Carson looked like a good QB with bad receivers in 2016.  Hurts looks like a bad QB with one good WR, a solid number 2/3 in Watkins and a bust.  It's not the same disaster the position was in 2016 by a long shot.  Hurts didn't have a bunch of receivers dropping balls and not getting open.

That 2016 wr corps was a dumpster fire except for Jordan Matthews. Frankly his production was a byproduct of they only had him that could catch passes consistently at wr.

As I also said in one of my first posts to you, if they aren't reasonable then use the firsts any way you want. Without a decent quarterback to build around we aint going nowhere.

Caldwell is a good safe hire. He'll get the most out of Fields and will return the team back to respectability.

You may not want to agree with his opinions but I don't believe there is any agenda behind anything he says. He just calls it like he sees it without wild swings of emotion one way or the other. He's not trying to be the smartest guy in the room but simply looking at the big picture and the facts as they are presented. Plus he's always willing to admit when he was wrong. All traits I like but obviously not everyone.

He literally said when evaluating Hurts you should throw away weeks 1 through 7 and only evaluate him as a QB from Detroit on. That's an agenda.

I remember seeing some reports in 2020 that claimed many around the league felt Doug and his offense had become stagnant, too predictable and not evolving enough.  Almost like he was in over his head.

Again, I don't think he will get hired, especially if he insists on calling plays.  But I think he could be a good HC if he just over sees everything and hires the right assistants.
