the plague. I threw myself at it when they opened at +9 against NE. Surprisingly (and thankfully) I split it 50/50 between the spread and moneyline. Haven't bet since lol

He’s my favorite of that list, for sure. I just don’t think WR is a smart pick this year.  I know, don’t  draft for need.... and we do actually need another WR. But yeah, if they drafted Wilson I’d have no complaints.

What combo of picks would most disappoint you? I’m talking about names that have been talked about as going in the Eagles range, not them taking guys projected in the 3rd round or something obviously.

Wyatt and McDuffie to me would be the most disappointing combo, and unfortunately I have a feeling it could end up going down that way. I’m way out on both of those guys, McDuffie more than Wyatt, but both.

I think you have the problem of a lot of people here, you look at the star QBs and ask why Hurts isn't as good, and subconsciously think it won't be that hard to upgrade.

I look at the population of starting QBs, and note how many are worse than Hurts, which is close to half, and more than half if you look at a 2-3 year period (i.e., bad QBs tend to be replaced by other bad QBs). So I'm a lot more pessimistic about the odds of upgrading Hurts, because most 1st rd QBs over the last decade have played worse than Hurts last season.

The top QBs play a decade or more, so it's easy to think, top ten is 1/3, so the odds aren't that great, 20 misses for 10 or so hits - but the bottom half churns on a regular basis, so it's more like 40-50 QBs fail for every 10 that succeed. If Hurts is 15-20th in the NFL at 23 years old, are the odds better that he can incrementally improve or that you'll draft a QB in the top 15 picks that may become a top ten QB in 2-3 years?

Given that this year's QB crop has more question marks than last year or a number of other seasons, and of the 5 1st rd QB last year, only Jones played as well as Hurts, what are the odds than any QB taken this year will be as good as Hurts in 2022? Or even 2023? Slim. Note that a couple of these QBs are OLDER than Hurts.

I hear ya. But all QBs are question marks EVERY year. There’s really no such thing as a "sure fire” NFL QB. And if there is, he’s going #1 overall. What I’d be willing to look for in a QB is someone with maybe physical question marks (small hands, small frame, etc) but shows the knack for quick processing, quick getting the ball out, timing throws and mental acumen. Those are the traits that every single great QB ever has had. No great QB has lacked those things. Some lack size, some lack athleticism, but none of them lack the mental aspect of the game. That’s what makes or breaks their careers. I just think you get too hung up on stats and let numbers cloud what your eyes are telling you. The Bucs coach saw what I see. So, I may not work for an NFL team, but it doesn’t take a football genius to see what many of us are seeing

Agreed on Wyatt, I'm also out on Karlaftis and Linderbaum which I could see being the picks at 18.

Wyatt and Karlaftis.

A 24-year-old DT who lacks pass rush chops and also has off the field concerns. Gross.

Karlaftis is fine, just not my cup of tea as a pass rusher.

Drake London and Karlaftis

Forgot about Karlaftis. I’m out on him also.

I don't want any of the following: London, and OL 1st round, Karlaftis, McDuffie, Howell, Wyatt...and maybe even Davis.

As much hate this will receive. Davis and Karlaftis. Can't see the value there long term and I can end up completely wrong. A true NT who u HOPE can play multiple techs, control his weight and develop some pass rush isn't a pick for me. He is not close to ngata, vita vea, wilfork.

I would take Pickens at 18. I think he will definitely end up being top 3 in this class, but I have a hunch he will be the best when we look back a few years from now. A little crazy but I don't want to miss out on him.

I am a huge London fan , but I can see Dotson ending up best WO in draft …. My favorite long shot Ezukanma , he is being slept on , Tolbert too .

Here's a question:

Assuming Wilson drops to us and we don't have other attractive options (ie. Davis/Johnson/Stingley), do you trade down with GB and KC to 28/29 and pick up a 2nd (and change)?

Yes I would

Anyway we will all agree to disagree. Some of u are the same who wanted noticable draft bust of yesteryear. While I've been hitting on picks and taking wagers in the pool of CC's. Hot take or not Davis won't be worth his selection. Maybe 25-30 range I can accept.

Any combination of 2 of the following players - Drake London, Tyler Linderbaum, Devonte Wyatt, Jordan Davis, or a massive reach for someone like Boye Mafe or Travis Jones obviously.

I would be ok with Karlaftis and McDuffie. I think Karlaftis will at least be a 6-10 sack guy who plays hard and holds his own in the run game and DE is such a huge need. If McDuffie didn't play for Washington I could overlook the 5'11 short arms thing. Dude was a baller in college and he is a perfect fit in our defensive scheme.

My main realistic targets are Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jameson Williams, Andrew Booth, and Jermaine Johnson. I don't see it happening but I'd be happy with Lloyd or Dean. Depending on how things go I would also be perfectly fine with them trading down late into round 1 and taking Burks, Hill, Cine, Mafe, or Ebiketie. I would steer clear of Kaiir Elam in that range because I think he's a terrible fit in this defense.

I agree. After watching him get the ball out quick and listening to his combine interview, he just seems to have something that I like. People act like the ball is just gonna fall out of his hands. 😂

Absolutely not. First of all, we should get more value then a late 2nd to move down from 15 to 28/29. Second that is overthinking things. Wilson is the best WR in the draft. He's Stefon Diggs. You take him at 15 if he's there, period.

Pickens not Pickett lol

I like Pickens a lot too.  He has a nasty streak that is rare for a WR.  You think any of that could rub off on Reagor if he was an Eagle?

I think 18 is too high for him.  I'd be in on him if they down later in the 1st, get a 3rd or something on top of it.  Or trade up in the 2nd to get him.

He's gonna be a very good pro.

Meant to put down 2nd (and change) since I don't know the value off hand. I'd expect them take Wilson there but was curious what other people thought since some people are very WR resistant currently.
