I would take Pickens at 18. I think he will definitely end up being top 3 in this class, but I have a hunch he will be the best when we look back a few years from now. A little crazy but I don't want to miss out on him.

I've said the same thing. He should be in discussion for WR1. So I wouldn't bat an eye if they took him in round 1.

He's WR1 for me.

Absolutely.  The point is that Hurts didn’t take us to the playoffs any more than the defense did.  The defense improved from 2020 to 2021 and took us to the playoffs…if that’s enough to not address the qb position and think Hurts has this limitless upside, then why do we need to address the defense this year?

I am well aware.  The foolishness from those ardently defending Hurts is endless and falls short when put to a logic test.

He's WR1 for me.

Without a QB that can throw an accurate pass, read progressions and read defenses there will never be a WR 1.

This kind of hot take is only going to cause more dissapointment in the end for fans of Hurts. It's completely unrealistic.

Going to be honest, Your mocks have been pretty bad.

Sadly though Howie hasnt had a greatest track record so you might just be onto something.

My mocks are excellent if you know the players. Also, they may look comparatively worse than everyone elses because most other people are using PFF or PFN simulators with wildly inaccurate player rankings that allows them go get 2nd rounders through round 5 and allows for unrealistic trades. So yeah those are gonna look pretty nice.

thats out of context. Pickens is the WR1 in this draft. Our QB situation is irrelevant.

We just have to hope that will change. We need a supporting base for the next QB. If a big name Is QB becomes available and has a NTC, having a great WR room and o-line will be enticing.

Since you guys are so unfamiliar with a lot of draft players this year, here is another video for you. Brand new Nick Cross highlights. Happy Easter

You don;t know how the game works do you?

Really, because the last time they took a QB early in the 1st round the coach, GM, and Owner all went out on Lurie's private jet to the workouts for Wentz and Goff and took them out to dinner.

Anything else.

Apparently there is footage of a fight between Kelvin Joseph and the murder victim shot from a car Joseph was riding in.

Good thing we didn’t ruin his stellar reputation.

When people make claims about QB's NOT going early in drafts it's almost like they have never watched the NFL draft before. There are always going to be teams with high picks desperate for QB's who will talk themselves into someone. There will be at least two QB's off the board by the time the Eagles pick, if not 3.

There are also Coaches and GMs who know they may only have 1 year left, so will take a risk. If it works in the short term, great.  If it doesn't, it's not their problem

Most of us are old timers and it's obvious to almost of us that Hurts isn't a quality starter.  He has no plus qualities as a passer. None. With his legs he can get you by for a little while which essentially leaves you in perennial state of mediocrity

This to me is the biggest problem with someone like Hurts as a longer term starter. Not good enough to be really competitive (yeah, I know we made the playoffs. We played like we belonged there too 🤣) and not bad enough to have good draft picks.

Fun part. Jameis Winston had 14 in 7 games in a team with almost nothing going on... Hurts is tied with Davis Mills at 16 with more starting games. The dude isn't very good

Davis Mills was an actual rookie - like, you know his first year of playing in the NFL, not his 2nd 'first year'. And Mills' supporting cast probably wasn't as good as Hurts. I don't know anything about Houston except they're a punchline.

I'm not saying teams never take QBs in round 1 without the head coach, GM, owner there for a visit/dinner but more often than a not a team does more than a conversation at the combine and dinner with the OC.

That magical night in Minneapolis is been replayed on NFL network in a few hours. God that was such a good night.

Vin says honey badger deal is done, waiting for Sixers game/Easter to announce. Honey badger will ring the bell at game 2 for the Sixers. Take it for what it's worth.

I was saying hurts isn't that good lol a true rookie with an awful team throwing 16 isn't awful

Lol as much as I hope that’s true, can’t believe it. Would be a cool entrance though!

I agree, especially with a mediocre supporting cast. Apparently the Texans think so too, they don't seem to be in this year's Quarterback derby.

You were big Tee Higgins fan as well if I recall correctly.  How to you think Pickens compares?

I like Pickens.  He has great hands (albiet kind of small), hand eye coordination and catch radius.

He is always falling down though on a lot of his catches.  Maybe because Fromm was all over the place lol.  Don't see as much YAC ability which kind of worries me.  And his frame, injury history are also concerns.  I think that is why is he is 2nd round prospect.

Its a bit different when you have the number 2 pick in the draft and the number 1 pick was not being traded.

Oh yeah.  No team will do what the Eagles did with Dillard on a QB but the Bears last year were a great example of a coach and GM going all in on a QB in the hope it saved their skin.  The Lions may take a QB; the Giants could take one as they've not committed to Jones past this year.

Anyway, I digress.  The overall thought is teams with a perceived lack of time, do irrational things.

Lol, yes because the Eagles have never announced something on Easter before.

Also, imagine the Eagles not wanting to steal the current spotlight of another Philadelphia team
