Idk much about Harris but I thought I read he was good in coverage.

He has the athleticism to be good in coverage but I don't think he good enough instincts to be a top tier MLB. Probably slots in better as a WILL which we just signed in the offseason with Kyzir.

Isn't he working out at 3DQB working specifically on his feet placement, mechanics and accuracy issues? That they moved away from his old trainer and went to one that helped a portion of the league's QBs get better.

Going into his third season?   Yay!   (insert golf clap here)

They drafted him in 2020... where they started using him as a gadget player, basically as a Wildcat QB... he was Ronnie Brown from the first year of the Dolphins doing it early in the year.  Then when he became the starter, it was a lot of sandlot ball.

Fast forward to 2021... it seems that Sirianni tried to put him in a passing offense, like he had planned on running when he came here expecting Wentz as the starting QB.  And he fell on his face.  So, they revamped the offense, went run heavy (which I applaud, except for this piece...) including QB designed runs!  And the passing game with him continued to be... sandlot football by and large, where he'd escape the pocket as a regular part of the offense, even with good pass protection.  And rather than trying to reign him in and teach him how to play NFL QB and play from the pocket... they allowed him to run, encouraged him to run, and even designed plays specifically for him to run.  That's the short term gain that you were bemoaning about the college QB development.  The Eagles are following the same basic blueprint.

Do you really think that now after this many years of him being allowed to play instinctual sandlot football as his primary success tool, that one offseason is going to fix him and make him a pocket passer?   Nah.  It might start out that way for a few weeks, but if it doesn't work right away for him, he'll revert quickly to his old ways of running around like a chicken with his head cut off in the pocket and from the pocket.

For 3 years at Alabama, 1 year at OU, and 2 years with the Eagles, his primary tool has been his legs.  I have a hard time seeing that changing by flipping a switch because he's finally working on the things that he should have been doing since the day after the Eagles drafted him... and should have been working to get him comfortable in the pocket, not running read options as a Wildcat Qb... which is a large part of what the Eagles' offense became down the stretch of last season, when it was found out that he really wasn't good at the RPO... because he was just too slow to get rid of the ball, and the OL were constantly being flagged for being down field.

He would be a good 2nd round pick.

Didn't realize it was on Sunday this year. What a stupid tweet

I double checked before posting to confirm.  It's silly to expect that the NFL wouldn't play a triple header on Sunday... when that's what they always do... every Sunday of the season, including the last Sunday of the regular season... and into the playoffs.

Apparently they never did it before when Christmas was on a Sunday. At least that's what the article said. Most of the games will be Saturday afternoon, one will be Saturday night, and then 1PM, 4PM, 8:15PM on Christmas.

I did go back further to get more information.

You are correct.  2016 was the last time.

https://www.nfl.com/schedules/2016/REG16/

Most of the games were on Saturday.  2 on Sunday.  1 on Monday and 1 on Thursday.

Not sure why its a big deal though.  NFL plays on Sundays.   They expand to a few games on Saturdays when the NCAA season is over.

Strategically going against the NBA. They do huge numbers on Christmas. It's a smart move.

In the mind i guess fans of his are comparing the situation to other mobile qbs who struggled with passing coming into the league. The one thing forgotten is most of those QBs had a good throwing arm and was accurate more than he has ever shown to be. This is really getting insane, same ppl dont want baker or trubisky, etc at their ceilings but justify hurts for this magical unknown potential. As I've said numerous times he's literally a college freshman with athletic ability playing QB.

Whose going to win the infidelitist bracket? Lots of good teams in the Fletcher Cox, Pat Burrell, Wilt Chamberlain and Jeff Carter brackets.

Really hope they put the Cowboys on at the same time as the Lakers.

Cheap. Same contract as Harris but only 25 years old vs soon to be 31

If the Hamilton slide rumors are true, coming out of this draft with Hamilton and JDavis and without giving up our 2nd rounder to do it would be just about the perfect Thursday night.

7-Round mock from Chad Reuter on NFL.com.  Has the Eagles taking:

#15 -- Jordan Davis DT

#18 -- Jameson Williams WR

#51 -- Jaquan Brisker S

#83 -- Chigoziem Okonkwo TE

#101 -- Tariq Castro-Fields CB

#124 -- Brandon Smith LB

#154 -- Eric Johnson DT

#162 -- EJ Perry QB

#166 -- Jaylen Watson CB

#237 -- Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa DE

Started out pretty good and kind of crapped out in the later rounds.  Can't say he doesn't have us taking a DE, though.
