For those wondering if we should consider Carson Strong...

Saw this one following the TB debacle, it was nice a pallet cleanser after watching Swag’s noodled-arm adventures rolling left. Sullivan, a former QB, seemed impressed with the arm talent, anticipation in some cases and footwork (although Strong wasn’t particularly pressured much in the selected game iirc).

I don't want us to draft a center in the first round....period.  I don't care how good he is.  Davis does scare me only because he is a 2 down DT.  I wouldn't pigeon hole him into a 3-4.  I like Booth....I can be good with that.

I wouldn’t say only a 3-4 NT. But I just don’t see him here. And I get it on Linderbaum. I really like Alec Lindstrom later as well at C.

Looks pretty good

I wouldn't have ever seen them as similar.  Only thing they have in common in my eyes is their gloves.  Bridgewater was able to move better than Pickett.  I am out on Pickett.

I have seen comps to Derek Carr.  I see a little Manziel and Mayfield in him, which isn't a compliment.

I agree. I don’t want Pickett. If I’m rolling the dice this year it’s on Ridder or Carson Strong’s knee.

Combine should be the most watched by Eagle fans in a long long time....Senior bowl as well.  It'll be must see TV.

I think Ridder and Strong cement themselves as potential first rounders. With three this year, it’s the year to roll the dice. I don’t think we are in position for any of the top guys next year without a big trade up. If we make a move down or two to pick up more firsts for next year, that tells you all we need to know about the 2023 draft.

Because defense was so important yesterday? I'm here to tell you that if we have a good quarterback we can compete. Imagine a guy that can throw and then think about Smith, Watkins, and Goedert.  We can be competitive with 1 good move.

Or with a little patience we could be much more than competitive for years to come.

This is definitely over-simplistic, but I wouldn't mind going a little conservative and copying last year's draft. Stick with guys from powerhouse SEC programs in rounds 1 and 2, go for some freak athlete in round 3.

Dean to me is not worth the first rounder. Davis also while a man mountain doesn’t really fit in 4i. IMO he’s gonna be a stud as NT for a 3-4. I’d add Booth to the list and Linderbaum in their stead.

I don’t think scheme is an issue here for JD99 - we need a NT for our 3DL fronts and he can be 1T in our 4-3 looks. The issue is snaps, and do you use a 1st on a niche player. If you get Vita Vea - maybe, as it makes life for your LBs much better and situationally stopping the run can be very important.

Really?  You think they forgot that QB was important?

no, but it might have opened their eyes to just how far away we are at the position?

2 different games in the videos. Part 1 is more like a highlight video.

I think part 2 has a sack, and shows him drifting left a few times when he should be sliding up.

Overall though, yeah. Its very positive- anticipation, and accuracy.

If anyone is wondering if Hurts is good enough

I have seen this.  Not good enough.

yeah. He likes his running ability....says there is opportunity for more, from the pocket. As most of us know...

There are some weird forces in play that want to force Hurts into prominence in this league.

Yeah I am not sure what it is, but all kinds of media types etc, really have been pushing positive stuff about him, despite his clear lack of ability.  It's almost as if, they like to see the Eagles as nothing better than mediocre and are trolling us?

But yeah I dont get it.

That Josh Allen video after year 2 would be the same BTW. Not a defense of Hurts either. QBs improve. We'll see.

You left out Arcega-Whiteside!

Realistically in this QB thirsty league, where do we think Strong goes in the draft?  I'd argue he goes in the 1st. BUt admittingly, I am not that up on stuff and it's early (pre combine)

Josh Allen had clear arm talent. You saw it on full display last night. He laughed at the 2 deep shell and threw a rainbow OVER it, which is really unheard of. Hurts will never see a deep shell coverage in his life.

What are these things LBs that you speak of?

If anyone hasnt seen this one yet, here is Ridder against Georgia in the Peach Bowl

It was.  Bills stop the Chiefs on any of the last 3 drives... they win.

I don't disagree on the need for a QB.  But defense is still valuable.  It was the defense on the field multiple times for the Bills and they let their team down.

At no point in Allens or Hurts careers would I have ever compared them. Allen has always looked the part, shown the ability, needed only to work on consistency and his mental aspects of the game. Hurts is no comparison to Allen. Hurts has never looked the part, would need to develop the mental part of the game and improve his ablitity to process & react much faster, as well as develop arm strength. Thats a boatload of improvement needed, when we saw little to no improvement in his first 2 years to date.

I am realist- that ship has sailed.

Jalen Hurts will never be as good as Josh Allen. That's not the question. The question is whether Jalen Hurts + 38M in cap space can be as good as Josh Allen's 40M cap hit. I'd obviously rather have Allen, but if Hurts can improve than it's a worthwhile discussion.

This was the last year of Allen's rookie deal. He's about to get expensive and will lose core pieces around him. How does he react to losing OL? His WR4 is Emmanuel Sanders. He'll have to elevate.

I'd bet 1st round if that knee checks out...maybe even the 1st QB off the board.  That is starting to show up more and more in mock drafts.  He has a cannon and plenty of QB mobility.

Then capitalize on that move, by adding some defensive talent?  Lb's, Db's and build more depth?

Is this a question? An elite QB is worth more than a crap QB and cap space.

Sanders, who is 34, is nothing more than a WR4 at this point in this career
