ESP'S FINAL MOCK

15 - Jordan Davis DT

18 - Jameson Williams WR

51 - Christian Harris LB

83 - Perrion Winfrey DT

101 - Jesse Luketa LB/DE

124 - Marcus Jones CB

152 - Mario Goodrich CB

162 - Charlie Kolar TE

166 - Jason Poe G

237 - Matt Waletzko T

This is honestly one of the worst mock drafts I have ever seen. It's not even that I don't like it. His value looks silly in come cases even in a polarizing draft. Williams isn't making it to 18, Winfrey isn't making it to 83, Luketa is a huge reach at 101, and Jones isn't making it to 124. Positionally it's a mess too. No DE, No S, No RB, and essentially no real solution at corner since Jones is a slot/RS and Goodrich isn't even a better prospect than Zech and Gowan. Total FN mess.

This draft makes me want to abort my eyes.

Well, they aren't going to fix everything needing DT, DE, LB, S, CB, WR, C, QB, and TE. That locks down DT and WR for a while and gets TE depth. I don't love the 2nd and 3rd round picks, but I usually don't with Howie. We'll be lucky if he doesn't blow the two firsts.

Wandering onto social media makes me appreciate the knowledge on this board more. Half of the people commenting on the draft on them are brain dead.

With Lance’s arm and Shanahan’s ability to scheme up space, I’d suspect it’s for Williams ideally.

Tbh i think Wilson and Williams are likely the two top WRs on the niners board. I think it depends on which you like better and think has the most upside. When i watch Wilson he reminds me of a hybrid of Diontae johnson and DJ moore. I’ve seen Ty Hilton comps. I really don’t see that with Wilson. While i think Williams reminds me of a lot will fuller but hopefully without the injuries in the pros. When fuller is healthy he’s ultra dynamic with his speed. Some say ruggs but i wasn’t as in love with ruggs as everyone else when he came out. I think Williams is going to be a better pro (not just cause of ruggs DUI).

I wouldn’t be surprised if one goes before 10. I think atlanta depending on how the board falls could go WR. I also wouldn’t be shocked if the jets make that move that a team tries to leap the niners to get one of those guys they love

Obviously not at 10 but Burks seems like someone Shanahan would want

Listened to an interview with Garrett Wilson on NFL Radio.  Extremely well spoken; I’m sure he interviewed very well with the teams he had official visits.  Wouldn’t surprise me if he is the first WR off the board.  I’ve seen him mocked to the NYG lately at #7

I thought about this the other day when the toney news hit that maybe the Giants really love Wilson or one of the wide receivers in this class enough to take one. realizing they have shepard, Galloday and rookie they could afford to deal toney and try to get value as he’s still on a rookie contract and cheap for at least 4 more years. Frankly I’d keep toney if they draft someone like Wilson and try to unload shepard or galloday if possible.

Sheil Kapadia must really enjoy 420 because it's almost distracting how often and obnoxiously he laughs during every BWF's podcast.

Heard it too.  He did a good job.  Seemed like a real team guy and he's an Eagles fan

I’ve heard the Giants are also trying to move Darius Slayton, who had an awful 2021 after a couple of decent seasons.  One NY-based program I listened to says "the Giants CANNOT leave Round 1 without an OT” — so I guess OT would be their likely pick at #5

Hearing a lot of interviews today predicting JAX will take an OT at #1.  Hard to argue with selecting the best player possible to protect your franchise player.  That could mean a top 5 of Neal, Hutchinson, Walker, Gardner, and Ekwonu.

I could see that. He is entering the last year of his contract and he still cheap for a year. So I’m guessing it’s like a day 3 pick. If they’d deal him for a 6-7th rounder and i was a team like GB or chiefs I’d take a chance on him.  the giants should take an one of those OT if they are available at 5 which I’m guessing is highly likely.

I'm no expert but I just don't see Hutchinson, Thibodeaux, or Walker as number 1 overall type DE talents. Neal and Ekwonu might not be either but I think they are much closer to that and protecting their young franchise QB should be the priority.

Stumbled upon USC running back Keaontay Ingram. He’s pretty good!

At 220 pounds he has pretty good burst (1.53 10 yard split), good contact balance and can catch the ball decently. He apparently is pretty bad in pass protection.

If we don’t get one of the good mid-round RBs, I’d be happy with him late or as a UDFA. He kind of reminded me of James Robinson as a prospect.

Oh.. I can't wait.  Every one of these guys are the guy they couldn't believe was still there and they had him rated at least a round higher than they got him.  Until they bust, and then it was someone else's fault... and their real targets were taken just before their pick.

Spot on, but don't forget the bit where the rest of the league call to congratulate him on the pick

Ok.  1 month control.  I say he doesn’t go in the first round.  You say he does.  No Dallas Cowboy avatars.

Favorite interaction of the day and it's only 615

My biggest concern on the eve of the draft:

My personal favorite round 1 targets for the Eagles have been pretty heavily mocked to us, by both local and national outlets, over the last several months.  Over the last week, those targets have consolidated themselves well inside the top 15, if not top 10.

I'd break my TV. Good 1st round but then it all goes to crap from there.

Harris and Winfrey at 51 and 83 would be pretty IMO, but I don't see either dropping that far and I'd rather see someone like McCreary at 51 with that first round.

If the Panthers miss out on a tackle, Howie needs to have a Dillard package ready for them.
