This Sixers team is a joke. Game 4 in Toronto, fine. To lose this game at home against an undermanned Toronto team is inexcusable. I don't care if they win this series on Thursday this team is going nowhere. I'm almost rooting for them to blow it so big changes happen starting with the most overrated coach in the league.

any time the team is missing its stars, the bench shows how good it can be and this team has won a bunch of games against better teams without stars in the lineup this season.

The problem is stacking too many stars creates a stagnant version if basketball that isnt working with washed up james harden, and annually injured Embiid.

If they want to try to have 3-4 stars on this team they need to fill the bench with ball hogs like the Schroders of the world. Our bench guys defer all game long to whichever 1-2 stars are still on the court. No one moves. No one else wants to shoot.

Or, we could just get a more balanced team and forget about paying guys like Harden. Spend the money more wisely. Thats the way the NBA has begun heading but we will be late to follow the trend.

So you said in a bunch of words what I said, the bench is trash.

its not. we just have very poor roster building. Its a bunch of mismatched talent for a model that is no longer the way to win in the NBA.

Also, Harden is washed. Re-signing him would be a big mistake. They would have been so much better off trading 25 for Haliburton and Hield which also would have enabled them to keep Curry and Drummond. This organization is really a dumpster fire.

yep... thats a little racist, but I agree.

I am completely stunned by the Sixers game tonight.......but I really shouldn't be. This team is such a bunch of front runners. When things are easy and going well they look great. When there is even the slightest bit of adversity they come up small. Forget being up 3-2, they are a Joel Embiid miss on a miracle shot away from being down 2-3.

Sixers ownership would be the dumbest guys in America if they let Morey give his BFF a max contract this off-season.

They could have a backcourt of Maxey and Haliburton, and two three point shooting assassins with Curry and Hield. Oh, and an actual back up big who gets rebounds in Drummond. Instead we have the ghost of James Harden and we are stuck with him.

100% Morey is a total failure. It was Haliburton, Hield, AND a first. Instead we gave up Simmons, two pieces, and TWO firsts.

Philadelphia hating James Harden was the easiest prediction ever. Just didn’t think it would happen within 3 months.

Maxey, Haliburton, Hield, Harris, Embiid with Curry, Niang, and Drummond coming off the bench would be so much Fing better than what they are stuck with. I never want to see Thybulle and Green play for this team again which is a whole separate issue. This team has major problems.

they were also taking Tobias Harris' albatross contract too and sending Barnes. Who we could have traded as a nice expiring contract and ended up with cap space to sign more help.

I said it was the wrong move at the time, and they should have done other deals instead, especially that Kings deal. But I hoped itd work....

Morey is fool's gold. Never won anything. His entire career is built on having traded for Harden when OKC was on the ropes.

yep. And then he came here and that was always his end goal here too. Trade for Harden. His next move will be to hire D'Antoni- who isnt a fit for this roster either. Wait for it. When Doc blows this 3-0 lead and gets fired, Dantoni is the next coach and Harden will be on a supermax.

Just read a bunch of rumors including one from Dane Brugler than the Jets might take Jermaine Johnson at 4 and they prefer him Kayvon Thibodeaux. Are we calling BS or truth on that one. I thought for sure Johnson would be a possibility in the 9-12 range for a potential Eagles trade up.

Everyone gets so fired up about Harden, but remember we traded Ben Simmons.  The guy tried to bow out of the playoffs on the Sixers LAST year with a COVID excuse and successfully bowed out of the playoffs this year on the Nets with a back excuse.  He literally quit on the Nets harder than he ever did on us already.  There is still a chance he never even plays for that team.

It's the blockbuster trade that never was.  Harden was useless to the Nets, Simmons useless to us.

Harden is modestly useful to us.  Curry and Drummond will be modestly useful to the Nets.  The draft picks are fluff.  Even trade.

It was obvious, last year, that the Sixers were going to be a good, entertaining team that would always definitely fall short of the ultimate goal.  The centerpiece, Embiid, will always be nursing an injury in a playoff run.  Star #2 never materialized despite multiple efforts to obtain one.  2 picks at the top of the draft in Simmons/Fultz and, more recently, the trade for Harden, who turned out to be washed up.  Semi star #3 never materialized either.  Harris underperformed, they dumped Buttler.  That may be where Maxey ultimately settles in, but his consistency isn't there yet.

The bottom line is that they don't have the pieces to win a championship.  The Celtics picked 3rd in 2016 and 2017 and got Brown and Tatum...Sixers picked 1st in 2016 and 2017 and got Simmons and Fultz.  Aside from those outcomes being flipped, no other smaller moves/non-moves/mistakes would have this roster over the top.

I don’t get intimidated often but I am now sir.  Double jalapeños?  Is your family insane?

No, peppers and spices are wonderful.  This year, I will plant two serranos, a couple habaneros, a couple cayennes, four paprikas, two Anaheims, two of two different types of Hatches, eight jalapeños, six poblanos, four bell peppers and a couple Cubanelles (new type). Going to make it until production with the frozen jalapeños, Chiles, although the Poblanos are iffy and out of Serranos. The Arbols should make it but the Chilis are probably going to run out. I think the Chipotles will make it until I have more to smoke.  Son’s out of all of these and the smoked paprika.  I won’t make it with the smoked paprika and we are both out of paprika. I still have cayenne but I grow it solely to grind as a spice. Down to two pickled jalapeños and one hatch.  I recommend Sandia Seed for peppers. (No, I don’t do Reapers or Ghosts, too much heat and not a lot of flavor.)

I would love to find better tomatillo seeds than Burpee.  Anyone?  My tomatillos were half the size of what I can get at the grocery store.

I think everyone (especially Howie/Lurie/FO) should prepare for a rough looking board at 15.  Some of the players everyone is hoping for (The elite DBs, Johnson, Davis, Williams)...well, that's because they are good talents for 15.  And that's why they probably won't be there.

The slower WRs, the interior OL, the physical but less explosive DEs...that's who stays on the board.

Ever try these guys?  Baker Creek has lots of cool heirloom seeds and I have had good luck with most everything.

They have the right coach to do it.

Harden isn't anything close to what he was in Houston.  I think the sixers can see that.....well, I hope anyway.

I'm under the assumption the 4 DE's are going to be gone Top 10. 4 DE, 3 OT or 2 OT 1 QB, Sauce, Jameson, Hamilton.

My thoughts for the 3 most likely picks for the Eagles:

1. Davis.  I don't think the board breaks this way, but I suspect this is their guy.

2. Olave.  Not their top WR, but I think he's the one they'll pick up if they want a WR with the way the board will break.

3. Karlaftis.  See above, but for DE.

I'd be absolutely fine with Olave and Karlaftis.

Now if you said Drake London and Devonte Wyatt...

They are picking at 15 and 18 so there shouldn't be a plethora of great players on the board. I don't think the board will look rough at all though. Let's say the following players are gone by 15.

Hutchinson, Walker, Thibodeaux, Johnson, Davis, Neal, Ikem, Cross, Gardner, Stingley, Hamilton, Wilson, Williams, Willis.

That still leaves Booth, McDuffie, Olave, Burks, Karlaftis, Wyatt, Lloyd, Dean, and Hill.

I would settle for the Nets version of Harden who averaged 22/10/8 and be thrilled with it at this point.
