Not sure how... All jokes aside he had multiple 100 yd games and TDs so imo it counts all things considered. The walk off TD in OT vs Dallas has to count for something. Not a true #1 or 2 but if your offense is utilized best using the slot wr then it should matter. Unless I'm looking at the game wrong, cooper kupp i feel the same as well.

Cooper Kupp and Jordan Matthews... ok.

What happens in Philly that WR get mental issues? Nelson Agholor, JJAW and Reagor.  All of them effed in the head when the get here.

Two 1st round picks and a 2nd.  Why do the Eagles have these issues?  Are they completely ignoring interviewing these guys?  There has to be a reason.

It's all our fault.  The fans put too much pressure on them to actually practice route running and catch a football.  We should be content that they are willing to block!

I would be curious to know who scouts the WRs or if there has been any turnover there. Where does Howie get his info to make some of the most boneheaded decisions at WR?

Supposedly the scouts had Reagor over Jefferson.  Doug wanted Reagor.  Howie chose the wrong advice.

Im not comparing them as players, only that the offenses were focused on getting big plays, first downs, yac from the slot. Which matthews fit the role and excelled. Yes i know thats all slot WRs job but an offense being centered around that in order to work has to be judged differently i would imagine.

I know you like Deebo.

1st & 2nd for Deebo.

Do you pull the trigger?

Howie doesn't know how to draft WRs. Sirianni coming in with his expertise being WRs I'm sure helped in keying in on DeVonta to draft.

Oh yeah - I'm sure new head puppet of the Philadelphia Eagles, Nick Sirianni, had a ton of input and influence trading up with the Cowboys to draft a real WR.    Just when I think you couldn't get any dumber.............

I love Devonta by the way, and I think higher of him than most in the blog (because Hurts is as bad of a passer as it gets).  The fact that he had the rookie season that he did is a miracle in itself since he was open on almost every route he ran.  I just hope he stays healthy and positive so he can build some real chemistry with a real QB next year before he gets paid.

Deebo Samuel should have been born in Philadelphia.  The guy bleeds Philly tough.  He’s the "Rocky” of the NFL.

When was the last time you witnessed a WR tougher than most RB’s in the league?

Personally, I’ve never seen a WR like him.  Amazing player.  Puts his head down and ROLLS over people…as a WR.

And he has the hands, the quickness and agility to be the best.  He’s unique and generational, imo.

Yeah I doubt he had anything to do with trading up either.  But when it came to the draft preparation process I'm sure as a former WR and WR coach that as the HC of the team he gave his opinions and insight on the wide receivers.

Hate that for your colleague.  I know nothing about law, but it sounds like some serious collusion.  I promise I'm not being being sarcastic for once.

Bird law in this country is not governed by reason.

100% Deebo Samuel.

I understand the draft is only a few days away but 1st round pick draft prospects still only have a 50/50 chance of even being in the league after 5 years.

This isn’t fantasy football folks.  If you have the opportunity to get a PROVEN top 3-5 talent then you take that shot 10 out of 10 times.  Without question.

What your suggesting is literally fantasy football

The fact that you don't consider Devonta Smith a decent WR shows a lot.  And no.....the Eagles are in no position to trade for Deebo, especially for that much.

Devonte Smith is one of my favorite players.  It’s been nothing but a pleasure to watch him.  He’s an elite route runner, premium hands and makes plays.  He’s top in my book.

Now imagine Deebo Samuel on the other side.

Exactly.

49ers don’t want to trade him. So you are going to have to overpay to acquire him. On top of that you are going to have to pay him to be at least top 3 money at the WR position, around $25M APY.

How does that make sense for this team? How is building the team up at multiple positions, at multiple levels, through rookie deals to help reset the cap "fantasy football” but over paying both in draft capital and money, not?

It’s literally a fantasy scenario.

Mistook you for @NITEF4LL.  My mistake!   Still no to Deebo.  We have nobody to throw him the ball, and he wants to leave SF so he isn't used as a dual threat anymore.  He's about to get paid as the new 2nd highest paid position in football.  NO!

It won’t be that much.

49ers are a mess.  He requested a trade, so that drops his asking price - salary as well.

1st + 2nd round pick - 18-20 mil per year, 3-4 years, only half guaranteed should get it done, imo.

I dunno if I the Eagles are in a position to trade for Deebo, but yeah this pretty much sums up my thoughts on the man. He's just a flat out fantastic player and I love watching him.

What are you even talking about? They are "a mess” why? They were just in the NFC Championship Game.

It won’t be that much why? Cause you say so? He’s under contract and they had him for only three years. He’s a top WR in the game. He can ask to be traded all he wants, it won’t be the first time the team says "no”. Even if they agree to trade him, there’s not a no trade clause. So teams can bid each other up.

He’ll ask for $18-20M, 3 to 4 year with only half guaranteed why? That’s a significant discount to what Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill just got. And probably less than DK or AJ Brown will get. Christian freakin Kirk just got that deal. If Deebo agrees to that he should fire his agent and get checked for CTE.

And how does asking for a trade ever drop salary price?

You sound obsessed lol but i would go insane if they trade for him. Essentially its a win-win, force hurts to throw 5-20 yard passes accurately with 3 weapons on the field. Possibly a 4th quez being the deep threat. If hurts does good you roll with him if not then we look for a new QB.

1. He’s on his rookie contract.  So 18 million more per year would be appealing, no?

”I’m going to tear up your rookie contract making 1.2 million per year for a contract making 18 million per year”

 And Deebo says no?

That’s "literally” never happened and won’t likely happen with Deebo.

Anyway, I understand it’s a long shot. But would you do it if you’re Howie?

Deebo is fun as hell to watch and would love him on the team. Loved him during the draft process too. He’d fit Philly well, he’s a guy that plays pissed off. It wouldn’t make sense though.

Did signing Nick Foles for 7 million per year as a backup make sense at the time?

We all know how that worked out.

Sometimes you need to take the leap…to move forward.

I dunno if "obsessed" is the right term. I mean yeah, I would leave my wife and first-born child if Deebo asked me to. Even just in a dream. But obsessed?  I dunno about that.
