Singleton doesn't come close to making that play but would jump around afterwards.

Give him some credit. He might have been around there but missed the tackle.

Other teams made offers after the draft which is why his contract is higher than usual for an UDFA. The Eagles interviewed him at the Senior Bowl, and the Combine,
His biggest mistake at the Senior Bowl and Combine was trying to prove his knee was healthy, instead of focusing on what he does well.  Maturity wise he hangs his head and curses loudly if a receiver drops a ball, or he makes a bad throw. In the NFL the QB is the face of the franchise, and acting like a child only worked for Tom Brady.
Strong was responsible for the 10 other players, he set the protection, the primary and secondary receiver on each play for the last 2 seasons, so I’m not worried about a few teams saying he didn’t know his plays, that’s bunk.
Jason Kelce sets the protections for Hurts, and it’s one of the reasons the Eagles drafted Jurgens, he can recognize defenses as well.
Anyone remember Howard Mudd?  Vick fell apart in 2012 under i him because he decided Vick should be making those calls after Kelce got injured.
 Can Hurts make these call’s?

Strong has some maturity issues, and a jacked up knee that he didn’t miss a game for, he’s an accurate passer from 12-30 yards, closer than 10 for whatever reason he has a little Knoblauch syndrome that started this past season, likely due to his knee problem.  If he doesn’t learn to step into all of his throws, he may not make it past the preseason, but if he does, his arm is every bit as strong as Herbert’s and just as accurate.

Good summary. He isn't stepping into his throws because of his leg from what he said in some videos.

That will work a lot better if the offense isn't tailored to a running QB... which I hate anyway.  So, maybe with the addition of Brown, they will force the offense to go back to be an NFL passing offense.

I suspect the Eagles will move to a more pass oriented offense than they finished the year with.  First, Dickerson is more established than he was and improved in pass pro as the season went on.  Mailata improved in pass pro too.  Plus all the RG candidates are healthy (except possibly Seumalo). Someone will win the RG position. And Johnson is recovered from the ankle and hopefully has his head on straight. No more Reagor because he was a #1 pick. It is Smith and Brown.  Who gets snaps between Pascal, Watkins and Reagor now depends on who earns it.  But that said, I do believe the playbook will be expansive enough to play to a QB’s strengths.  Jets game last year supports that. (Ignore the last game against the cowpads as we played a PS game while the cowpads played starters. But even then, the offense fit Minshew, not Hurts.). Sirianni is going to tailor the offense towards the players strengths.

But I am not expecting Strong to win a QB competition but rather can he win a roster spot?

Should it be concerning how much Vrabel and seemingly all of the Titans FO loved Brown but were only willing to give him a max deal of $16M APY?

Maybe a little, but their GM is from New England and they rarely re-sign players to huge contracts unless they're Brady/Gronk kind of stars. That's just the way they do things.

Sanders has career numbers as he should (contract year).

Will make Hurts and Brown's life easier. If Hurts falls short, totally on him.

I’d be more concerned but i think the titans after acquiring Robert woods didn’t want to pay woods $10 mil and then give out another 25 mil. Add on they have $4 mil left of space in 2022. Then next year they’re over which obviously make some move easily to be under. I tend to agree with sheil kapadia when he went into some of the questionable moves they’ve made over the past 2 years in terms of paying guys and not wanting to pay him.

I think it’s a little concerning for sure, but I thought it was $16M with a max of $20M with incentives. Maybe I’m remembering wrong.

Nah, couldn’t even get his own son to sign as a UDFA.

Think there number was a few million less than what Howie flaunted.

Love the one you're with.

You are right but I’m going off of incentives = ability to play. And McLane said Eagles medical team red flagged him during the pre draft process. I hope it’s nothing but I think it’s eye brow raising why they would do this with a 24 year old WR when his new deal currently is top 5ish but by a year or two will be below that.

Brown said if they offered $22APY he would have signed a deal but there was too big of a gap between what they offered and that for him to accept

They probably drew the line at $20 million.

Their loss.

I’m with you. I’m good on the trade, but there is some trepidation. Similar to drafting Dean, or getting Strong as a UDFA.

It all seems too good to be true.

There are typically ways to abandon deals after 2 years.  Definitely seems like the Eagles best bet in that time period.

Question: if you plug in an elite veteran QB ala Rodgers into our current team, how far do they make it in the playoffs?

Superbowl champs. Too much talent on offense, and as I posted earlier,  secondary be damned.

This team with the talent at WR and the O line, we are only a competent passer away from being the best offense in the NFL.

If you had to divvy up shares out of 100 for the Eagles QB situation in 2023 how would you break it down based on the following possible outcomes.

1. Jalen Hurts is still the QB

2. A draft pick in 2023 draft is the QB

3. A veteran either via trade or free agency is the QB

4. Carson Strong or Minshew are the QB

I’d go

1. 30

2. 50

3. 15

4. 5

Eagles often take too long to move on from guys (Mills, Agholor) so I worry Hurts will be another.  They’re not going with a mid-tier veteran QB with a price tag — they’ve shown no interest at all in Jimmy G or Mayfield, etc.  Minshew is not the future, and Strong would take 2+ years to be given the keys even if his leg checks out.

A 1st round pick next season makes too much sense.  Cost controlled and a fresh start.
