We always talk about using those 2 picks next year to draft a QB.  Is there any high level QB in the league who might be upset with team (Herbert, Allen, etc.) and had for those two picks plus other capital?

. Aim high!   I don't see that happening with those two.

The recent QB movement is an anomaly.  That is not the norm in the NFL.

Strong is clearly the frontrunner for the Nasty Nate this year.

Right now the only disgruntled QB is Murray.

Brady is a FA next year, he'll be 45, but still.

The only other QB that I can see wanting out could be Burrow, if he gets sacked another 50+ times. Highly doubt it though.

I would even go higher with #1. There’s a strong possibility that even if we do draft a QB next year, Hurts will be the Doug Pederson/JimmyG/NYG Kurt Warner type bridge starter for a year, particularly if Jalen doesn’t crap the bed in 2022 and we have a decent year to build off of.

1. 50

2. 35

3. 15

4. Neither are on the team for that. We’ll double down on #3 if it ever gets to this point

Howie loves to maneuver.  He got that Saints pick next year with QB in mind.  If he doesn’t show significant improvement in his passing, they will target QB in round 1.  If that happens, they won’t need him to be a bridge for that QBs rookie year because the player they pick will likely already be better than him.

Plus Hurts will likely be part of the ammo they need to get the QB they want…either directly or indirectly.

Question: if you plug in an elite veteran QB ala Rodgers into our current team, how far do they make it in the playoffs?

The Defense is still the question.

Even the Jets scorched the Eagles D last year. TD after TD until the D finally made a few stops.

D needs to improve so we're not falling behind and forced to throw.

No one likes to be forced to throw in order to catch up.

It's hard to stick to your run game on Offense when you're down by 2 scores.

I agree with your first point, Hurts is going to have to be quite a bit worse than Wentz in 2020 to be replaced. Why do you think, if Strong's leg checks out, it would take 2+ years for him to be ready to be QB1?

As a thrower of the football, he’s already quite a bit worse than Wentz.

This defense will get scorched again.  Still didn't address the pass rush or secondary.

They kinda did bringing in Reddick. I really like the Josh Jobe pickup. If he's healthy I believe he can be the guy opposite of Slay. Both S spots and CB2 have a lot of work to do still

That's ageism. 10 points for the hater score.

Are we still playing that game?

You think he can dominate the New England Patriots #9 ranked defense in a preseason scrimmage like Hurts did?  Or would you believe it when some beat writers told you?

That would probably be an improvement over the Mountain West Conference opponents his highlights come against.

What's my racism score?

Arm Strength, reading the defense and reading the field both Wentz, and Strong are head and shoulders above Hurts.

In fact, in my opinion, I think the Eagles record would almost mirror each other is Strong got 17 starts, or if Hurts got 17 starts. That should tell you something

Yeah, sure.

How good would Hurts stats have to be for you to come here and admit you are completely wrong? Is that even possible with a hater like you? Serious question, I‘d love to remind you of it.

Howie is that PIA boss you hate having to deal with but also fear going to a competitor. He’s just very gifted.

I'll answer that one 4200 passing, 28 passing tds, less than 10 ints, and a 64% completion percentage. My guess is he gets the ints and completion percentage down, but falls 600 short of passing and 7 on tds

I love me some Howie...

But will we beat Dallas this year?

I understand that there's a lot of love for Howie for his wheeling and dealing to get picks and then to use some to acquire AJ Brown.

What all the people praising Howie seem to forget is that Howie has to make half of these moves to fix problems he's created.

With the addition of AJ Brown, since 2017 Howie has now invested the following draft picks on WR:

3 1st round picks  (Jalen Reagor, DeVonta Smith, AJ Brown)

1 2nd round pick (JJAW-now tight end)

2 3rd round picks (used in trades)

1 4th round pick (Mack Hollins)

2 5th round picks (Shelton Gibson, John Hightower)

1 6th round pick (Quez Watkins)

10 picks- 3 first rounders and a $100 million contract.

Over the same timeframe, the Steelers have invested the following draft picks on WR:

4 2nd round picks (Ju Ju, James Washington, Chase Claypool, George Pickens)

1 3rd round pick (Diontae Johnson)

1 4th round pick (Calvin Austin)

6 picks, zero 1st rounders, let WR walk when time to get paid and reload.

Pickens and Austin are unknowns but they both have tremendous potential.  Worth noting that Pickens went right after the Eagles took Jurgens, who many are saying was a reach (even though I think he has potential.  This is where Howie's wheeling and dealing hurts.  If he didn't have to trade for Brown, he could have stayed at 18 and taken a safety, CB, DE, could have used 51 on Pickens and still had his other 3rd round pick to move up to get Jurgens in a more appropriate spot.

The Steelers also took a flier on Myles Boykin who could contribute.  The Eagles took a flier on Devon Allen, who hasn't played an NFL down but does have world class speed.

Give me the Steelers blueprint over Howie wheeling and dealing 10 out of 10 times.

What type of stupid question is that? We're going to sweep em

4200 yard passing on top of running?

Damn that sounds a lot.

Thanks for some numbers though.

That's a bad argument. There's been qbs that haven't played in the Power 5 conference that have done pretty well as a pro

Hurts won't pass 3400

Love the enthusiasm.

We need to add some free agents to CB S DE.

Not sure what money we have left after trade and extend of AJ Brown.

His extension doesn't kick in until next offseason. This is the last year of his rookie deal. Best options out there is Rhodes 🤮

I believe the honey badger will end up in NO

We obviously are not great drafting receiver or corner. But excellent drafting for the lines.

That said Brown, Smith and Watkins feels good, so here we are now.

I’d take Rosemans wheeling and dealing any day.
