I mean, back to back 15 yd penalties puts the Chiefs at the 45 yd line. Tougher odds than what they ended up with, sure, but I wouldn't say a FG is out of the question for Butker.

How much time will chiefs have after a squib and a scuttled play?

If we trade for him, will you stop being an Eagle fan?

We won't

But yes ... I could not ever support that.

Someone will bring up Mike Vick - it's different - and that's all I'm saying on this subject.

No he can’t.  His arm is not good.  His mechanics are bad.  And it’s not strong.   Sure it can improve some.  But how much better do you think it will get?  LOL.  He is what he is.  And that’s a running QB who can’t hit deep out patterns or tight zip throws.  Not to mention his terrible field vision and pre snap awareness.

I just don’t get it.  There is nothing redeeming about him as a passer.  If he had young Alex Smith level accuracy and pocket sophistication, then I’d get working with a short, weak armed QB.

If he were 6’5” with a huge arm, then I’d get the patience with his poor pre-snap defensive reads, field vision, progressions, and decision-making.

But he is literally the worst of both worlds.  He combines the sophistication only tolerated with massive passing talents and the passing talent only tolerated with extremely polished passers.  It’s just stupifying that people who care about the success of this team actually want to see this play out.

On a well executed squib, almost certainly not enough time. But the up man or anyone else can down it as soon as they touch it with only a couple seconds coming off. Squib is definitely the right call, but not a given that you still can't get two plays out whatever time was left. Don't get me wrong, bills coaching blew it, I'm not trying to defend them at all.

Agreed. But it's not like it's Butker hitting a 63 yarder is impossible either.

True. Less chance than what they allowed to happen.

They really put Hurts in here lol

So you think needing to take 2 steps of momentum while taking seconds to rip his hips open and cranking every joint in the body while losing all accuracy just to get the ball downfield constitutes a strong enough arm?

No sweat - just an exercise on what Bill would do? Cheat.

There are some weird forces in play that want to force Hurts into prominence in this league.

This fan base lol

The squib seems to be the right call, but if Hill gets you to midfield on the return and Mahomes hits on the usual pass, then they are right there in FG range again and you are left defending why you didn’t put them back on the 25.

The NFC has little chance against the AFC the next few years.

They are probably mulling over whether they should have gone for 2.

Every option seems like a bad option when your dealing with a modern elite offense.

Your strategy is 100% valid though if they needed a TD instead of a FG. Or if the chiefs were starting from their own 20 or less with the same amount of time remaining. In that case, yeah put 2 DBs on Hill and tackle then pin him. Horrible way to call a game, but 100% legal to trade the penalty for time off the clock.

thats fine. Im not saying he cant so nothing will change between now and then.

Im saying he hasnt yet. Which is 100% correct. He can go win a superbowl next year. That doesnt invalidate the fact that as of this moment right now, he hasnt done it yet.

You aren’t right, there is legit nothing that supports your argument. You are the only one on this strange hill. The entire NFL thinks he’s a superstar QB. His performance today proves you wrong, his performance last week proves you wrong, his performance this season proves you wrong. His performance last season proves you wrong. His stats back it up, his record backs it up, honestly you are just being a hater at this point. He just put up an all time statistical playoff performance together, that is a fact. his defense can’t stop the best QB/super team in the game so that proves he still hasn’t arrived yet??? Cmon man, cmon. AFA65860-40E1-468D-9F05-14A8DC2BE745.thumb.jpeg.fcc75fa8cec73c7dc31e52926a1454a3.jpeg

QBRs

Mahomes: 96.0

Josh Allen: 90.3

Wow

With the Eagles passing offense, to get into FG range in 13 seconds, Jordan Mailata would literally need to pick up Jalen Hurts holding the football and throw him down field for 50 yards.

On the first play with 13 seconds left, Buffalo should have held every receiver and taken a 10 yard penalty leaving minimal time left on the clock. Would have only left time for one more play where KC would have needed a Hail Mary. Baltimore did something similar a while ago against Cincinnati at the end of the game.

A squib may get a second or two, but probably gives up 10-15 or so yards.

The Bills were playing too loose, having seen Hill run right through them the possession before.  Sidelines didn't matter, KC had timeouts.

I'd rush two and double almost everyone.
