The biggest reason I want Williams is that he’s the best complement to DeVonta.

In Smitty, we already have a WR that will siphon the majority of targets. As a result you need someone across from him that can make the most out of the targets he is given.

Thats what Williams can do better than anyone in this draft. You don’t need to feed him 7-10 targets a game, he can have a major impact with 4-5 a game.

Yup, he'd be a great compliment to Smith, have Smith be your X have Jameson at Z Watkins in the slot, that's a good balanced explosive trio for hurts to have block for him when he's spinning in clean pockets.

But yeah I get your point and still his injury would worry me

ACL isn't as serious as say an Achilles but the eagles recent record with injuries and drafting injured players is horrific, which would give me pause.

Do other fans enjoy the draft or do they sit in fear like me that their GM will f it all up?

I used to enjoy it... now I sit in fear.

Or... that's the way the story goes.

Y'all are extra dramatic today. Must be draft week. :pizza:

I haven't had good wings in some time.  Maybe I'll do that.

I smoke my wings now.  So good.... better than the stuff you order in take out... just my opinion though.  My son still prefers the take out.

Ive never smoked wings, usually oven or air fry.

How long do you generally smoke your wings and at what temp?

Jameson Williams is the best deep threat in the draft...

Hurts can't throw deep...

🤔

We're getting Carson Strong at 18....

If Jameson Williams is the best pick but wouldn't be utilised well by Hurts, the correct choice is still to draft him though right? And replace Hurts down the line if needed. I don't think you should pass on a player just because another player of yours isn't good enough to utilise him properly (if it does turn out that Hurts isn't good enough - which is yet to be fully determined).

Only if they intend to move on from Hurts in the next year.

I don't think Jameson Williams would be the best pick at 15 and I think that would be exacerbated by pairing him with a QB who can't get him the ball

I also think it's been determined hurts can't throw deep, I mean I get he's a rookie but he's got 6 seasons of college and  pro tape that show he can't so ...

I'd rather spend that luck on a player that can contribute rather than spend a 1st round pick on a 4th or 5th receiving option that the QB can't get the ball to

Having said that I could ultimately see howie taking a deep threat WR coming off an ACL at 15 that his QB can't get the ball to because it's also established that Howie is an idiot.

Who are some of your preferred picks at 15 and 18?

I just really hope no one picks players Howie identified as good picks before 15

My bands hate me this time of year. I will be absent for both Thursday and Saturday gigs to be glued to the draft. Food on the grill. Appetizers to feed an infantry. As the previous poster mentioned, I'm one of those psychos.

Those poor groupies, they will be missing you all weekend.

I blame Howie.  100%, because that's HIS job.  The buck stops with him.

I agree, but my point was that he listened to Doug.

I bake mine. Toss with Tajin ( a Mexican spice blend), Clasico-142g_1-127x300.png berbere (a hot African spice  blend), dried tarragon, and baking powder. Roast 45 minutes at 375.

I make a quick dressing of soy sauce, brown sugar, and sambal Huy Fong Sambal Oelek Paste By Weee! in equal parts and brush it on the wings 10 minutes before taking them out of the oven.  Salty, sweet, hot, and savory, and the baking powder makes them crispy.

I'd invite them over, but they talk too much.

I will lose it if the Eagles draft ______

It's tough to say at certain picks because this draft is unusually unpredictable more so than other drafts.

Some first round guys I like that might be at those picks.

Jordan Davis, kyle Hamilton, stingley, Jermaine Johnson, treylon Burkes, Garrett Wilson I like, not sure about Karalaftis, a guy like Jameson Williams I think would have more value to me over karalaftis. Devonte Wyatt I like a lot who knows where he goes or any of these other players???, Ive heard whispers of Jermaine Johnson being first edge off the board

Like I said it's tough.

I'm not super opposed to taking Jameson Williams at 15 he has the potential to be a desean Jackson like game breaker and I worry 3 1st round WRs 3 years in a row is Detroit lionesque, though on their 4th try they got Calvin Johnson so🤷‍♂️ along with the Injury and uncertainty of hurts it's just a lot to weigh

Around 350-375... roughly 45 minutes or so.

Brine the wings for 30 minutes... salt water solution
Pat them dry.
Sprinkle with baking powder and corn starch (50/50)
Spray down the cooking grate (I use cookie cooling racks on top of the cookie rack to catch the drippings and keep them close together, but not touching)
(no rub, no sauce - but you can do a dry rub if you'd like... which I have done, but prefer without it)

Cook for 20 minutes... then flip.
Check temp in about 15 minutes... skin should be noticably crisping after the first flip.

If the meat is close to 150 or so... I pull them out... mix them in the sauce of choice... and crank the heat to 425-450.
Cook another 5-10 minutes to ensure the sauce sets and the meat rises to 165.   I can then add more sauce if wanted.

I do a garlic parmesan, thai chili, honey bbq, and regular buffalo sauce.

Howie needs to have the order figured out before the draft for Round 1.  Jefferson vs. Reagor should have been ironed out weeks before.

To clarify my thoughts on Hurts - clearly he's had deficiencies as a passer. But I don't think we're yet at the point where we can definitively say that he won't either A) improve in these areas or B) the coaches accept his limitations and structure the offence in a way to mitigate his exposure to these weaknesses and utilise his very clear strengths as a runner. If he doesn't materially improve as a passer, this would probably mean everyone swallowing their pride and accepting that Hurts is best used in a college-esque way. I'm not saying that's an ideal scenario or likely to work for a sustained period of time without defences nullifying it or Hurts getting injured through excessive running but if you commit to that style of QB play, it could be pretty effective.

But yeah, obviously you'd prefer to move on and get an elite passing QB but when you're not picking at the very top of a draft in a good QB year - it's easier said than done.

OL in the 1st or 2nd round. Luckily, I'm not sure there's a lot of players, whether it's on D or WR, at 15/18 that I think would be an absolute whiff if they decided to take so it's probably hard to miss. Knowing us I'll be proven wrong somehow though.

I like Williams and would be thrilled if they got him.

Can you imagine the reaction though if they take Williams and Ojabo while staying at 15 and 18?

A player 1-2 rounds early because they were somehow a good value.

Orrrrrr

When they take the 6th best player at a position when one of the top 4 are still on the board because Howie wants to prove how smart he is.
