Our of curiosity, after seeing how the picks played out, how do we feel about trading pick 16 to the Saints for 101/2023 1/2024 2?

Was there anyone available at that pick that changes your thoughts? I’d say the popular name is Jermaine Johnson, but considering how far he ended up falling he ended up not being as highly thought of as we were led to believe.

I just want to know what the hell the Saints are doing? They did this and additional trade for Olave/Penning? It almost seems like this was Plan B or C, because if this was Plan A, sheesh.

No you’re not.  He is.  He can’t keep track of all of his takes.  He should keep a spreadsheet.

I know it's early but I need a drink after all that

And if it does not work out, it will be because of Hurts, so not only will Brown and Devonta be upset about their lack of targets, what will it do to the Brown / Hurts friendship ???

I understand that guys have friends on the team, but that comes as a bond from playing together, I don't think putting them together because they are friends is the best idea.

TO wanted the Eagles because of a friendship with McNabb, look how that ended.

Yep friendship doesn't mean on the field chemistry.

Good take, you've parrotted the exact same thing as your previous 10 posts.

Why bother to keep typing out the same Just save your self and us the time and copy and paste wash rinse and repeat...

Have to keep repeating it until you're finally able to comprehend common sense.

Rattler is a bum

I agree but it sounds like his move to SC has been a big help and he has a new outlook/mindset.  If he get's his attitude right, he 100% is a top talent.  He has come off as a tremendous d-bag so I hope he has grown up.  Excited to see if he grows up and takes the next step.

It might mean nothing but it also seems red flaggish that only 2 other teams brought Jordan Davis in for a visit. That seems pretty low for a first round pick in the top half of the draft.

That's like people keep repeating to you that Hurts is trash but your still over there giving him old fashion's and chipping in for his rent

Probably the best thing for him

Also, I don't think Tyrann Mathieu moves the needle as much as people think it does. Certainly not for whatever the price will end up being.

What is the price for Chuck Clark? I would bet he’s an Eagle by training camp.

I'd be ok with a 2 year deal

I think it would’ve moved the needle a lot for 1-2 years. He is 30 so after that we’d probably have been stuck on a bad contract.. 🤷🏻

Honey Badger headed to New Orleans. Harris and Epps are our starters.

Not a chance. There’s a move coming. You don’t go from offering a huge contract to Marcus Williams to doing absolutely nothing.

So, who is the one that got away for you guys this year?

For me it’s Faalele. I think he would have been a stellar pick in the fourth.

The thing about Rattler that scares me is that he looked bad in a Lincoln Riley offense.

Riley might be the best QB whisperer in any level of football, and if he couldn’t make him look good, there’s a problem.

Hamilton

I think the pass rush will be better than people think, honestly. Reddick helps a lot. Graham back (even in a limited capacity) helps. Getting Davis helps even if all he does is free space for the LBs to pressure.

Our front seven is legit. If Taylor can come back healthy and take the next step as he started too, our LB group can be very good as well.

If by an act of God Hurts actually shows he's the future, we are set up very nicely moving forward.

We won't know how this story ends until next year's draft.

Should we table the discussion until then?

Yes. You aren’t going to convince him so why do you keep beating your head against the wall?

The guy is a complete stiff.

There was a limited amount of teams that defensive schemes that he'd fit really well into which is probably part of it. The only likely destinations I saw for him was the Eagles, Chargers, Ravens or Bucs. The Bucs didn't pick until after he was likely gone so he probably wasn't on their radar unless if he fell and they really liked Logan Hall anyway.

Epps ?   Yeah Mathiue would have been a major upgrade.

He would be an upgrade but at the end of the day I don't think signing him would win more games or extend any type of playoff appearance. He'd be "fine" but not some massive get like anyone on twitter acts like he is. His best days are behind him.

Interestingly, the Texans ended up taking Kenyon Green at #15 which leads me to believe he'd have still been their pick at #13 had Howie not traded up.  Someone actually posed the question before the draft "what happens if Jermaine Johnson, Kyle Hamilton, and Jordan Davis are all on the board at #11 ... would you trade up?"  They were all on the board at #13 as it played out in reality.

They were 3 of my favorite prospects in the draft, so if it was me in Howie's chair I might have been inclined to let the board play out -- likely Green at #13, Jordan Davis at #14 .... then I would have taken Hamilton at #15 on the assumption the Saints wanted a safety (pursuing Mathieu).  Then with the AJ Brown trade that would have left me going after a DL at #51 instead of Jurgens.  Still would have taken Dean at #83.  It would have resulted in the Eagles keeping #124, 162, and 166 overall.

Pretty much a moot exercise because I think the Eagles were set on Jordan Davis, and planned in advance to jump BAL to do it.  Interesting that they had the AJ Brown trade worked out in advance as well.  I'm not too worried about losing the 4th and 5th round picks because Strong and Jobe could be subbed in there anyway from their pre-draft rankings.
