Talk about a "heavy hitting” team.

You get a guy like Deebo at WR - with Devonte Smith on the other side - Sanders/Comittee - Hurts at QB

That’s a pounding - blasting offense - defense killing offense.

It would be fun to watch - all the way to the Super Bowl.

I am basically the captain of the Jalen Hurts is terrible train, but Samuel is so good even Hurts can't screw him up. An average depth of target of 8.2 yards and he's averaging over 18 yards per reception is unheard of

The offense would be really good even with poor QB play with the weapons and the OL being this good

And then you draft a QB next year, you have that player on a rookie contract, and fitting in Samuel works

I just know Howie is going to use one of these firsts on a player I think is terrible and will bust and I think Samuel is a hall of fame level talent and he just turned 26. You can have him contributing now and years from now. I'm cool with paying the price.

I predicted JJAW to H-back (he's not a TE and will never be big enough to block in-line) a year ago.

He can't separate against CBs, but matched up against safeties and LBs, it could be a different matter, and with another 5-10 lbs (doubt he can play above 235 lbs) he can handle LBs on run downs. Trey Burton was 6'2 238, that's the role that JJAW has to hope he can fill.  Right now his competition is Togiai as 3rd TE (Rodgers can't block to save his life).

JJAW

Jaws

Sharks

Teeth

TE

*I'm wasted.

Deebo is great and would improve any team, but you are asking alot to expect Hurts to throw into the middle of the field and be on time to take advantage of the RAC that is his game.  Hurts has never shown anticipation or patience (or the ability to consistently throw left or middle).  If we just had a complete QB, it makes sense.

Add: I'd also worry that he makes Hurts look just good enough that Howie doesn't do the right thing and replace him the first chance he gets.

Logic.

Yes, I would rather sacrifice a 1st and 2nd round pick for a top 3-5 proven talent at WR - who plays the game tough as nails - than picking random 1st and 2nd round picks who have less than a 50% chance of being in the league after 5 years.

And yes, a top 5 player is worth 18-20 mil per year.

Next.

The Eagles aren't going to trade for Deebo and if they do, it would be foolish. The player is great, but he isn't a fit for where we are right now.

This is a team that is heavily devoid of defensive talent. Sure we need help offensively as well, but defense is the biggest issue aside from QB.

If he's a top 5 talent, then he's going to cost a plethora of picks and 20ish million a year. The Eagles aren't going to do that when they are currently a run first team and have no defense. He isn't going to be running, that's one of his issues.

You're going to send multiple picks and spend all that money for a guy who a) is injury prone and b) would get 50 targets in this offense?

Some logic.

It won’t be that much.

49ers are a mess.  He requested a trade, so that drops his asking price - salary as well.

1st + 2nd round pick - 18-20 mil per year, 3-4 years, only half guaranteed should get it done, imo.

Thats way too much for this team to pay for him.

1. He’s on his rookie contract.  So 18 million more per year would be appealing, no?

”I’m going to tear up your rookie contract making 1.2 million per year for a contract making 18 million per year”

 And Deebo says no?

That’s "literally” never happened and won’t likely happen with Deebo.

Anyway, I understand it’s a long shot. But would you do it if you’re Howie?

No.  He's going to demand "market value", and if you see him as a top 3-5 WR, what do you think he thinks of himself?  He's not going to settle for $18M when the market is almost $10M higher than that.

Reminder... Samuel wants out of SF because he doesn't want to be a running back type WR anymore.

Btw, you seem to be forgetting how many games he's missed over his career due to injury.  He's making this push for better career longevity.  The Eagles wouldn't be a better rushing team with Samuel, or he he wouldn't be happy here and demand another trade.  It doesn't make sense to give up what you are projecting for him.  He's not putting this team into serious contention.

I predict this is a move just before they cut him.

How do you know he didn't use a timer on a real camera?

Randomly saw an article about an incoming Alabama freshman WR working out with Devonta Smith, and it included the picture below.  Looks like hes really been working on upper body strength.  Hes almost as big now as he was in pads last yearimage.thumb.png.1bb272041084bcb224f02485f282ea56.png

I dont want neither.

But I'd take London.

I dont want to pay Deebo. I dont want to lose a 3rd, Deebo won't fit this offense this year, or next year.

In fact, I'll go hot take. I think Deebo is a fragile gimmick player and he knows this, which is why he's trying to cash in.

Deebo as a "pure wr" (which is what he wants) he's basically JAG.

Ah, the Bacarty hot take....you know as a WR, he put up 77 catches for 1405 yards and 6 TDs last year right? That's certainly better than JAG

Lot of things to take on here...

77 Catches doesnt even get you into the top 20. 6 Touchdowns doesnt get you in the top 35? ish. Not to mention he's only done it for one year.

People in sports, not just here, get hooked on an Outlier year.

In my opinion, with defenses adjusting to him, with how he loves to get injured, I dont think Deebo comes close to those numbers ever again in his career.

Outlier year , you mean like you do with Wentz and 2017 ?

I'm not saying athletic wise, or even skill wise, but career wise I see Deebo being Kevin Curtis like.

Battled injuries, good, really good when healthy. had a monster year and then went back to battling injuries.

Injuries are obviously a major concern with him, and I wouldn't trade for him right now if I'm the Eagles.

But, consider he had Jimmy G throwing him the ball. Then, they shifted his role to more of an RB in the 2nd half of the season, so his catch total would likely have escalated. Same with his TDs. His rookie year was pretty decent too, with 57 for 802.

He's most certainly in the conversation of top 5 WR.

So just to keep up with your comparison with Wentz.

If Wentz put up a year of... 6500 yards, 66 touchdowns, and 200 rushing yards I would most defiantly call it an outlier year.

I mean, he's only done it one year, and if we had to rank a pure WR top 5 over the last 2 years, he's probably not top 10.

and to be honest,  the way HE wants to be used, as a pure WR, no I dont think he can be a top 5, just catching the ball WR.

And yes, his rushes did take away from his catches, BUT, when he did catch the ball out of the backfield(which he did often) it pumped up his recieving yards, so almost a

What 10 do you think are better than him?

Again, loaded question. Just last year? where he had a random outbreak season where Shanahan moved heaven and earth to get him the ball? or since he's been in the league? or a combonation of both?

Regardless of which top 5-10 you want... Kupp, Adams, Justin Jefferson, Diggs, Tyreek Hill, Jamarr Chase,  should be no brainers. In any category.

If you told me Samual was only being a ball catcher(which is what he wants) I'd take a lot over him.

It's not a loaded question. It's as of right now, and moving forward, what 10 WRs would you take over Deebo? You've listed 6. And arguably Deebo is better than Diggs of those 6 you've listed.
