Sixers playing some good ball.  Maxey is insane good.  If Harden can step up his game, I think they can play with anyone.

after the injury, he ran a 4.3 and answered the injury question. He should be back in the top 10 conversation.

Not having to include Maxey in the Simmons/Harden deal was the best thing to happen to this team.

Thank God since Harden looks pretty much done. Seriously hope Sixers don't max him out.

I dont follow baseball. But I have been checking box scores this season to see how the Phillies incredible lineup is doing. Today I see they are 4-6 so far on the season. And now Im seeing in the 5th inning, still just one hit. Other nights I see 3 hits in the entire game. How the hell is that possible? Harper can usually get 3 hits on his own. Youre telling me this entire lineup cant get a few more, and he cant get any now? What is going on?

Maxey was never an option in the deal to move Simmons.

Sitting Bohm, even though he was hitting 0.700.   Schwarber hasn't been hitting at the top spot.  And now Girardi is tinkering with the lineup trying to tweak it.

right, but he could have been in the Harden trade with Houston that Fertitta vetoed. 6ers didnt know what they had yet at that point. Doc had him shelved mostly.

seems necessary.

Hitting has been awful outside of like castellanos, realmuto and bohm. But their starters prior to tonight had an era in the high 5s

that sounds better than expected out of their pitching. Maybe I exaggerate a bit, but still bad pitching is expected with this team is it not? Seems you cant even begin to blame them till that sick lineup starts getting more than 3 hits a night.

My biggest fear with signing schwarber was his 4 months tear last year was contract year. someone would overpay and you’d never get that type of consistent production out of the contract. Plus his fielding is bad. If they were willing to go into the luxury tax i preferred going castellanos and Bryant. Bryant could play outfield, first and 3rd and gives you flexibility. Whereas schwarber can only DH and play OF. I’m hoping schwarber turns it around but i wasn’t thrilled with the signing but then again i wasn’t super high on him since his time with the cubs.

Yes... and No.

They have 3 guys in the lineup tonight hitting under 0.200.  Vierling, Stott and Schwarber.   Just gotta ride out Schwarber a bit.  Moving Harper to #2 seems unnecessary.  He needs to stay at #3.

Bryant got as much as Castellanos and Schwarber combined, I think.  I don't think that he was really ever an option at that money.  Next question is... would you rather have Bryant over both Castellanos and Schwarber?

He was in the first deal when Morey wanted to get Harden from Houston before he went to the Nets.

pitching and hitting has been awful. Problem is wheeler’s shoulder was bothering him before the season and it looks like his velocity is down . That’s really bad for the Phillies. He has to be an ace and he got rocked by the marlins and wasn’t all that sharp his first outing. Nola has been what he has the last 3 years. Off and on. Suarez and eflin are unknowns to what you are going to get. and gibson is really a 5th starter. Plus the bullpen is also not good. The lineup is a bigger disappointment so far but the starting rotation has been bad.

I don't think anyone knew what Maxey was then.

Why the heck couldn't they have signed any decent pitchers in the last few years?

Well,  it's been about 20 years.

Hmmm i rather not have schwarber and spent the money on pitching with castellanos to be honest. I like castellanos cause he’s a contact hitter and i think he’s going to flirt with 300. I think schwarber there was a greater chance for bust potential. That said Bryant has been raking so far this year.

Well, maybe not everything.  But I knew that.
