That’s about as clean a pocket as you’re going to get in the NFL, Hurts just wasn’t able to step up and make the throw for whatever reason (he has awful anticipation). What video are you watching? Hurts was doing circles like a dog excited to be given a treat.

Dang Tex, as a fellow southerner you should detect the sarcasm.

I’m not referring to the sarcasm I’m referring to RTK. Thanks though for the dumb comment.

Or... we should recognize that they can't fill all the holes in one draft and just focus on getting the best players available and come back and finish filling the holes the next draft.

and go 7-9, no thanks

This week should be Dillard watch. If anyone is going to trade for him, it’s probably going to be in the next 7 days so they can pick up the 5th year option for another year at a reasonable price. Now that it’s fully guaranteed, it would be too risky for the Eagles to pick it up, lose all leverage next year and have a $12M backup.

Don’t see anyone else with a prominent name getting traded. Reagor isn’t fetching a 2 and I don’t think they trade Minshew. There are no good options at backup QB to replace him with.

Hamilton's tape speaks for it self. He's the fastest guy to the ball on the field every game I've seen if him.

In college he played all over, he lined up deep in single high or cover two, lined up in the box in base sets or as a dime LB lined up in the slot as a blitzer or covered receivers, TEs, RBs, blitzed through the A gap.

I think he's a top ten talent.

He'll most likely fall out of top ten because he's a safety and the league values other positions over safety.

If he's there at either of eagles first round picks I'd have to take a long look at drafting him depending on who else is on the board

If he somehow fell out of the 1st round Id imagine more than a few teams would be interested in drafting him there.

We'll see ,I like him a lot as a prospect but i understand the hesitation of using a high pick on him.

With his measurables Hamilton projects as a LB/S hybrid. It’s certainly not a bad thing, especially with his instincts and tackling ability. IMO he’s overdrafted above 15, solid value between 16-25, great value after that.

When Caplan or Mosher mentioned getting another WR, Cosell responded with "WHY”!!

Exactly! Hurts has thrown to Ridley, DeVonta, Jeudy, Waddle, Ruggs, Lamb, OJ Howard, Irv Smith etc and never looked the part. That's 8 different first round pass catchers, not to mention the talent he had along the Oline and in the backfield. Drafting another WR in the 1st round wont help his marginal arm, his lack of anticipation or his propensity to abandoning clean pockets.

Yup, like the above post says about cosell when asked about eagles getting another WR and cosell says, Why???

I think another WR would help out another young QB like say Carson strong, but going forward with hurts what's the point?

It's not like hurts can get him the ball, ex. Quez  in Tampa playoff should have had 200 yards but hurts couldn't get him the ball, how would say AJ brown help if hurts can't get him the ball.

25 mil seems like a lot for a WR that the QB can't get the ball to.

I changed my mind on taking a WR high once I saw the deals for Hill & Adams. It's not so much about going all in on Hurts but for the offense's future in general. I think Hurts is just holding it over until 2023, which I'm fine with because I'm not crazy about this crop of QB's. But if you get a WR this draft we'd have a nice young and cheap tandem to grow together for the new young QB. Howie just CAN NOT miss. I think this years 1st rounders have less bust potential at least. I was dead set against Reagor, I don't find myself feeling that with these top guys. London makes me a little nervous but I don't have a Reagor vibe with him...

Yup, I see zero reason to not try and trade Dillard and I imagine there will be few teams willing to make a draft day trade, hopefully Howie doesn't get stubborn and stick to some stupid archaic points formula, but I'll give him the benefit of doubt, he's pretty good with value for trades, I don't expect Dillard to be an eagle in a week.

Going 9-8, immediately bounced in the first round and having just average but not good players going forward isn’t a good option either

Most NFL offenses use high school concepts BTW. Dallas was a top 5 passing offense last year and they run more basic concepts than we do.

I do get their argument for not wanting an early WR though. If we won't throw, what's the point? IMO, we should still get a WR early for Hurt's 2023 replacement.

Sure they do, as most NFL QB’s need the center to set the protection, and the OC to set the primary receiver for Hurts to look for before he runs.  The HS passing concepts the Eagles are using have to simplify the passing attack for Hurts, if that’s what you want for the Eagles QB that’s ok, it’s not what I want.  A QB with Hurts experience should be able to play off of feel, and not have everything set up perfectly for him to complete a pass.

Same was said for Kam Chancellor, almost same height weight speed measurables.

Kam turned out ok.

Like I said I think he'll be a good player, I could be wrong wouldn't be the first nor last but I think he can be a really good NFL player

I have my own personal reservations with these hybrid guys. I wouldn’t hate the pick but I would be skeptical initially.

Yup, with the ridiculous WR contracts handed out recently I e may be better off taking chances with rookie WRs and trying to get the most out those 4-5 years before they price out.

I don't like London in the 1st, I think he'll be a chain mover kind of like Keyshawn was but he's not going to be a game breaker.

Yup, I understand that skepticism, Hamilton isn't the norm and in a league that heavily favors passing, guys that can at least attempt to defend the pass are at a premium over a guy like Hamilton who NFL isn't sure he can cover in the NFL.

Sad how the league is turning into a 7 on 7 tourney👎

This team has so many holes, I can't see a player at a position of non-need, being that much better than a position of need... What are the non-need positions anyway? Maybe LT, G... C? I wouldn't be crazy about Lindenbaum but even that move can make sense. I actually would be totally fine with a OG like Tyler Smith if he was so far and beyond the next best position of need player in round 2, say. Definitely QB, but I hope they are setting the table for next years draft with the moves already made and better crop coming out. Point being, there's enough holes that the best available players shouldn't really be reaches of need positions, never mind crazy reaches.

Agree 💯 regarding his potential but that’s dependent upon being put in the right system with correct usage. Kam benefitted tremendously being in the same secondary as Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman, thereby insulating his limitations and highlighting his strengths

Start this at around 21:48, you can find it on You Tube or Apple Podcasts, this is Cosell talking about the Eagles pass game.

Yup and sadly lining Hamilton up next to Harris and whatever scrub 2nd CB the eagles trot out there won't help.

Legion of boom the eagles are not.

I'm not sure Hamilton really fits what Gannon likes to do anyway and I still think Hamilton can be a good NFL player, probably not fir the current eagles though.

Hate to say it as we would yet have a different DC but Gannon gets canned after this year.

Most QBs in today's NFL don't call protection. The Center does.

QBs aren't even allowed to audible in a Shanahan-style offense. Hurts is not Brady, but we're pretty middle of the pack when it comes to much control the QB gets.

Not sure I trust Howie to build a defense either. Scratch that, I don't. He needs to prove the doubters wrong. I think Hamilton will be a very good football player. But that's a good point with surrounding him properly, is Howie going to do that?

Here's what cosell says about Hamilton at 21:30 then goes on to brisker and Hill

Good stuff from Cosell.

Cosell really likes Hill, he thinks Hamilton is a top 5 prospect.
